For anyone visiting Kyoto, attending Miyako Odori is an absolute must. It is an opportunity to witness the talent, passion, and artistry of Japan's finest performers. The beauty and grace of the dancers, combined with the seamless integration of tradition and innovation, make Miyako Odori an unforgettable cultural experience. Our respect and appreciation for Japanese culture deepened as we left the theatre, carrying with us memories that will last a lifetime. If you can witness Miyako Odori, seize it without hesitation and prepare to be captivated by the true essence of Japanese art and tradition.

It was too much touristic. Almost 95% are western foreigners, quite a lot of them don’t really know the show. I don’t know what actually attracts them there. 6000 Yen for 1 hour mix show. Quality was just so so. I only like the section with Geisha. No photo was allowed. What‘s a pity

It was incredible. You get to see the most of Japanese performances, such as Geshia dance, puppet show and a comedy show, etc. It was an hour long for 7 performances. It was a bit pity that taking pictures and videos were not allowed. We paid for the premium tickets which were the first row of the seats. I absolutely recommend it!!

Don't buy the tea ceremony. You will not see anything if you are not on the first row.

(Translated by Google) What you must fill in to come to Kyoto. It's like flamenco in Seville, tap dance in Dublin, boxing in Las Vegas, Peking opera in Beijing. you deserve to have. (Original) 来京都必须要填的节目。就像塞维利亚的弗拉明戈,都柏林的踢踏舞,拉斯维加斯的拳击,北京的京剧。你值得拥有。

A complete waste of 50 mins and an insult on the sensitive artistic values of the Japanese people. In short a tourist trap. If you find that you cant find it because google map takes you to the wrong place, consider yourself lucky and skip it. Walk away quickly and enjoy the real Kyoto. Spend the money ln a decent meal. What a rip off!

A lovely little taste of a range of Japanese arts. The kyogen comedy had me in stitches and the kyomai was beautiful. I speak about 10 words in Japanese and it was still interesting. I would recommend getting there early and reading the programme before it starts as it will help you immerse into the experience.

We booked a traditional show here during our stay in Kyoto, the booming process was pretty complicated especially without having a Japanese phone number. The show itself was cultural and the theatre decor was traditional and felt like you were completely immersed. Although it did get a little repetitive. What was disappointing about our experience was the overly polite staff unwilling to ask people to leave behind us who were talking the entire time which ruined the experience.

This was an incredible experience to see seven different types of Japanese performances for tourists. We booked a last minute show on their website on the official page and hour before the performance at 7 pm. We enjoyed it because it was short and sweet. The program was helpful in guiding what exactly you will see and what to expect. I do wish I could have seen the Noh Play, but it is offered seasonly. The actors gave the performance their all with precision. The staff was very kind and efficient.

A tourist-oriented venue. Satisfying for those who want a taste of Japanese performance, but not much of a performance otherwise.

We attended the Traditional Arts Performance and it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend buying tickets online in advance, to make sure there are seats available (we bought our tickets the morning of). I think the third row on the right side would be the ideal spot (for premium tickets) or as close to the front on the right as you can get, as the tea ceremony is performed in that area. Or, the front row would of course be the clearest view of the main stage and performances.

Nice little theatre with tasteful decor. Authentic traditional Japanese art performances with Maiko and puppet theatre highlights. located in the beautiful gion district.

(Translated by Google) Seen from the back, it's a very large building. Was this originally the main entrance? Is it currently under renovation? (Original) 裏から見たら以外と立派な大きな建物。 本来はコチラが正面玄関なのかな?今は「改装中」なのかな?金比羅宮から北へ四条通リの手前で気が付きました。

Change the performance place without notifying guests. Found that without alarming guests. Very bad experience and irresponsible staff. Do not watch their show since there are tons of other good shows.

It was really great experience to see traditional Japanese arts, but it moved along really quickly. I recommend to sit as front and center as possible, and read the pamphlet thoroughly before the comedy and play acts begin or you will miss a lot of the magic.
