My friend and I had a rainy day, and being our last night in Japan we felt so loved. They were amazing, warming, and great to have a conversation. They were willing to teach us, and listen to our stories. We were the first Mexican-American as they mentioned !!! Minoru and Akemi Thank you for this amazing experience, we are for ever grateful! ❤️ and nonetheless, Food was extremely delicious !

I recently visited an Okonomiyaki restaurant that I have to say is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The restaurant is a hidden gem in the city, and I'm confident that anyone who visits this place will agree with me when I say that it's a 10 out of 10. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was warmly welcomed by the owner couple who speak fluent English and have vast knowledge not only about Tokyo but also all the major cities in the world. They made me feel at home, and I knew right away that I was in for a treat. The restaurant offers different types of Okonomiyaki, which is a popular soul food in Japan. The chef explained to me all the different types of Okonomiyaki in Japan and the differences between each city. I decided to order the seasonal flavor, which was made of Sakura and sea salt, and it was absolutely amazing. The taste was so good that I didn't need any additional seasoning, and I could taste the sweetness of the flower and the salt that opened up the flavor. The chef cooked it in front of me, and I could see the ingredients being mixed and cooked till crispy, then served to my plate. Apart from the Okonomiyaki, I also ordered the Yakisoba noodle, and I got to choose my sauce. I picked the Yuzu flavor, which was very refreshing and made the umami of the soba open up. However, what I enjoyed the most was the conversation that I had with the chef. Both of them have vast knowledge about Japanese culture and are willing to share it with you. The owner had the kindest heart and personality that made everyone want to talk with her. All the customers were enjoying the conversation with her, and it added to the entire dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine and wants to have a unique and authentic dining experience. I can't wait to visit this place again and spread the word to all my friends in Japan to pay a visit.

A gem in the heart of Chuo city. The elderly couple who runs it are passionate about their craft and everything is cooked at your table accompanied with English or Japanese description of the history and staple characteristics of different okonomiyaki. Food is simple but well executed and the husband even does a seasonal display of figurines that will delight all ages. You will leave with your heart and belly full.

Hands down, the best Okonomiyaki I've ever tasted. We tried three different kinds: mochi and cheese, bacon and corn, and Edamame and salt. All three were a 10/10. The owners were incredibly friendly and explained the process of every dish they made as well as the history behind it. And they speak great English. The Monjayaki was prepared in a way that I've never had before. I definitely recommend trying that too. I am looking forward to the next time I go to Tokyo so I can eat here again!

For a truly memorable small Mom and Pop Cafe do try this Cafe! The Cafe is lovingly decorated with displays changed every season... Can you imagine the love and care it takes to do this? We had okonomiyaki and noodles and the wife/chef cooked it at our table, explaining everything. Delicious and so fun! If you are walking by trying to find it, there is a small door, just slide it open and they are inside waiting to greet you!

Awesome place and awesome food. I was treated very well and given great service. Food was cooked in front of me with some cool history lessons. Ameki and Minoru are great people that helped me learn some new words in Japanese and cool places that I didn't know about. If you do end up going, just say that the first Hispanic guy and Mexican girl that visited the restuarant recommended you. Safe travels!

If you eat anywhere in Tokyo, eat here. This is, hands down, the best place I have eaten in Tokyo. The service is amazing, I felt so happy eating here! The owners are so kind and attentive; I had the best experience eating here. It is well worth the trip - wherever you are in Tokyo, come here no matter how long it takes or whereever you might be. Seriously. It will be an experience you won't regret! I highly recommend this place, especially to foreigners as the owners speak English, French, and Japanese. The food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant decor was beautiful! Coming from the USA, I was really impressed!!

Found this gem on Google and was floored by so many glowing reviews, we had to go! It did not disappoint. Owners were amazing, spoke very good English and enthusiastically explained & recomended things to try. You can’t help but falling in love with this couple who have been doing this for over 35 years now. Super sweet, good food (very tiny only 4 tables) So welcoming it really was like going to a friends house for dinner. Husband kept everything going plating up the ingredients while his wife explained the different styles used & cooked it at your table. I definitely agree with most reviews this should be your first stop in Tokyo. The husband came out again when we were leaving and made me a beautiful origami… asking if my bearded husband was Santa Clause. (He is :) ) Where else do you go to eat & leave hugging the owners goodbye? Definitely a must try!

Absolutely loved the food and owners who were so welcoming and would cater to our needs and they cook on the table in front of you so it is a true Japanese food experience. They can customise dishes for vegetarians too. The owners were so knowledgeable and explained the history and differences between the dishes from different regions of Japan! Loved the decor too! The owners were a delight to talk to about different cultures and it felt like being in your own home. Highly recommended!

One of the most soulful and beautiful dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment of stepping in, the place had a welcoming feel, and by the time I left, I felt I was leaving home. The food was amazing, and the accompanying backstory we received with each dish elevated the meal even further. Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in Tokyo ☺️

The food is fantastic, but the owners are a gift. The intimate space and their welcoming personalities make you feel at home. We loved how they talked us through the food preparation process, and we walked out feeling liked we learned something genuinely interesting. Their English is very good, and I believe one of them speaks French as well. The husband builds these beautiful Kabuki themed dioramas, and we were told he makes a new one every month. It was truly fascinating hearing them explain the stories that the pieces were based on- truly amazing. The okonomiyaki and yakisoba were both delicious- the homemade plum and yuzu sauces we're told are seasonal, so I imagine you can get different flavors depending on when you visit. The type of experience where we felt a little sad walking out, because we didn't want it to end. 11/10, no trip to Tokyo is complete without stopping into Kyoya. Very cool place!

WOW! No joke best okonomiyaki I’ve ever had and best experience. The couple running this small restaurant are so kind and know how to speak English. They shared so much about the history of Japan and also explained each dish in detail. I would 100% go again ((: Definitely should visit this restaurant if traveling in Tokyo!

This was one of our best experiences on our entire trip. Being from the US, we spoke very basic Japanese and felt very intimidated trying to go into restaurants in the beginning of our trip. By chance, we decided to go here after reading other reviews, and we had an amazing time. The owners spoke great english, taught us all about okonomiyaki and more. The food was amazing. The adorable dioramas made by the chef were incredible. If you go to one place on your trip to Tokyo, go here.

I’m definitely making this a stop on every trip to Tokyo in the future. The okonomiyaki is delicious, and the husband/wife team of owners here are some of the kindest, most hospitable people I’ve ever met. As previous reviews have mentioned, the wife speaks very good English and made us feel so welcome, explaining the history behind the various sauces and regional differences of each okonomiyaki dish. Make sure to check out the husband’s dioramas throughout the restaurant, they’re amazing! Note, they only take reservation by phone, so be sure to call ahead. Also, their hours are 5-9pm Monday through Friday, with last order in by 8:30. Overall an outstanding restaurant!

I cannot begin to express how absolutely wonderful our dining experience was. The couple that runs this restaurant are so friendly and kind. I recommend trying to go there at the beginning of your trip, if you're looking for things to do! They made so many great suggestions that we're trying to see what we can fit into our last two days in Japan. The food is phenomenal, and prepared right in front of you. I can't give this place enough stars.

The okonomiyaki was fantastic, and we even got a fully vegetarian one, which was really hard to get in Japan so far. The owner was absolutely fantastic, explained us the different styles of okonomiyaki and how they were prepared. We had an overall excellent experience, highly recommended!

A great find. Our hotel recommended this restaurant. We enjoyed delicious food, and because it was a quiet weekday winter night, Akemi-san had time to tell us all about okonomiyaki and many other topics. This is very welcoming venue and I recommend it unhesitatingly to foreign tourists.

I had an amazing experience here and was well taken care of by the owners. They are sweet and knowledgeable, and conversing with them in English was very easy. It is a small restaurant so they’re not able to handle many customers, but it makes it more cozy and the experience more intimate. I enjoyed the food and it is freshly prepared in front of you. During the process, they’ll also explain the different types of okonomiyaki and the history behind the shop. I got the seasonal okonomiyaki and one of their specials, and both were delicious.

Went for dinner with mix of nationalities. We had a fantastic meal and learned more about okonomiyaki than I ever expected. Hyaku-ten for sure. (Bring cash, it's easier for them and it's worth it.)

Amazing atmosphere, great food and the nicest hosts you can imagine. I got a introduction to the different styles of okonomiyaki. I went with the seasonal Tokyo style and was not disappointed. Will visit again next time I am in Tokyo.

Amazing experience! The owners were so kind and friendly. The service was excellent and the food sublime. My sister, her boyfriend and I order the different types of okonomiyaki and dessert and loved every single morsel. If there is a direct line between the heart and the stomach, it is sprinkled with bonito flakes and seaweed flakes.

Amazing service; the hostess was very welcoming and culturally curious, and all the dishes were incredible, as well as explained re: the origin and ingredients while being cooked in front of us. Highest recommendation.

Cosy little restaurant that focuses on different japanese okonomiyaki styles only. Live cooking and delicious food for a decent price. Extremly friendly and talkative owner couple. They speak very good english and french! All in all a great experience. A little bit hard to find but its absolutely worth it!!!

Absolutely delicious! The owners were amazing, very knowledgeable in their history and walked us through the whole experience. Very tourist friendly and speaks good English (and other languages too!) it was our first Okonomiyaki experience in a cozy, upbeat atmosphere. We will return next time we are in Japan, bloody amazing! 🇦🇺

Before I enter, I could not even imagine how magical this place would be! Mistress was very fluent in english, and explained about the food joyfully. Also, it was amazing that she kept trying learning things more to communicate better! The master was shy but kind. He even made cute things for us as a present before we leave. I will definitely revisit here This restaurant made my day🫶 Food was amazing, and it's the first time I am not stodgy after having okonomiyaki. Feels like owners do not want this place to be famous, but I think this place deserves to be the one.
