👍👍 Wonderful stay for two nights here. The place was very clean and the staff was super kind. They spoke English well and I had no issues staying here as a solo female traveler. People often mention clean, stay, staff, Kyoto, comfortable, hostel, location, hotel, great, nice,

As someone who has stayed in hostels a lot, this blew away my expectations. Everything was clean, orderly, and secure. Everything you could wish in a guesthouse/hostel style accommodation was thought of. In the sleeping area, each bed has a blind you can pull down for privacy, multiple lights, outlets, and a safe deposit box for your valuables. There is also an area for luggage and lockers for smaller luggage. As a solo female traveler I felt perfectly safe and comfortable as I stayed on an all female floor that you need a card key to go into. The location is nice as you are minutes away from Gion central district and it was easy to get around to different attractions. Staff and other guests are kind and respectful. All in all excellent stay.

This was the PERFECT stay! Check-in was easy, the staff has very good english and is there to answer any questions for you. Please note: if you book online, you will have a small fee to pay at the counter. it's the city tax, i was explained, and it's not billed with the standard booking. Dont fret! It's not some insane amount of money. In my case, it was only ¥200 (less than $2 USD). I also really liked that on your bed is an amenity bag (pictured above). The amenities were sleek, modern, and very clean. As a matter of fact, the whole place is almost impecably clean! Every time i was in the lobby, I always saw at least one staff member cleaning. The place is very secure, i felt completely safe during my stay. As far as luggage storage, you are provided a locker to put your things in! You set your own code on it, the instructions are on the locker. It is very spacious! I was carrying 2 full size backpacks and a mini backpack, and i still had room for more. If you have a suitcase, there is space next to the lockers for you to place it. The only "issue" i would say is that right when you get off of the elevator, there is a smell of cigarettes. As a smoker, i dont mind. it is isolated to only the room with the elevator, and i think it's because just below that area is the smoking room. But again, this isn't a bother! Once you open the door to the bathroom, the smell is completely gone. That's also true for the room with the beds. Just wanted to let anyone know so there are no surprises! Overall, I will 100% stay here again whenever I return to Kyoto. This place was all i could ever ask for and more. ありがとうございました!

Very good location. Accessible and near to old Kyoto streets. I went there on weekdays and there were very few people inside the hotel. The toilet, bathroom and capsule room were clean and comfortable to use. The capsule experience was nice as well and there were very few people there so it was quiet as well.

The hostel is incredibly clean, the staff is super nice and helpful and there is a very nice atmosphere in the hostel. It's located in Gion, as such being very close to the famous streets of Gion, and located close to many great restaurants. Furthermore, it's located 15min away by foot from Kiyomizu-dera, 10min away from Yasaka Shrine and you are very well connected to other parts of town since the metro and especially the bus stations are very close. I definitely recommend staying here, especially for the price that you pay.

Don’t even bother looking for another place to stay in Kyoto. This place is so lovely, so incredibly clean and amazingly comfortable. The AC and bed in the pods makes for the best sleep I have had during my entire time in Japan. And the staff are so kind and considerate, so accommodating and helpful I can’t thank them enough. The location is also the best you will find. I have even written a Google review but these guys are so amazing I just had to. Stay here. You will be thankful you did.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Kyoto that feels homely, clean, and comfortable, i highly recommend Tsukimi Hotel!! I had the best experience and all the staff are so accommodating and lovely. The capsules are so comfortable with usb charging ports, and a fan! I had the most amazing sleep ever and I will definitely be going here again the next time i visit kyoto 🥰

Great location close to Kiyomizu-dera and Gion. Very clean and all the amenities you need. The rooftop area was perfect for watching Kyoto’s famous sunsets and the lounge area was a great place to watch films and make new friends. We would definitely come back!

I really enjoyed my stay in this Hostel in January 2020. I chose this location because of the cheap price and good reviews. And I don’t regret my decision. The staff is very hospitable and friendly. The hostel itself is very clean and comfortable. The lobby has a free to use coffee machine. The sleeping rooms accommodate around 24 capsules, which have an adequate size and feel very cozy and private. There are three showers for each sleeping room, which are also very clean. Towels can be found in the capsules. Of course the place has the usual downsides of capsule-hotels. Noisy neighbors can always be a problem. For example people taking a shower early in the morning but leaving their phone in the capsule, ringing for 15 min straight, waking everybody up. However there are earplugs in every capsule, which are not very comfortable though. But if you intend to stay at capsule-hotels own earplugs are a must-have anyways. I enjoyed how vivid and alive the hostel felt, which was promoted by the nice lobby and roof top-terrace, which invite to hang out and have casual conversations with the other visitors. If you stay in Kyoto and are looking for a cheap place to stay I can definitely recommend this place. I’m sure you will like it just as much, as I did.

Fabulous! The best capsule hotel I stayed in three weeks. Absolutely clean and shiny, amazing atmosphere to relax, work on your laptop, enjoy a movie, and drinks. Facilities are supreme. Beds are very comfortable. The staff is as helpful as possible. The location is perfect. Rooftop with tables and a city view. Next time I am in Kyoto - definitely will stay here, as it was a true pleasure in itself.

A little gem. Photos are accurate, spotless, staff very friendly and speak English and very helpful. Rooms are great, particularly the shared bathrooms which were spotless and had free shampoo, body wash, towels etc. The sleeping capsules are very comfy and have an individual safe if you need it. Free luggage drop if you want to explore more before you leave Kyoto. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Super comfortable and clean. It was my favorite of the three places I stayed while visiting Japan. Staff was always around and helpful even though they were understaffed. They provided towels everyday and slippers to wear around once inside. I also found the pod beds to be super cozy and slept very well. Highly recommend!

Easily the most comfortable bed/ pillow I encountered in my travels in Japan. I felt very safe as a solo female traveller and it was extremely clean. The all-female section that I was in was at like 15% capacity and it was so quiet. 10/10 recommend. I went to a different hotel in Kyoto after and I was disappointed because there is no location as ideal as this hotel if you're planning on walking and visiting temples. I was a bit warm in the pod as it has sort of a pull down privacy screen (I slept with it open because I was a bit warm but they do have a fan but it's more of an air filter from my understanding in each pod) but then I messaged the host the next night and they turned the AC for the room down as a whole. They were very open to it so I would ask if you're warm at night.

Quiet despite there being 24 beds in the room. Safe provided within bunks. Place kept clean and fresh towels provided every day. Toilets and showers right beside room. Really enjoyed my stay!

It's placed near one of the most important temples on all of Kioto, and in one of the oldest parts of the city, and even though the buildings surrounding it are all quite old, the hostel itself is really big and brand new looking, it has a clean white esthetic. All the guys in the reception are quite friendly

Incredible stay at this capsule hotel/hostel. The staff it’s amazing all of them, specially thanks to Saku. Brilliant daily cleaning in all areas, comfy beds and good facilities. Also great value for money compared with other places around. Definitely a nice place to stay again.

Honestly an amazing experience. The apsules where comfortable, you had a place to store your stuff and a lounge downstairs. Which they even let us choose what to watch if you wanted to watch a movie or something. The staff is very friendly and even gave us some recommendations for dinner when we asked them.

TSUKIMI is redefining the "Hostel" Concept. To stay here was an amazing experience. With incredible design, impressive functionality and very attentive professional staff, TSUKIMI offers a valuable unforgetable experience. Wifi was premium, the kitchen very handy and the free coffee excellent. The very comfortable capsules and clean nice showers come with a very international young and positive vibe. Portugueses em Viagem strongly recommend this fresh new hotel.

Fabulous hotel with super-helpful friendly staff. Everthing spotless and perfect location. My first time in a capsule hotel and pleased to find the pods quiet, super comfy with a safe, usb charging and internal ventilation 🙂. Lots of luggage space. The manager even kindly let his phone for me to make an emergency call to UK! Definitely recommend!

By far my favourite hostel in Japan! We have stayed in several ones but the Tsukimi experience definitely was outstanding. It is super clean, has high technical standards and lies directly in one of the most beautiful areas of Kyoto. Awesome staff as well - arigatou!

This was one of the last places I stayed after a month long trip and it had to be one of the cleanest and most updated places yet. Beds are super comfy and I felt very secure the whole time. Highly recommended.

This hostel is amazing! My partner and I stayed here for two nights and extended our stay because we loved it so much. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. It’s really clean too. The kitchen is pretty good. There’s only one stove top burner but you can make it work. They serve really good bread in the morning + bottomless espresso all day. The sleeping pods are much bigger than I expected. And they have a nice deep bathtub. They give you fresh towels everyday :-) I really like their rooftop patio as well. The hostel is also right around the corner from a 24/7 supermarket. Okay that’s all folks

Honestly incredible. My girlfriend and I loved our stay. Perfect location, friendly staff, comfortable sleeping pods, and very clean. You have to be out of the hotel by 10am, and can't come back until the afternoon (3pm, if I remember correctly). But that was no issue at all, just load up a backpack and explore Kyoto! Whenever I make it back to Kyoto, I'll be staying here!

Very clean! I'm 6'2 and I slept comfortably and not cramped at all. The staff is very friendly and eager to help in any way they can. The lockers have their own combination locks, so we didn't need our own, and we got fresh towels every day for no extra charge.

Do yourself a favour and come to this hostel. I was initially worried about the atmosphere here since other capsule hostels I've been to have been quiet and not the friendliest atmosphere but I'm so happy I gave this place a try! The main floor is perfectly designed to connect with other travelers, the place is spotless, and the coffee is so good! I loved it here so much that I came back on my way back to tokyo from the west side of Japan

The location was great! We were in Gion, an easy walk away from shops, temples, subways, and even mountain trails. Walking into the building, you can immediately feel its cleanliness- everything was white and fresh, and air purifiers were on every floor. Everything was cleaned and replenished daily, free of charge. The breakfast was simple but well-stocked, and coffee and water were available all day with no extra cost. Finally, the staff was absolutely wonderful! We were constantly checked up on when we spent time in the common areas. From offering blankets and Netflix to being brought slippers and having our bags brought to our rooms, they were always happy to go the extra mile. All in all, this was a perfect place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Great location near Kyoto old town, lovely staff who were very helpful, pod rooms that were extremely clean, bathrooms and toilet area were right next to the bed area and also spotless. Clean towels every night and shampoo/conditioner/shower gel available in the shower. Movies and drinks downstairs for those who want to socialise. Only slight downside was the expensive washers on the roof but there is a coin laundry right across the street. Not any real complaints and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I loved my stay Tsukimi so much that it was one of my highlights of being in Kyoto. The facility itself is wonderful, clean, safe and you have everything you need; but the staff is what really made my experience. They went above and beyond to help me on multiple occasions. I also worked for the entire week I was there and had 0 connectivity issues, quiet space issues, etc. I was so comfortable and felt so at peace. It really felt like my Kyoto home. Also, everything is walking distance! 5 to 45 minutes to all the best stuff. But there is trains and buses conveniently there if you aren't a walker. Stay here!
