The food was excellent and the service was very friendly and attentive. They gave great recommendations and checked in on us periodically. The atmosphere was very fun and kept the kids entertained. The kids loved the peanuts and the table covering they could color. The onion rings were HUGE and delicious. The burgers were absolutely delicious. This will be a must everytime we are in Myrtle Beach.

Talk about BURGERS! I don’t think I’ve seen a more diverse burger menu. If you’re looking for a delicious one of a kind burger - this is it!! I ordered a burger with chili, mustard, and onion. It reminded me of Skyline Chili in Ohio - same flavor but instead of a hotdog it was on a burger. It was absolutely the best burger I had in the Myrtle Beach area. If you order onion rings with it be prepared for them to bring you ONE GIANT RING.

Wonderful service and great fries! Solid presentation! My food came out quickly and was served hot! The waitress followed up to see how I liked the food, which was just the right amount of follow up. This place has at least 200 combinations of hamburger. The veggie burger didn't taste good. It needs more black beans to help it stay together. It's also a bit crowded and the birds flying around inside the porch area made think I wasn going to get blessed from overhead... Also, the ventilation isn't too good; the place smells a bit musty-even outside. Edit: I love that the owner responded to my feedback! I look forward to giving the burger another try! I am glad that you didn't use beyond burger; I don't go to restaurants to eat what I can cook at home :) .

River City is your classic beach town restaurant with traditional entrees ranging from salads, sandwiches to burgers and seafood. Our meals were quite good served hot. The atmosphere is a rustic, rundown, traveler eclectic spot with writings and license plates all over the building. Service was pretty good. Our wait staff checked on us frequently to ensure all was good. Seems like every time we're in MB, we stop here to get a meal. Drink menu is full of beers, cocktails and specialty drinks.

One of the best dining experiences we had while visiting Myrtle Beach! My husband and I both ordered the grilled onion cheese burger, but we chose turkey burger Pattie’s over beef. We upgraded to a splatter which included a side and some cole slaw. My husband’s side was French fries and mine was onion rings. The onion rings were HUGE, but delicious and hand battered. Burgers were handmade in house, not frozen, and they were seasoned to perfection. I am 6 months pregnant and could not finish my burger. We also shared an order of cheese bites (cheese curds), and they were AMAZING. Service was great and we received our food relatively quickly. It’s definitely not a fancy spot, just a no frills burger joint, but it was delicious! Oh, and every table is given a basket of peanuts.

Rainy day but there was seating inside when we went. Waitress was super friendly and attentive. Burgers were phenomenal. I highly recommend the pretzel bun. It elevated the entire dish to a higher level. Onion rings are huge. I only ate one and had no room for more. The breading was flavorful and the onion was great. Best cheeseburger and onion rings in South Carolina. We have been going to this restaurant for the past 7 years. We love this place. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hamburgers are freshly made and you can choose whatever items you want on your burger. The onion rings are fresh homemade and they are huge and yummy.

Great food! Super fun atmosphere. My kids both got the Fried Mac & Cheese Burger (veggie burger patty) and loved it. And they are really picky, so I was extra happy. I had the amazing Nacho Crunch Burger (veggie patty). SO good! Very spicy and also delicious. Fries and onion rings were all well-received and the Cheese Pops (cheese curds) were a huge hit with everyone. Very busy so service was a bit slow, but we had a dice game with us so that kept us occupied and distracted from the wait. Overall, it was a really great meal!

On April 4, 2022 and June 8, 2022, I dined at River City Cafe. On 4/4, I ordered sweet tea, a Mac & cheese Turkey burger and cheese fries. I've never had a Mac & cheese Turkey burger before, but I'm glad I tried it. Overall, my meal was yummy. On 6/8/22, I ordered the Mac & Cheese Turkey burger again. Plus, I order the buffalo bites as an appetizer which were really tasty. It was like eating a juicy bite of fresh, perfectly seasoned white meat. My sister in the Lord ordered the Surf & Turf Turkey burger with sweet potatoe waffle fries which she enjoyed greatly. Sam was our waitress and she provided exceptional service as well. Both experiences were great and I will absolutely be back again the next time I visit Myrtle Beach.

Fun laid back place with good all American food. Picnic tables and friendly service. The OMG burger was huge but wished it was a bit better. Overall great place to kick back with friends. Cheers!!

Wow! Unique burger choices, fun atmosphere and super friendly server. Definitely the best burger in MB! Love the peanuts appetizer and burgers are the star of the show here. Try the bacon and peanut butter burger, I know it sounds weird but it is fantastic. Onion rings and fries are also great. No beer on tap, but they have cans and a souvenir plastic cup.

Good place to get a pretty thick burger. Walking distance to the beach and coffee shop (Starbucks). They were very busy during our visit but everything worked out. Our waitress was kind enough to offer us to share fries instead of ordering separately, and that worked out for me and my wife. Bring a sharpie and you can leave your message on the wall of license plates 😃.

My family and I are visiting North Myrtle Beach and wanted to try a new restaurant. We arrived at a good time and were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and our burgers were well seasoned. We also had regular fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. The only thing I would pass on is the coleslaw because it had raisins in it and I just didn’t like it. The atmospheric was cute and it’s a small location, but the food and service were good. Definitely worth a try!

My family and I had such a great experience. The food is affordable buy delicious. Def the best burgers I've ate while visiting Myrtle Beach. Stephanie was our waitress she was so attentive and kind!! I will go back over and over from now till forever!!! My kids loved the free peanuts!! It's very cheap compared to most places around here. My kids ate for 8.00 that included burger,fries and souvenir 🥤 The blooming onion was the best of all we got!! I'm a fan!! P.s we signed the license plate wall, and we are excited to come see it every year when we visit!!

Stumbled across this little jewel of a restaurant. Heard about the "Kitchen Sink Burger Platter" and had to give it a try. Absolutely amazing!!! The onion straws were a great appetizer as well. Definitely worth a visit!

The food here is sooooooo good. The best burgers ever. One star off as I know it is their thing to be a dive bar, but sitting at the bar waiting for a table, watching the kitchen- the staff were all great! The kitchen needs to be renovated and made more modern. Shelving is out of date. The cord (I am guessing) that goes to the attic looks like a big piece of dust hanging from the ceiling. The kitchen aesthetic was just off. The sticky floors and tables, etc. Not great, but River City lives off of being a dive. The plastic waste is ado so bad for the environment. But the burgers are so worth it so we will return each year we go to Myrtle.

Walked to the restaurant from our hotel. We ate there because of the good reviews. We walked in and had a 5 minute wait. While waiting we checked out the funky atmosphere. Both me and my son loved it. The staff was friendly and as nice as they could be. It was crowded but we got seated and our order was taken right away. We order the blooming onion as a appetizer and we ordered burgers for our meal. I had the Texas BBQ burger and can’t remember what kind my son ordered. Both was off the chain!! Onion was hot and crispy and absolutely delicious. Loved it all. We will be comeback on our next visit. Oh and the prices were great for the food you get Especially at the beach.

This is my second time eating at this place. You literally don’t even find burgers this cheap very often anymore (especially with inflation being this high). Places like this always deserves special recognition in my book. If they can afford to operate at the prices they do, then so can most other places. It’s all in how much profit is being made and I appreciate this place not robbing people. They are mostly unique burgers and they are very delicious. I was just as satisfied the first time I went years before this visit. They have great tasting sauces. Everything on the burgers are seasoned well and tastes amazing.

Great food and great staff!!! The Jalapeño Bacon Jam Burger is fantastic! The perfect combination of spicy, sweet and savory! EDIT: This was our second time here this week and it did not disappoint! If you love a really good burger and a super chill atmosphere with a menu that won't break the bank, this is the spot! Everyone ordered something different from what we had earlier this week and, again it was fantastic! I also remembered to take a pic BEFORE all the food was gone this time...bonus!

Atmosphere is a little dated but overall, this was a great experience. The service was on point. The food was hot and fresh. Mike was our server and was excellent. The license plates and writing on the walls gives it a "No shoes, no shirt, no problem" kinda vibe. We had the Blooming onion, Texas chili, Philly cheese steak, Shoe string burger and Ruben. Generous portions too!

Great experience and great food. Loved the peanuts. 🥜 it's a unique place with crazy burgers and options for non red meat eaters. My son got the fish. And my original burger was fantastic. We also got the sweet potato fries. The Mac and cheese burger was also very good. I forget what my brother got but it's in one of the photos I posted.

This was our first outing in Myrtle Beach and it did not disappoint. It was busy but we were able to get seated within 10 mins. The food was good! We ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer which was a great start. We both ordered delicious burgers and the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm burger bougie and like to taste seasoning on my burger. Otherwise I'd highly recommend stopping here!

This place was very good! The waitress was attentive, the atmosphere was fun and exciting (license plates from everywhere) and the food was good! I'll definitely come back here again!

Had their cheese steak was decently good. As was the onion blossom appetizer both at a reasonable price. Wanted to try their clam chowder but they were out. Went back a couple days later as I herd they had a good burger and am very happy to say what I herd was true! I'll be back for the burgers!

We were recommended to try this place by the manager at the hotel we were staying at. We were not disappointed! All the food we ordered was fantastic, as were the margaritas! They serve peanuts while you wait to order, although the piles of peanut shells on the floor are kind of a turn-off. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 burgers. Everything arrived promptly, and the food was hot and fresh. The fried mushrooms were perfectly cooked, and the panko crusted oversized onion rings were crispy and delicious! Both burgers were cooked perfectly and came out as ordered. The only complaints we had were that the bathrooms were not clean, and we waited a bit for our check once we were finished. Overall, I would definitely return and fully recommend this place to anyone staying in the Myrtle Beach area.

I always try to visit local hot-spots while on vacation. This place did not disappoint. The burgers were fantastic and fries amazing! Outdoor seating is nice with one of a kind atmosphere. Friendly staff that was very attentive. I will say, this was my favorite dining spot during this trip. If you haven't tried it, you should! Plan on spending $35-$45 for 2 people including tip.

Our first night in Myrtle Beach and we chose River City Cafe. We were so glad that we did. Now it was 745 pm on a Sunday night so we knew a long wait was going to be had so we were not surprised by the 1 hour wait time given. But we were pleasantly surprised when they texted 30 minutes later saying the table was ready. Aron was our server. He did a great job answering all of the questions we had. The food came out in a timely manner, prepared to order and presented well. These burgers were large and very delicious. Now the cheese fries did not live up to the bar that the burgers had set but still okay. They have a great variety of burgers. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Nice variety of burgers/sandwiches to choose from. I had the 3-alarm fire burger which was okay but I didn't taste any heat so I had to add my own. My wife got the Jamaican jerk chicken burger. We love that Jamaican jerk sauce. It's similar to the sauce that Steak and Shake used on the Jamaican jerk steak burger (which was their best item that they need to bring back). But the grilled chicken on the jerk chicken burger was a little chewy and not that tender. I would like to come back and try the Hawaiian style Island burger next time.
