The location is good, the staff are friendly, but there are small problems that ruin this capsule hotel. IF these problems are fixed, I would give 4 stars. Firstly, the rules aren’t strict enough - people don’t put their shoes in the cabinet in the shared room, young people are very noisy and talk too much in the shared room when people are trying to sleep, and young people leave their items on the shared lounge tables for hours at a time. Staff don’t really enforce any rules. The behaviour of guests (mostly young American guests) is terrible. Please make more signs to tell people the rules, and be more strict. Secondly, the hotel has some things that need repair. The second floor men’s toilet tap is broken. The shoe cabinet shelf in the shared room is broken. The curtains in the shared room beds need replacement hooks. They are easy to fix, but they need attention. Thirdly, the hotel is not very clean in the toilets, kitchen and showers. The floor is always dirty in the toilets. There is black mold around the sinks in the kitchen area and the shower area. There is grime around the shower doors. It’s a small problem, but it only takes 30 seconds to clean a sink or shower properly. The hotel needs more cleaning staff, and a stricter cleaning schedule. The staff are very friendly. This is almost a nice hotel, but there are some small problems which make it below average.

This was the best hostel I've ever stayed in! Perfectly clean, very quiet, fantastic amenities, comfy beds, great location. You get free slippers and ear plugs, and the toothbrushes and toothpaste is free! Very fast wifi too! Highly recommended, I'll definitely be using The Stay from now on for my Japan travels.

The best hostel I've ever stayed in. I was very excited to try a pod hotel and it did not disappoint! It's very quiet, clean, comfortable, convenient and cute! And a fabulous price!!! The bed was comfortable, the pod plenty spacious. There is a medium sized lock box in your pod. Slippers and towel were included (and sheets and pillow and blanket). Ear plugs were complimentary. I rented Japanese pajamas for about $1.50 to complete my experience. Everyone was very quiet and respectful and we slept way late into the day with no problem. The bathroom was nice, the shower was really nice (clean, great water pressure, relaxing) and had nice shampoo, conditioner and soap included. There is a nice kitchen, with a big fridge and pantry lockers you can use. There is a luggage storage area. They have laundry machines. There are tables and couches on the main floor for eating or socializing and relaxing. And the location was excellent. Lots of delicious restaurants and bars nearby. Tons of great shopping only a 10 minutes walk away. Would highly recommend. 10/10

STAY OSAKA SHINSAIBASHI is one of my choices when I visit Osaka. Have stayed here few times in my past trips before covid. My view: there are 2 basin at the kitchen and the filter of the 2 basins are piled up with food waste etc by the in-house guests after cooking/washing the pots etc. The scene of the basin is very disgusting for others who are using any of the basins. SUGGESTION: STAY needs to place a signage to remind guests to clear the filter after washing pots and plates. Other than that, STAY is a comfortable place to stay during your holidays.

stayed at the semi private dorm rooms which was an excellent choice. For an affordable price, you have a semi private double bed on your own even if it is in a shared room. It was spacious, beds were comfortable and the area was clean. The en suite bathroom and toilet are also kept clean and always has complete commodities. This hostel is quite big and has a big common area downstairs which they keep available 24hrs. The common area is complete with cooking stove, microwave, kettle, kitchen utensils, etc. where you can prepare your own meal. Everything is self-service and everyone is supposed to clean after their mess as should be in Japan but unfortunately there were a lot of disrespectful guests who don't know how to follow this hostel rule. Anyway, overall, my stay was comfortable and convenient. The hostel is also very closed to a train station as well as the famous Dotobori street so this is definitely worth every penny.

I had enjoyed my stay here. Location is very central. Loved the spacious common area. Kitchen is well equipped.Toilets are separated from shower area (a small distance away). Wifi was good. I opted for breakfast included, 2 of the 3 choices are to be had at nearby eateries. I liked the one which I could enjoy at the premises the most. Staff was pleasant. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in quad 2 bunk beds for 3 people. Plenty of space. Convenient. We sent our luggage from tokyo to the place which was the best decision. Not easy to get here with luggage from airport. So many people Nov 2023. Over tourism. You can send your luggage to the next destination via Family Mart opposite the road, open 24 hours. Good price. Even though you will have to pay for gowns and extra towels. So far so good. Coin Laundry, fridge for sharing. Clean and nice.

Highly recommend! The room is spacious, clean, and the beds are comfortable. Furthermore, the staff is kind and can communicate in English. However, I advise against purchasing breakfast through the hotel; it's more expensive than going to a restaurant directly.

I had a fantastic time here. My honest review: Service - very enthusiastic and helpful. Spoke English really well and check in and out is quick and hassle free. Rooms - very wide, comfy mattresses. I was in a mixed gender dormitory and it depends on who you are with, but for me everyone was respectful and considerate with being quiet so I slept well. My only issue was that since I was under a 2f bunk bed I could hear some creaking sounds whenever the person above me moved. But I had earplugs so it wasn't an issue Location- very close walk to the tourist region of dotonbori and short station to umeda so it's a fantastic location for first timers. Amenities - they give a free towel and fresh bedding sheets. I stayed over 3 days. Overall an excellent hostel experience for me.

I believe dorm guests would love this place as they have cooking facilities, a big dining area, a fridge and a decent lounge. But for the rest like us, we felt shortchanged. There’s no electric kettle and wardrobe. They only give you two clothe hangers. Strictly no eating and drinking (except for water). I think they should allow it (and not standardise this rule because of the dorm folks) since they already stated their specific penalties for staining their bedsheets, towels etc. There are two cheap (by Japanese standard) rice-in-bowl shops around here. The restaurant prices are relatively cheaper compared to Kyoto.

The train station is within a block of this place and that's so nice!! Good location. Within a 15-minute walk to Dotonbri. A lot going around in the area with restaurants, shops, and bars. Never a dull moment. Major shrines and Osaka Castle are a quick train ride away. Rooms are clean, and the private bed space is huge! One the biggest I have had the pleasure to sleep on. I'm 5'7, so at times, it's a bit cramped, so I can't imagine taller people. This will be comfortable for taller folks. Also has silk pillow cases! Very nice add-on. They did provide a cotton pillow sheet on the side if you didn't feel comfortable with the silk one. One thing I found odd is having some staff members stopping by off the usual cleaning hours. They both did announce themselves, quickly placed completef their task and left. Just be aware that staff are cleaning throughout the day at various hours.

Was not expecting such a good quality stay for a relatively low price. Shower rooms and toilets are shared across the same level but are clean, new and cozy. Loved the idea of having a common chill zone for eating, with facilities such as microwave provided. Washing machines and dryers are also provided (200 Yen for washing machine, and 100 Yen for 30mins drying). Location wise it is 3-5 mins walk away from the station, and has a Lawson (convenient store) nearby, pretty convenient I'd say. The room is average, but one of my friends complained about dusty air, but it didn't bother me as much. Overall a pretty good experience, would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable stay.

Close to the train station, very big rooms. Stayed in a room for 4. The lobby had a cooking station tons of tables and sofas. Had laundry room where machine costs 200 yen to operate and free detergent.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Stayed in the all female dorm. Place is clean. The toilet exclusive for the ladies is on a different floor, which made it difficult if you want to use it in the middle.of the night. But every floors have their own toilet but its mixed. You need to tap your key card for u to enter the floor that is for sleeping which is good. Service is good. They have a fast wifi, open and clean common area. Laundry is also available Few mins away from a subway station. Will book again.

Very nice hostel I’d suggest picking the mix dorms with the bigger bed instead of the bunk beds it was a nice change from other hostels I used! The one thing is this hostel is a little dirty, bathroom toilets need to be cleaned better. Also the toilets shoes need to be replaced.

Very nice. There are many bunkbeds in the room that I was in (maybe for 20+ beds), but they have big space to organize your luggage on the side of the room also with long table and chairs, so it's not too packed. In the cubicle, there's a bit of space next to the bed also, so it's not too squishy inside. There are many shower rooms (5 or 6 on that floor). Their common area is also nice with many tables, some sofas. Lawson is just across the building.

Love about this place, a lot! An extremely neat room, a very nice service and helpful staff, great location, and all of this they gave you a very affordable price. Took about 10-15minutes walk left side of shinsaibashi station, and 5-10 minutes walk to Dotonbori from shinsaibashi station. Don't worry about food, this place surrounded by variant restaurant and mini market just 10 feet away. You can spet your day at the famous Dotonbori just few blocks from this hotel. They have private and dorm, they have a nice place to chill at 2nd floor with many benefit for us, such as kitchen utensil ready to use, laundry start with 200Yen only, many more. My rooms was soo much comfy, big bed for me and my little kid, sofa bed, the shower room and the toilet. I really love this place, woul RECOMMEND this place to my family and friends. And oh, they have Student rates to offer you. Definetally will go back.

It's about a 10min walk from Shinsaibashi Station on the Midosuji Line, which is where you'd transfer from the Shinkansen at Shin Osaka. It's a much shorter distance from Nagahoribashi Station on the Sakaisuji Line, which unfortunately had less utility for me personally in my travels around Osaka. Regardless, returning to the hostel from both stations requires you to pass through alleyways which felt a little shady at night (although some izakayas in the area do remain open till late at night and I saw locals walking around alone). Service-wise, the receptionists on duty were prompt and accommodating, although not the most friendly. There is no water cooler, but the tap water at the Level 2 open kitchen is potable. The best part for me was how unexpectedly quiet the accommodation was. Although I stayed in an all-female dorm with a capacity of 20, everyone tried their best to be quiet when packing their things and going about the room (although as a light sleeper, waking up from night and morning noises was inevitable). The bunk itself is small with a barebones mattress & sheets + a small locker - typical great for value hostel fare, but fairly comfortable and not claustrophobic at all. Notably, there are no lockers available for luggages, so everyone in the dorm left them beside our bunks. The customer base seems to range from solo travelers to small groups and families with kids.

The stay is very clean and neat. They give you extra bed sheets also. The toilet is very clean, although sometimes some guest may be dirty while using the toilet. The stay is mostly quiet, depending who you stay with. Location is 15 minutes walk to Dotonburi, or 6 minutes if you're using Osaka metro from the nearest metro station (only upto midnight) The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is very friendly and nice. Overall would highly recommend.

Extremely quiet and clean capsule-style dorm stay in the middle of Osaka. Although there were many people staying there, everyone was respectful and quiet. The common area is a fun coffee-shop style where you can chill out in. The location was perfect and walking distance to an extremely lively part of the city, yet the actual street it is on is quiet. A great and affordable stay!

Wonderful place. Clean and cozy - we had a 2 twin bed room with bathroom - not a lot of room to do anything other than sleep but that was fine by me. For $33/night you could not complain. Fast check in/out. Helpful staff and great location. We’ll be back.

Mega hostel, well run. Big common area with plenty of seating, kitchen, super size Tv. Comfortable bed in capsule style dorm so it sleeping space feels private, cosy and comfortable. Dorm room I was in was 16 bed female dorm. The other guests had luggage & belongings everywhere. There is no real storage space for luggage so it’s all over the floor. Great location, friendly helpful staff.

This a great central hostel in Osaka. Only a block away from the train station and a short walk to Dotonbori. The dorm was spacious with a little locker for your valuables. The staff are friendly and helpful. It’s the cleanest hostel I’ve stayed at. The staff are constantly cleaning the common areas. Highly recommend!

Perfect location, perfect facilities. The kitchen had everything you may need, the bathroom is very clean. The dorm is a little dark but still does the job. Perfect value for the price.

Very nice and clean hostel on a great location in Osaka. The common area is good to work from. Don't expect too many social interactions with other travelers.

Nearest metro exit has only stairs but there was a lift within the hotel. Luggage area was very big and room had 1 shower with 2 toilets. There was also a plug behind each bed. However, the lamp only had an on and off. The lamp was very bright. The lounge area was huge with many seats and had a basic kitchen setup. Theres Lawson opposite the hotel.
