I’m so glad I chose to stay at The PAX. With so many options, it can be difficult to decide — but this was the perfect place! It’s in a great location, has an excellent cafe (with the best iced chai), and a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were also so friendly and helpful. It felt like a quintessential hostel experience — I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Osaka!

Absolutely fell in love with this place! Wonderful ambiance that made it a pleasure to roll out of bed every morning. They provide cheap laundry services, towels, and the cafe, and the crowd of travelers who stay here are all nice!! Had fun staying up until the wee hours of the morning spinning Jazz records. Very central location with a lot going on around it, but laid back atmosphere inside.

A hidden gem of a hostel in Osaka. Colorful and cozy with friendly staff. It has its own vibe unlike most other modern hostels these days. Good music and good food all in the middle of a laid-back neighborhood with lots of local places to eat and/or party.

Really enjoyed my stay here, hostel was very hipster, loved the interior and amenities with comfy and spacious capsule-style bunk beds. Staff was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Location was amazing, loved Shinsekai and its retro vibe, lots of restaurants around and Tsutenkaku tower just around the corner.

Great hostel, best vibe of my stay in Japan so far. Location whilst at the fringe of walking distance to Dontonbori I actually found the activity and nightlife of the surrounding streets to be more fun and more off the radar. Best coffee I’ve had in Japan so far and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka. Dorm beds slightly noisier than premium capsule hostels but they supply free ear plugs and the atmosphere is far more fun than I’ve had in more private dorms.

Do yourself a favour and stay here if you're looking for a friendly, fun and funky place to Osaka. Beautiful place with beautiful people looking after it! In the middle of historic Shinsekai around a bunch of small bars and places to eat and not far from the lights of Dotonbori. I've stayed here twice now and it won't be the last.

Really lovely staff, the owner/manager always asked me what I was going to see, how my day was going etc. really good vibe, outstanding location, comfy beds, one of the best showers I've had in a hostel, my only complaint is that the windows let in a lot of noise from the street.

Amazing hostel with charming staff. Rooms were clean and have large mirrors which is great for instagram shots or just checking your outfit before you go out. The common room is perfect for meeting other travelers and the rooftop seems like it would be amazing in warmer months. The cafe hours seem a little inconsistent in the winter but I don't blame them. The banh mi they offer is really good though. Also there are some cute neighbourhood cats that hangout in the area.

Homey. That is how I would describe this hostel! I came into the kitchen and immediately Yuna and some other staff members were so, so friendly. We talked for some hours in the kitchen and they shared snacks and we chatted for 3 hours even with language barriers in English and Japanese :) the design is so nice, I think the wood contributes to the feeling of warmth in this hostel. They have lots of books and other touches that make it a nice stay. Also curtains on the beds so it feels a little more private even in a dorm room. The location is great as it is closely to endless eateries and 6 minute walk to the metro station which connects to Osaka Loop line, so you can see whatever in Osaka. I would highly recommend this hostel.

Even though it's situated inside the Shinsekai district, it's off to the side so it's very quiet. The lobby and cafe space acts as a record store, always good tunes playing. Staff were friendly, bunks are private and air-conditioned. Loved my stay here.

I want to say a big thank you to the staff, especially Hiro, for being so friendly and welcoming. The place is kept clean and the lobby is aesthetically pleasing. The beds are well-equipped and comfortable. The location was also excellent and conveniently located near a Metro station. I can't wait to come back to Osaka and stay here again!

Probably my first time to leave a Google Review and it's to spread the good word - do yourself a favor and stay here the next time you're in Osaka. Love the energy and vibe of this place, can really feel the warmth even on a winter day ✨️

I spend a full week at the Pax and it was amazing! The rooms are clean and provide enough privacy (I slept in the hostel area). The employees are very open, social and speak English very well. As a solo traveler, it was also a good place to meet new people and get more insight about the city. Moreover, the location makes it easy to commute of even walk to the highlights of Osaka. Thank you Pax!

The Pax Team was so welcoming, nice and friendly with us. The best hostel i did in Japan with a friend. And the district is very cool you have a lot of good restaurant or activities and shop ! They gave you good advices or tips if you need. They invite us with them to a restaurant just after our arrival on the end of afternoon, just incredible. Of course the hostel is clean, with large bed and space on dormitory and commons are nice to chill and met others people. There is a rooftop to dry your laundry (washing machine & clothes dryers).

The staff in this hostel is awesomely friendly. I almost got a guilty conscience, because they took so much interest in me and what I do. The atmosphere is great. We were quite busy, but Im sure if you ask the staff, they give you good advices.

Really fun hostel. The staff were great, very friendly and nice to chat with. The vibes of the hostel were really good, laid back but still quiet and respectful. The location was fantastic. Lots of nice food and drinks nearby, and a subway stop within a few blocks if you need to go elsewhere. I really enjoyed the neighborhood, but it is definitely a little more run down than other parts of Osaka and Japan. Still, everyone I met was incredibly nice and welcoming.

The cafe at the Pax Hostel was just at the exit of the Shinsekai market, we found it just in time when we had an hour to kill before heading out. It provides a very bespoke 60s cafe vibe with vinyl records, wooden interiors and warm lumination all over. The cafe has great food ( try their pork bahnmi for sure) and coffee. The hosts were really friendly and nice to converse. Definitely a great place to stop over in Shinsekai
