Menu wasn't too long (but sometimes that's better) and everything we tried was good.

Came here for dinner one night In Nozawa as we have never been and wanted to give it a try. We actually came as we saw that they sell delicious curries but we realised that they only do the curry for lunch and for dinner it is a different menu. We did have a reservation as the restaurant is quite small and we did not want to risk it. We ordered starters such as the sake steamed clams which was really good, edamame, fresh tomato with sesame dressing and the smoked daikon radish cream cheese. For mains, we ordered the mapo tofu, grilled gyoza dumplings which was in such a cute shape and the local miso salmon with mushrooms which was my favourite dish out of all of them. We also ordered a few other things. The menu is a great mix of food from the local village and Japanese izakaya. The staff were very friendly and they have a selection of different sake that you can try!

最高❤️This place is quite new but has great choice food and sake!! If you visit Nozawa, this is one of must-places to visit. The venue is offering the happy hour discount, so better to get here between 4-6pm, otherwise can be always busy so ‘d better to book it! I visited here with my friend and we were so lucky to have spent such a long time alone together enjoying Sake many kinds and customized choice of meals for us. Both of the lady who is Owner/main shelf and the guy who is waiter were so nice and approachable all the time when we were here. Insomma, just try! ;)

A great little restaurant in Nozawa with delicious food, excellent service from the friendly owner and a large selection of sake - don't miss trying a few with a flight! Highly recommend booking when busy as it is small. There is always something interesting and hilarious on the TV in the corner.

Amazing dumplings. Best I’ve ever had, no cap.

It's very nice to sit in front of the bar, tried many dishes. I recommend the sausages (the spicy is our favourite) and the salmon enoki.

Very nice little restaurant, the menu is simple (20 items to eat) but that’s for the best because all the options are extremely tasty. I would recommend taking 2/3 different meals if you’re hungry because the servings are « japanese sized ». This is also for the best because it allows you taste different dishes. The servers don’t speak english that well, but you can easily communicate with them with google translate. They have a large panel of japanese alcoholic drinks to choose from. I would recommend the salmon with miso, the okinawa style pork with an egg, the gyozas.

Lovely waitress but was only one serving so was service was slow/understaffed. Food was tasty but small portions so left wanting more after a day of skiing. Dumplings were indeed amazing!

Honestly my favourite gyoza in Japan ! We went back for some lunchtime gyoza. Had a tasting flight of sake, which is a great way to find out what sake you like. And as a bonus the cutest toilet in Nozawa.

Aokiya is a cool little sake Izakaya based opposite the foot onsen. They have a great selection of sake and some really tasty dishes on their menu - the mabo tofu, gyoza and Okinawan noodles are my favourites👌
