It is a must see if you decide to visit Mrauk u. There are many temples and stupa where you just wall around or see from.distamce or climb up to them but this one is a big one which you also can enter and walk around inside and see all the Buddha statues and as me who were here at rain season, hide from the rain storm!

This is a evidence of Arakan Kingdom. The structure and architecture of this temple is very interesting. It is worth to be in the record of the UNISCOO. It is worth to spend time here and to study about the Religion of the Arakan Kingdom. Local people are very friendly and they are keen to explain about the history of the temple.

A must see among the temples. Wonderful spiral interior tunnel, lined with large Buddhas, that ends in a central interior chamber with natural light.

Built in 1571 by King Min Phalaung. The feature of Htukkant Thein is a big Stupa in center and four smaller stupa at the corners. It looks like a fortress more than a temple, built on raised ground, with a single entrance and small windows. Interior is amazing. There are three chambers , linking by outer and inner looping corridors. Lining the corridor are Buddha images in niches. On each side of the niches are sculpted male and a female figures said to represent the donors who financed construction to the temple. There are total 180 Buddha images (179 smaller ones along the corridors, and 1 at the central vaulted chamber)
