We LOVE this place! We live on the East side of the state and every single time we come out to the West side, we stop here (at least once). The food is definitely authentic Mexican food. So delicious. You won't be disappointed! (Btw the chips aren't the greatest unfortunately but everything else is top notch!)

Walked in a group of 4, mentioned 2 more were coming. We got chips and then was ignored for 30 minutes. I walked up and asked what the wait was because we didn’t want to wait to order because Of the other 2 and all they said was they only had 2 servers meanwhile there was 4 people containering hot sauce at a table whispering about us, 2 bussers making eye contact and saying nothing and two hosts or cashier people staring and doing nothing. We quickly realized they weren’t serving us on purpose. Absolutely horrible customer service and I will never be coming back

I heard this was the best place in Muskegon for authentic Mexican. I believe they were voted best Mexican restaurant in Muskegon as well. Great food with very spacious dining. Portions are amazing for the price. I've never seen burritos that take up an entire dinner plate. They're massive!!! I had the Enchiladas Verde. That's my go-to dish and it did not disappoint. The only disappointment you'll have is not stopping in to enjoy an evening for yourself. Bring company and share in a wonderful meal!

Ordered from here for the first tonight and had it delivered. I ordered the house wet burrito which was pretty good with decent flavor. I also has stuffed jalapenos which were also pretty good as well. My only issue was with the chips and salsa. First the chips lacked the saltiness I want on my chips these were just bland. Second the salsa for the chips while I believe it may have been homemade it really lacked any type of flavor at all. But overall I would get the burrito again and try a few other menu items...

Responsive, attentive staff working their tails off, having to sneak a bite of food for themselves when they can spare a minute. Great food, wide selection, and wonderful cheesecake for dessert to boot!

This place has pretty decent food if you're hungry and in the area. I ordered spinach tamales that were good but a bit dry. My meal came with good sides. The Margerita I got was VERY weak. And if you're looking for the worst service in town, you've come to the right place! ***My edit is, I changed it to one star. I have been in twice since my original review and talk about going down hill. Our waitress got my order completely wrong even though she asked me twice to confirm what I ordered. When I waved her over to tell her that it was wrong, all she did was laugh and say she will have them make it again. In fact, she barely let me say it was wrong.....as if she already knew it was and was waiting to see if I complained. As usual, the waitress only checked on us to hand us the bill. With as many Mexican restaurants around town, I will make another choice. San Marcos on Whitehall Rd has awesome service and delicious food in case anyone reading this needs to know.

Excellent Service and Great Food, Wonderful Margaritas ! Authentic ! And I Recommend this Restaurant, Bar to the Foodies and the Connoisseur of Great Drinks ! My fiancee was a bit upset that the Waitress didn't inform us that the 22oz top shelf margaritas were $15 each. If I had known, I wouldn't have ordered two of them. We would have saved the money and bought a decent bottle of tequila and made them at home. Otherwise, a great meal and experience.

Just ate here with my mom & her friend for dinner & we loved it! The food was so so good. I got the Fajita Combo (Steak, Chicken, & Shrimp) & it was delicious. A plenty big enough entree too. And our server Lucas was wonderful!!! He was so friendly and attentive. We had so much fun with him! He made my Mangonada Margarita too & it was quite great 🧡🍹🥑🌶️🫑🍅🌮🫔 Overall great experience I highly recommend this place for Mexican food!!!

The server we had did not want to be there, food came out at different times, and was not great. Also on the menu it said parties over 8 tip will be added... We had 7 and they added it. Which was a bad idea cause even with the subpar food and service we would have tipped more.

I had a very disappointing experience. Ordered takeout and received two of my three meals ordered. After 20 minutes of waiting on the last meal, asked how much longer before the meal would be ready and was told a couple of minutes. Twenty more minutes and nothing. In all we were waiting for over an hour, as soon as I said cancel the order a young lady went and talked to some one and instead of canceling the order, she was sent out with our food. A whole hour for enchiladas and tacos!!! Never once were we offered a complimentary pop, chips, or anything for the inconvenience. I wanted to still cancel the order but my husband said just get it and go and never come back. And that's how it will be for us. For years we have ordered from El Tapitio but never again!!!! BAD BUSINESSES TO TREAT CUSTOMERS THIS WAY!!!!

Very authentic and delicious food. Their happy hour Margheritas at $2 are a win too. Staff are super friendly. The food arrived lightning fast. Cannot praise this establishment high enough. Many visits here and always the same great experience.

I love this place and staff. But unfortunately the amount of times they give you the wrong food is crazy. Today I ordered once again and they committed the same mistake. Its the fourth time I order the Torta al Tapatio and they end up giving me the house torta. The house torta is completely different and has guacamole and beans, which are two things I hate. Unfortunately that’s 50$ that I lost and 4 full meals that I threw to the trash. Today I was tired of it and I even told the guy who took my order that this mistake happened the last three times. And even with me saying it they end up making again the house torta instead of the torta al Tapatio. It drove me crazy.

Food is always great and perfect for takeout. The service can be a little slow. It sometimes takes a while for them to bring you your menus and ask if you want something to drink.

Had the absolute best server ever here , his name is Lucas ! The food is always great , however I wish they’d change their chips , they’re always stale and salt less .

Not a good place to go. Service was slow. Food not good. I certainly wasn't there for a healthy choice but the Tacos were beyond greasy. Yuk. We watched 2 other patrons send food back for unknown reasons. I then couldn't eat a Tamal they sent out to me. Was dried out and hard as a rock. Even the soda was flat. I won't be back. Food and service was much better a couple years ago but not now. Try again El Tapatio.

I liked the experience. The food was bland though. Had the taco salad, the tortilla it was in was the best ever!! Veggies were fresh. Also had the beef chimichanga, taco meant was so bland in both meals, it didn't even taste seasoned, much less Mexican, just ground beef. If they spiced up the meat they would gave a great place! I won't get the beef if I go back.

We all liked this place. My Aunt went with us and she loved the sauce on her wet burrito. I had tamales. Could have been a little more moist but I won't ding then for that. They were definitely homemade. The server was really friendly too!

I have order many times here and the food gets to me hot and tastes amazing. My only idea would to be to give a option to leave meat out. I don't eat the meat so I have to order the taco dinner and get extra rice and pick thru my food. I will continue to order here as it's my favorite place around.

My husband and I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day yesterday, and he was so excited to show me his favorite Mexican restaurant. We got to El Tapatio, and we were instantly greeted and given menus and chips and salsa. We then sat at our table for over 35-40 minutes watching people come in, and be served drinks and have their food orders taken, all while we sat there with an empty salsa bowl and no chips. No one even glanced at us, like we didn’t exist. We ended up leaving, and nobody even noticed us leave! As parents of 3 young children, we don’t get the chance to have date nights very often, and we were excited to have a nice evening out, for a dinner that should’ve lasted an hour. Yet we ended up having to go to another restaurant to enjoy our night. We will not be returning.

My favorite tacos!! Awesome wet burritos, as well. The whole menu is amazing. Usually, my go-to is the Taco dinner with the fried shell tortillas. 😊 Price is quite a bit higher here.. Almost $15 for the taco dinner, which consists of 3 tacos and a small side of beans and rice, and a sandwich baggie filled halfway with tortilla chips.. but eh, the food is definitely always on point. 👌 The only thing with the taco dinner meal is that you have to order tortilla chips for the beans and rice side. Otherwise, they don't give ya any at all. And if you like hot sauce with it, make sure to ask for extra!!! If picking up an order- they only give you one green sauce and one red for the whole dinner. DEFINITELY, not enough. And they're super tiny. Check your bag to make sure extra sauce was added - because they usually forget.. 😕 but it's alright! They always go get more if you ask kindly. 😁

Always great food .. never had a bad experience with it Service could use a little pep in their step and a little more attentiveness, but they are alwasy very kind, happy to be of service and welcoming. Had many items on the menu, the Carnitas and Barbacoa are the main reasons I go here. And I feel like they have the better tamales in town 😋

EXCELLENT tacos. Got the authentic style with chorizo on fried shells. The margarita was great and the chicken fajitas were very delicious. I actually loved their guacamole too and I usually dislike the stuff. Atmosphere wise it was a bit simple but not off putting. I think I used the wrong bathroom too as the different sets aren't labeled between employee ones and public ones. Will definitely go back for that good though!

I sat down and ordered a a lime margarita, and a taco salad...after being told they didn't serve wet burritos. It took about 25 minutes to receive the food. I never received the margarita, but was asked if I wanted water, and I got that. Asked for red and green sauces for the salad, and she brought me tapatio hot sauce and asked if I wanted more salsa. Not sure if it was a communication error or what. Food was great. Could have used more veggies, but it was decent.

First visit, undecided and will go again to try more. Ate there for the first time today and had the barbacoa and pork cazuela taco. Both tacos had good flavor but the cilantro was dry and some of it brown which I took off. I really liked their homemade corn tortillas, they were excellent. The salsas lacked flavor which maybe is so they aren’t spicy but will ask for hot salsa next time. It’s a big place inside and the waitress was very friendly, all staff had masks one and hand sanitizer at the door.

A lovely place to eat, and the atmosphere is that of a family owned and run business. The host and waitress were amazing, there for everything and anything you need. Only thing that got me, was no Valentina hot sauce, but that's why it's called Tapatios! I will be going back loved it!

Entrees were not good. Meat was tough, rice was exceedingly bland. Waitress brought me the wrong drink. I'm diabetic and was served a cherry coke. Food was definitely overpriced. I will never go back here. El Burrito Loco is much much better!

I don't know about the food but the service or lack there of was horrible. We were in town for the weekend for a graduation. We walked in on a Saturday ( May 14) at approx 8:30pm. Their website says open until 10pm. We walked in to secure seating for 8 and a female employee walked up to the counter, without a word and props up a laminated sign that days NO DINE IN and walks away to talk with other employees as we were left standing there dumbfounded. Thoroughly confused as there were people dining in the restaurant but they were far from being busy.

Don't be fooled by the humble exterior - this place is just as cozy and charming as can be inside, and the food and service are both top-notch! Family-run, serving up obviously homemade dishes with very fresh and delicious ingredients. The cheesecake burrito for dessert will change your life!

I'm a regular customer and not once have I had a negative experience. The food is amazing. I bring different friends there and it's become their favorite place too! My $2.00 margarita was so good.

Good place for Mexican food. However, didn't care for the waitress not asking or just getting more refills on the pop.
