Mrs. Penn and her Husband catered our Family Reunion on Labor Day this past weekend. And I must say she went over and beyond by accommodating over 100 of my family members that traveled from near and far. Every last person said how good the food was. We even had food left over that people took home with them. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!. A little back story: I never made physical contact with Mrs. Penn, we communicated with each other via email and text messages. I needed a caterer fast being that our reunion was two weeks away. She was very understanding and agreed to cater the event. When I finally walked in the restaurant the day before our Reunion, it was my first time ever meeting her and her husband. Both of them were welcoming and ensured me that we would have more than enough food and the food was going to taste great. And she was RIGHT!. As I walked out of the restaurant a couple was sitting outside eating lunch and confirmed that the food was delicious. So if anyone needs a caterer and want authentic southern cuisine in Myrtle Beach, PLEASE STOP IN AND ENJOY THE DELICIOUSNESS!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU MRS PENN! This was my second time visiting from New Jersey. I will say the first time we went the food and service was beyond amazing. They were very welcoming like we were Family. The food was a good even portion very tasty and I believed I received my monies worth. This second time it was a different lady taking our order and she was not the friendliest. I asked for a catfish dinner fried hard with greens and butter beans no rice with gravy. My sides were good but my fish was extremely thin like a strip, there were two pieces but only one was catfish. I would have spoken on it while we were there but we had the order to go. I will return again because I really want to be sure that was a one time thing. The food like I said was great the first time so maybe this day was an off day.

Very good soul food. I stumbled upon this place by accident and boy I am glad I did. I ordered the fried catfish. It was soooo good. Cooked to perfection. The owner was very nice and talked to me about where I am from and how did I end up there. Very homey and I would return if I am ever in the area

Someone at the resort I stayed in while in Myrtle Beach recommended this place. I went in and to get some lunch and Man Oh Man was it delicious! prices were good, portion sizes were good, and the staff was GREAT! I felt like i was visiting family. We went back to get more sweet potato pie before we came home. Definitely a gem!

We were in Myrtle Beach on vacation. My wife wanted Soul Food and we went through several options before finding Mrs. Penn online. We were impressed by what we saw online so we went there and were pleasantly surprised. The food quality, quantity and price were outstanding! You won’t be disappointed. A well kept secret that needs to be broadcast all over Myrtle Beach and South Carolina as a whole! If you haven’t tried this restaurant, I strongly recommend trying it today! The fish was well seasoned and the Mac and cheese was sooo delicious!

I met Mrs. Penn today! What a lovely and strong woman! I learned from her that she was in child care for over 20 years and also a teacher before she opened her own restaurant! People from all over have asked for her cooking. She finally decided to open her own restaurant last September. With her husband's support and her daughter working with her, I wouldn't choose anywhere else to support as a local restaurant! Awesome, awesome, awesome! I didn't know what to try so I asked her to fix me whatever. she fixed up this delicious plate for me. Fried pork chop covered in gravy over rice, macaroni casserole, spinach, and homemade flat cornbread! And it wasn't dry! Delicious

We discovered this gem today via Google. The other reviewers are correct, the food is delicious! It's like eating your grandmother's food. Traditional soul food. We will definitely return to try other dishes and dessert. The prices are affordable and the portions were generous. Very kind family.

Was absolutely delicious! I had the turkey dinner, with mac and cheese, and okra. I don't think I have had a better meal 😋 and the amount of food for price can't be beat. Little far away from me, but I hope to be down that way again soon.

Omg everything was delicious they deserve more then 5 stars wish they had a restaurant in maryland!!!!
