Shwe
Yo
Hostel
has
a
special
place
in
my
heart
after
a
few
weeks
in
Myanmar.
The
location
here
is
good,
and
the
staff
are
spectacular.
They
are
extraordinarily
helpful
in
all
manner
of
what
you
might
need,
whether
it's
your
first
time
in
Myanmar
or
if
you're
back
in
Yangon
after
a
time
away
around
the
country.
The
owners
are
so
friendly--they
just
love
to
shoot
the
breeze
with
the
guests
and
hang
out,
and
also
answer
any
and
all
questions
you
might
have:
Burmese
language,
getting
around,
exchange
rates,
bus
info,
and
even
helpful
hints
and
warnings
about
tourist
"traps"!
Shwe
Yo
offers
free
tickets
on
the
city
train
that
goes
in
a
loop
around
Yangon
and
into
the
country.
This
is
a
fun,
chill
afternoon
and
a
great
way
to
meet
locals
and
see
a
whole
lot
you
wouldn't
otherwise.
The
owners
also
provide
a
wonderful
home
cooked
meal
for
breakfast
every
morning
--
they
take
great
pride
in
it
and
for
good
reason!
It's
usually
simple
but
quite
satisfying.
Cleanliness
is
just
fine--the
rooms
are
well-maintained,
and
the
bathroom
has
no
issues.
There
isn't
too
much
space--the
hostel
fills
up
very
quickly
and
the
common
area
is
rather
small--but
honestly,
this
is
more
than
made
up
for
by
the
stellar
workers,
the
icy
A/C
(!)
and
the
breakfast.
