By far one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in all of Utah. The potstickers are amazing, crispy and juicy. The veggie tempura uses really high quality vegetables, and is perfectly fried with what I assume is a genius ginger sauce. Finally the chicken balgulgi bowl was spectacular, the use of both light and dark chicken meat was fantastic and some of the best chicken quality I’ve ever had. I almost forgot the very nice complementary desert at the end which was an ice cream with chocolate drizzle and whipped cream on top of a piece of bread. Thank you for the amazing food.

Everything about this place was yummy. We're prepping for a trip to Japan and there weren't many unique "Japanese" type items on the menu, but the Cheesy Don Katsu was good and the Volcano Roll Sushi was amazing! Yum!!

Arrived to an empty restaurant just before 1pm, and watched it fill up pretty quickly. The only waitstaff I saw was not just friendly, efficient, organized, and a provider of great service. She was very cool, calm & collected. A true asset to this restaurant! She handled questions beautifully, ensuring customers got a really good meal by helping them with choices based on what they like, not by her personal preferences. The food was made fast & tasted fresh. Nothing was taken past my dining table that didn't look amazing! The two sushi rolls we ordered were of a nice size, and we ended up taking home 5 leftover pieces. The only mss- My wine definitely needed a better chill on it. Don't miss your chance to find good food at a very good price. I'll definitely return and look forward to having another opportunity to enjoy one of their great options!

I love this place! The sushi is always delicious, we've never had a roll we didn't love. We always get a kick out of the roll names. The Marijay is my favorite because of the thinly sliced lemon on top. It's reasonably priced and never super crowded, unless you go during the lunch rush. This is our go to sushi place

First off, this little hole in the wall is gorgeous. Such a cute place to come on a date with your girls or the hubby. The sushi was delicious! Generous portions at very decent prices. The service was so friendly and she even brought us a complimentary appetizer for coming in! Had a great first time here. The service was quick and the waitress was friendly. The sushi was great quality and super delicious. The pot stickers were also really good and crispy. Honestly, the prices for the rolls are really good! And they're not skimpy rolls either - they were nice and fat. Would definitely come here again.

Food is good. I got cheese Don katsu and they put cheese on top of katsu and melt it. The cabbage tasted fresh. I didn't like their chair because it felt like one of those chairs you use for concerts at a local park.

I got the chicken bulgolgi bowl and a rainbow roll. The sushi is sad. It's better than gas station sushi, though. The bulgolgi is fantastic. I think that if I come again, I will skip the sushi, and just order the Korean food, as it was worth the 36 minute drive (I had to be down this way anyway). As far as service goes, there was one lady who seemed to be running everything but the kitchen. She's the waitress, busboy, cashier, etc. She was running everywhere, poor thing. She practically threw my food at me because someone walked in as she was putting it down. Overall, the only negatives are the lack of staff, and the sad sushi.

Came here with a group of friends and had a blast. The food was terrific we’re definitely coming back! The owners are so kind.

HWA is our new favorite Korean/Japanese fusion place go-to! I love their toufu soup - the best I have had in SLC so far! Their vibe/internal design is very Japanese and I love that they have set aside quite some space for each table so you can enjoy some privacy. Their service is superb and they always serve you free delicious dessert to finish the day. The only flaw of this place I would say is the speed, you just have to be patient and reserve more time, but you definitely get rewarded with hot and fresh plates coming out right from the kitchen.

Such a sweet little hidden gem ♡ Amazing food and great service. My only comment is that they bring a treat at the end rather than fortune cookies and I cannot have dairy. But I don't even care. The whole experience and food has made it our go-to sushi place now.

I enjoyed Hwa Korean & Japanese Restaurant! It was an amazing place. I like to think of it as Murray's hidden Gem. I noticed you replied, hoping to get that last star next time I visit. I'm sure you will! The place the food was amazing. I'll come around more! that last star will be fir the amazing staff. Last time I came at almost closed.

Incredibly delicious tofu soup. Wish they had purple rice, but the food was still fresh and flavorful. Reason for removing a star: I was never offered any refills on water or sides. Server never checked in and it took a long time to get my food. Still a good experience. Lovely ambiance and ample parking. Will return.

The staff was extremely friendly & courteous. They offered us veg potstickers & the dessert on the house. Philly rolls were great, I am not a fan of Duke Boki (felt they were chewy). But one of my friends liked it a lot. Overall good food and great service.

We’ve been three times in the last month since we discovered Hwa and we plan to continue going regularly. The food is delicious, the service is fast and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. We’ve enjoyed each dish so much. So far we’ve tried the galbi, beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, hot stone bowl bibimbap, kimchi jiggae, kimchi fried rice, guk mandu, dumplings, sushi, and the chunchun chicken galbi. We can’t pick a favorite. The side dishes are also excellent. I especially love that I can practice my Korean language when I go and the staff are so kind and encouraging! 감사합니다! 잘 먹었습니다!

The staff are amazing not only did they serve us potstickers on the house when we sat, they delivered the most creamy and delicious sushi I have had to this day. The Chicken Katsu was bursting with flavor and tasted like a 5 course meal when paired with the lettuce and rice glazed with sauce. And the staff gave us free dessert to end our night. 10/10 Will recommend and continue to be a customer.

Sushi us so fresh and makes for a great lunch!!! Call in an order and its better than waiting. Yum yum yum
