Don't get me wrong, this a beautiful, updated hotel with good staff. However. The rooms had the worst beds in a hotel I've ever slept on. The room was clean and had nice amenities, but I don't think I could stay here again knowing I'd have a sore back every time I slept here.

Our room had crumbling plaster, thin walls, mildly gross bedding, and a shower that leaked all over the floor. The conference center was more than adequate and the provided meals were very good, but the small things (such as overflowing restroom trash cans and empty hand soap dispensers) were often overlooked. For context, I recently spent a week at the Avalon Marriott Autograph Collection hotel in Alpharetta, GA. Both rooms cost $280/night, but the Avalon was an amazing experience with beautiful rooms and attentive staff.

So far, the rooms are nice, but the beds are hard and the blankets are itchy. The staff has all been very nice and helpful. The restaurant is the biggest reason I have few stars. I ordered French Onion Soup. It basically tasted like someone dumped an entire salt shaker in it and it was Luke warm. I ordered two "double" jack and cokes which I paid 14 dollars a piece for. Both of them tasted like Coke. In that tiny little glass, I should have tasted Jack IF they were doubles. Perhaps I will adjust my stars as the stay goes, but for now; not impressed. Oh, and the hot tub is closed too. Huge thumbs down.

They couldn't break a 100$ bill so we couldn't buy anything from their store. The hot tub was broken, they charged 360$ for two standard queen beds, the front staff said they would give us points for the inconveniences but never did. She yelled across the lobby at my husband and made everyone feel awkward. They also said no military discount today because they are busy and don't offer it when they get busy. 🙄 I counted half rooms full that night. Never going back there again. Crazy how bad customer service has become there.

An okay hotel. Not up to the usual Marriott standard I’m use to. The rooms are relatively clean, no microwave and the mini fridge is the smallest I’ve ever seen. The Wi-Fi is terrible, not great when trying to conduct business while traveling. Hot tub is out of order. Hallways were really dirty. Staff was friendly but it was weird, I called to ask about paying extra for high speed internet so I could work, and they gave me a fake password for the conference room…just found that rather odd. Great location though!

Rooms and service was great. Only wished there were microwaves in the room and not downstairs as well as the spa was down. Otherwise it was great.

Hotel was clean but dated. Paint peeling. Doors hard to open and close. There was a constant noise that sounded like a garbage truck. We were on the top floor and think maybe it was the hydraulics of the elevator? Staff were great. Very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Hot tub was closed. Phones (including front desk) went out of commission. And then there was a power surge and most power was lost. Bathroom was nice but water pressure was so low it was hard to shower. Way too expensive for what was offered.

Pros: Employees were very nice. Bathroom was clean. Plenty of towels. Cons: The room to the door stuck so you had to push really hard to get in, making us think our key didn't work. The walls in the room were in desperate need of being wiped down. No shampoo or conditioner included. Just a makeup remover wipe, lotion, and bar soap. Big disappointment for the price. Would not recommend. It appears to look like a nice hotel until you start seeing all the missing accommodations. Breakfast was $15 per person. A sad buffet. Thankfully the server was great.

Stayed this past weekend and loved the hotel and room. The view from the 8th floor was great looking into the lake/bay area with the ships. Parking across the street was convenient and free. We had another vehicle in the free parking structure too! Whatever fragrance is sprayed in the lobby via diffuser smells SO good! Dinner Friday night was great! The spinach artichoke dip was phenomenal; probably one of the best I've had! Our guests had a burger, beet salad (looked delicious) Veggie bake, Cesar salad, grilled cheese sandwich and the warmed spinach salad. The spinach salad was requested with no bacon dressing or bacon in the salad, yet it still came out with bacon bits. We didn't get a chance to check out the Starbucks (limited hours) by the bar or the gym area. Breakfast buffet for $13 was decent and better than anticipated - scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage, gravy/biscuits, french toast and pancakes. Drinks were included. Just a few minor complaints. Hotel restaurant is open until 11 but was disappointed that when we ordered drinks & apps at 9:45 and 15 minutes later, the bar tender came back and said oh sorry, the kitchen shut down. We can't get your app but here's your soup. He proceeded to let us know that he got yelled at when he put the order in and the cooks were working 12+ hours.. Not once were we told the kitchen was shutting down and it would've been great to know prior to ordering otherwise we would've gone elsewhere. Secondly, breakfast buffet doesn't provide any bread options for their sides nor did they have any cereals/milk. No toast, bread, bagels/cream cheese, etc. Its just the biscuits. They did have fresh fruit and granola though. I was put off when a bunch of early 20 somethings came in doing tiktok videos by the bar, barefoot and were being loud. We did get out of there as soon as we could. I would definitely recommend the hotel itself. Room was clean and tidy (requested specific pillows and towels and the staff did supply those,) bathroom was a bit small, but bright, beds were comfy and I didn't hear anyone else in our hallway. Front desk was SUPER friendly and answered all our questions through the Marriott App. Thank you Delta Marriott for the hospitable experience.

Front desk staff were helpful and pleasant, room was clean and nicely laid out. This is a fairly new renovation and the upgrades are very chic. There was no tub in my room only a shower but it was really nice. I was able to use the pool and hot tub all alone and the poolside towels are excellent. The whole space was well maintained and clean. It was a really pleasant and comfortable stay. I can’t really comment on value as I had to go for a work event so it was a block rate. But I was on the 4th floor and could view the lake from my window which was quite pleasant.

Wow. This place is amazing! The free parking is what drew me to stay here (along with the location). I booked a regular King room, but got put into an ADA room instead (which turned out fine as the bathroom is usually bigger, needed more shelves though). The rooms were amazingly quiet, doors didn't have a gap underneath, and the room doors didn't really slam shut! The only "huh" bit for me was the very LOUD flush from the toilet (heard 3 flushes within about 10 seconds one morning lol). The TV had your own Netflix/Prime log-in options available. The mini-fridge was WAY too small so we could barely fit our take away containers in it along w/ some water bottles/beer. The pool had so much chlorine in it, it looked murky (you couldn't see the other end until you were about 3 feet away under water). The hot tub was closed while we were there. Only one elevator was working so it got quite busy in the mornings/evenings (we took the stairs just to avoid people). The bar downstairs (Walker's) has the best bartender, Lisa! She's very good with her drinks suggestions based off of your likes. She deserves a raise! I'd 100% stay here again if given the chance!

Can't recommend this place is you're here to vacation. Nothing is free, pretty sure the 2 bottles of water they put in your room cost money because there is no indication they don't. Elevator was out the second day, phone system is down, parking lot spacing is awful, good luck getting out of your car. Ramp to lower parking area is very steep and may scrape the bottom of your car. No included continental breakfast. Find some place better. Bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn't provide the best privacy. Shower is small.

We've stayed here before and had an okay experience. I was very disappointed in the price of the rooms. Our bathroom door was broken and did not close. Other peopls toilets were very loud all night long.

Spent 1 night for a quick sleep. Staff was friendly on a Sunday night. Room was really nice, clean. Queen beds were comfy & we slept well. Mini fridge in room, kuerig for coffee. Great shower in bathroom. Hallways were nicely quiet for sleeping.

For the price I would have expected a nicer room. Not that the room was bad, it was just very expensive. The elevators and hallways leading up to the room seem to be poorly maintained and can probably use a coat of paint. To say it bluntly the hallway specifically looked really run down. The staff was amazing! They clearly cared and were super helpful.

The sliding door for the bathroom KEPT GETTING STUCK and made such a loud and terrible noise upon opening/closing. I understand wanting to be trendy and keeping up with the times but there is nothing wrong with a regular door for a bathroom. The room itself was nicely cared for. The front desk personnel were nice, just had to keep repeating myself and I don't think my NY accent is that strong. I was misinformed about there being an ADA ramp in the back entrance which caused some unnecessary double trips. It's important to know what (and where) your hotel offers accomodations and give the correct information to your guests.

Very impressive lobby. Front desk staff was kind and informative. We had an amazing stay. Our bed was very comfortable, something I don’t usually say when we are traveling. We were so happy to see a clean room with wonderful amenities. We were so happy with our room that we stayed another day. Would highly recommend staying at the Muskegon Delta, my new favorite place.

For the price, I should have stayed at the other hotel close by. There was no breakfast included and there was no hot tub. When I pay that much for a room, I always bring my swim trunks for the hot tub. So, I'm sorry but I cannot ever return to this hotel considering all expensive hotels always have included breakfast and hot tub. Can you see why I was so surprised?

Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. During routine housekeeping maintenance, housekeeping stole two of my credit cards and used them for a period of three weeks until we noticed the fraud on our account. Do not allow housekeeping to enter your room during your stay. You could become a victim. Police report was filed.

We had dinner, French Dip & it was very good. Had crispy onions on it & that was an added depth. McKenna was our server & she was pleasant & knowledgeable of the menu. We liked her very much 🤩

This hotel was perfect. It was clean, in a good location and it was easy access. Love that the parking is so close to the entrance and elevators. Would definitely stay here again.

I have to lead this with the staff seem very supportive and helpful but I still will look for a different accommodations when I return. People running and yelling down the halls all night, stomping from the room above. For our first night, we did not sleep. When getting coffee at the Starbucks in the hotel, they don’t allow you to use the app. You have to pay with card/cash/or charge to the room. I’m sorry, I think this is a scam. I pre paid Starbucks and use the rewards… so when said Starbucks rewards are not acceptable for a Starbucks…. How is that being a good host? Plus the shower was only luke-warm the entire stay. The hotel looks nice but will only be the last option before staying again.

We went there for a girls hockey tournament with 3 teams from our organization. The staff was completely rude the entire stay. There was no food available at regular business hours. Starbucks was opened for about 3 hours a day. When we brought in a pizza to eat in the lobby, the police were called, yet ZERO food to be purchased at hotel! From the check-in, to check-out, the stay was a mess. Disorganized, unfriendly, and unaccommodating. We had 40+ rooms and our entire group agreed to never stay at your hotel again. It is a nice property with potential, but this is a management problem. It is the manager’s responsibility to properly train its employees and the management is clearly not doing their job. Absolutely do not recommend staying at Delta in Muskegon, MI. We witnessed numerous people of all ages and genders being hassled by the lazy staff who had inconsistent rules for the lobby. Some people were able to eat food in the lobby, while other had the police called on them. We witnessed the hotel staff kick a group of 10yr old girls out of the lobby for painting their nails, while it was acceptable to the same staff for a 50yr old man to be vaping in the lobby. The receptionist with the false eye lashes gave our parents an attitude for zero reason when being asked a question. The bartender was rude, closed the bar early and not accommodating at all. Never, ever, ever again, we will stick to tournaments that appreciate our business and kind to the kids that just want their nails polished with team colors. We definitely don’t recommend staying here until they figure out how to treat their customers. Remember, if it wasn’t for us, you wouldn’t be open.

We were there with a team for a tournament. There were business rooms available to all the teams staying at the hotel on a first-come basis, which was great. We utilized one of the rooms on our second night to throw a pizza party for the team (a group of 11/12 year old girls) and their parents. We were asked to remove all cans and bottles of alcohol from the meeting room, which we did immediately. Forty minutes later the same rude manager returned with an entourage of Muskegon police requesting that we vacate the room. At that time time we were all just playing board and card games. Our understanding is that the hotel wanted the parents to patronize the on-site bar, which had no draught beer (due to a fire) and was out of liquor for multiple drinks on their menu. The hotel was nice and the location was great, however, due to the incredibly unprofessional treatment by the manager I would not recommend staying at this particular hotel. In fact, the Shoreline Inn across the street was beautiful and our friends enjoyed a wonderful stay there!

What a great stay last week. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, beds were nice and comfortable and all the staff were very polite and helpful. Didn't eat at the restaurant they had, but utilized the bar. Great gathering place, drinks very reasonable and a nice view of Muskegon Lake.

Meh. For the price I expected luxury. Not an older hotel with the looks of an older hotel. Location was great. Free parking. Rooms need to be stripped and updated. Not just new furniture and fresh paint. Room smelled of tanning lotion Cheap update. Now the bathroom was darn clean. Kudos to that.

The room was satisfactory... however the pool was murky, the hot tub had a layer of thick foam on top( which we steered clear of), the adult swim curfew also was not very well enforced(multiple children remained in pool until 11:15), and the breakfast was made to seem complimentary until we were presented a hefty tab after dining. After what was charged for the room breakfast should have been included for what it was(nothing special). The workout room was very nice as well.

This is a wonderful modern hotel that has all you can ask for. The rooms themselves are comfortable, spacious, clean, and modern looking. They also have a nice lobby, a bar, restaurant, convention rooms, fitness center, and a pool and hot tub. The staff was also very helpful and gives great information about what to do in the area. Additionally, the location is very optimal to downtown Muskegon where you can easily walk into town. There’s nothing more you can ask for. I 100% recommend staying here.

Looks clean. Staff seams friendly. Rooms need some cleaning up, carpet needs vacuuming, bedspreads should be washed more often, the safety on the door is of no use when it's not attached to anything, NO MICROWAVE, TINY FRIDGE, no laundry bag, 2 glasses & cups for 4 people, no luggage stand, pillows are too soft, no trashcan in hallway, can hear everything around you, every time someone opens or closes a door our door rattles, parking is across the road or down steps, poor lighting in bathroom, toilet paper is behind you on the wall, wallpaper is peeling, A/C-heating unit is loud, Liked having all the outlets and charging ports, but not all worked. They have lots of luggage carts. The elevator is fast. A restaurant is in the hotel. Pool and hot tub are open late and have adult only time. Decent size tv. Lights are part of the headboard.

We stayed in this hotel during the Memorial Day weekend. It was a busy time due to some hockey games at the arena. The rooms were decent, but the check in experience wasn’t very good. I had no clue there won’t be any housekeeping. I found out only when my room wasn’t cleaned. They provided me with breakfast vouchers since the lounge is closed, but that was probably thr worse breakfast I’ve seen. For $13, they didn’t offer even toast or oatmeal! This was my first experience staying at a delta property, and as someone who is loyal to Marriott, I probably expected more!

We were here for a hockey tournament. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to entertainment, restaurants, bars, museums, etc. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. I would stay here again and recommend it to other hockey families coming to Muskegon for a tourney.

Hotel is nice and clean, in a decent part of the city, and very convenient to the ice arena and social district. Fairly updated but materials used are cheap, vinyl flooring has bubbles throughout, caulking in the bathroom was done by a butcher, hot water sings a symphony in our room until it warms up, and the doors have many issues. I was stuck in the bathroom for 5 minutes because the sliding barn door wouldn't open and the room door has to be slammed to close.

  • 4/5 S R. 2 years ago on Google
Great location over looking downtown. Updated rooms, comfortable beds and pillows. Pool and hot tub were nice, we did not eat at the restaurant but it was very nice in there will dimmed lighting, fireplace and outdoor seating. I'm only giving it a 4 because the windowsill was full of paint chips. Being a mother of 3 little ones who love to look out the window it should have been cleaned out. Rooms were a little small but still comfortable.
