I would give it 6 stars if I could. The owners have poured their hearts and souls into this place. They will do everything in their powet to ensure you are taken care of. They will help you book any tickets and will sit down and plan your stay in Myanmar. They provide a great and healthy breakfast. It's super clean with huge bathrooms and beds. It's in a great area close to a nice grocery store and lots of things to do. On our last day, they let us store our bags and shower at the hostel before our flight home in the evening. We caught terrible food poisoning from another restaurant and they took wonderful care of us. I can't wait to go back and see our lovely Burmese family.

The staff is amazing, they really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable here. I ended up getting Dengue Fever and they got me a taxi to the hospital, I didn't have to lift a finger- everything was taken care of (which is a huge relief when you're sick and far away from home). The food was great & the beds are super comfortable (and big!). Highly recommend staying here if you want a little slice of home away from home. Thanks guys!

Shwe Yo Hostel has a special place in my heart after a few weeks in Myanmar. The location here is good, and the staff are spectacular. They are extraordinarily helpful in all manner of what you might need, whether it's your first time in Myanmar or if you're back in Yangon after a time away around the country. The owners are so friendly--they just love to shoot the breeze with the guests and hang out, and also answer any and all questions you might have: Burmese language, getting around, exchange rates, bus info, and even helpful hints and warnings about tourist "traps"! Shwe Yo offers free tickets on the city train that goes in a loop around Yangon and into the country. This is a fun, chill afternoon and a great way to meet locals and see a whole lot you wouldn't otherwise. The owners also provide a wonderful home cooked meal for breakfast every morning -- they take great pride in it and for good reason! It's usually simple but quite satisfying. Cleanliness is just fine--the rooms are well-maintained, and the bathroom has no issues. There isn't too much space--the hostel fills up very quickly and the common area is rather small--but honestly, this is more than made up for by the stellar workers, the icy A/C (!) and the breakfast.

Great, clean hostel. There are lockers in the rooms for valuables and the beds are comfortable. Each bunk in the dorms has its own socket, light, and curtains. The showers and rooms are cleaned daily. The free breakfast is incredible. We've stayed here both times we were in Yangon and will come back if we ever return to Myanmar.

The hostel is in a central location in Yangon, close to China and town and within walking distance to many downtown attractions. Friendly, accommodating staff. The cafe within the hostel opens during the day and evening. Lovely selection of food, light and simple breakfast included in the booking. Was in an 8 person room with only 3 at the most. Quiet respectful patrons at the time I was staying. I was anxious about travelling alone in Myanmar for a few days but this hostel gave a sense of safety. The only downside I could say is the bathrooms were lacklustre but nothing out of the ordinary for a shared space. Given the price and location, it is worth the price! Special mention to the beautiful artwork, I particularly felt calm in my room with a painting of Inle Lake!

Fabulous hostel. Booked one up the road for a dollar less a night and left with a refund. This one is worth way more than that. Clean, comfy, well thought out for privacy, chill and quiet but sociable nice guys running it. Will be back if we need a night again in Yangon!

Staff is friendly and very willing to help. The rooms are right on top of reception / hall which makes it very easy to not sleep while people are still making noise. Breakfast is not what you’re used to from european / American standards, as they serve you a noodle soup.

This hostel is the best. They so helpful and kind. They can help in everything, always have good advice, nice words and smiles. Free coffee all the time (I’m a coffee addict :) ), and the breakfast is not just a toast and jam, it is a piece of art in taste and in look. Clean bathroom, room with AC, nice staff. Absolutely recommeded.

As a seasoned backpacker, I can safely say this is one of the best hostels I’ve been to. It is super clean, and you can tell that the innkeeper takes very good care of the place. They also serve daily local breakfast and provide very helpful advice on what to do/how to get around. As a plus point, there is a spacious lobby area where many travelers gather to chat so it’s a great place to trade experiences. Many thanks to the owner for helping us get to Bagan on time!

Fantastic hostel! Staff are super attentive and helpful! The food there is delicious, we ate breakfast and lunch there everyday and it was better than anywhere else (we even ate at expensive restaurants). Only issue was private room on the ground floor was a bit noisy. Showers are good and hot and room had air conditioning. They picked us up from the airport and it was overall an excellent experience.

🫤 It's a small hostel in a dirty big city. The hostel is downtown and is the place to be when you want to go out to have some drinks and good food. It's very close to Chinatown where the food is pretty nice. The Hostel itself is small and have no big or nice lobby where you can hangout. We had a very...
