Lake is big enough. Towards Raman science centre it has a pending project of chat gali How ever the lake is not properly managed by NMC hence its surrounding is going to detoriate. All the fence of it are damaged. All festiv vastage is served to it which also degrade it. People are bathing and washing there cloths in it and NMC is negligible about its

Nice lake in the city centre also known as Shukrawar Talao or Jumma Talao. In Shrimant Bhosale's kingdom it was up to Sitabuildi and the King used to go to Darshan of Shri Ganesh by ferry. Later the land was filled when Railway lines were laid and the Empress mill started in Nagpur. Now, the beautification work is going on there. There 2-3 small temples on the Eastern side and the statue of Lokmanya Tilak is there. Zulelal temple is on the southern side with the garden and park. Many important banks headquarters are nearby. Parao agyari is on northern side. On west, Raman Science center is there.

Once known as the Jumma Talab, is also referred to as Gandhi sagar lake in the present times. With boating facilities, A Ganesh temple, Huge stone walls around, tall lustrous trees makes for a wholesome experience.

The lake which is said to be exists for more than 275 years, was established as a source of water supply by Chand Sultan, the then ruler of Nagpur. He created the water body in the form of streams being diverted to the Nag River, which was connected to the water reservoir and named it as 'Jumma Talab'. Also known by the names Shukravari Talao (lake) and Jumma Talao is located near Raman Science Center. Subsequently it came to be known as ‘Shukrawari Talao’ during the Bhonsla and British periods when the first Raghuji declared Nagpur as the capital of his domain in 1742. The picturesque rectangular shaped Gandhi Sagar reservoir is now enclosed with stonewalls and iron railings. One can also found a small island in the middle of the lake with an attractive Shiva temple and a garden. The lake looks more attractive in the night by the illumination of the yellow mercury light. The lake also offers boating facility to the visitors.

Lovely place👌. But There is a lot of waste in its surrounding😅. And there is also a garden here. If you want to see a very good heart touching view, then go here in Morning Time👌. Sometimes the fountain is also operational and its view is very attractive and in evening time it's view very attractive. 👦

Soothing place but you cannot enter in the garden in covid times though you can enjoy the views from outside and there's a sideway to enter in that place where you can see the lake but still you won't be able to touch the water🌊 hope you love it

    (Translated by Google) It is good but the Ato people are very disturbed, they do not want to hire their own wishes! Google Maps does not move the ATTO on its own way and levies the freight, the place is very beautiful, because of these autos who will have less money 400 ₹ by renting (Original)

LAKE IS SITUATED IN THE HEART OF THE ORANGE CITY NAGPUR HAVING A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN LIKE A TINY ISLAND. GANDHI SAGAR LAKE IS ALSO KNOWN AS SHUKRAVARI LAKE & JUMMA LAKE. THE ADVANCED BOATING SYSTEM AND WATER GAMES SHOULD BE INITIATED BY THE GOVERNMENT. THIS LAKE WAS DEVELOPED AS THE SOURCE OF WATER SUPPLY BY OLD RULERS. AN EXCITING PLACE FOR A MORNING, EVENING WALK, SOME YOGA CLUBS, AND SOME OPEN GYM EQUIPMENT HERE ALSO. LOTS OF WASTE EXISTING HERE NEED TO CLEAN.

The garden is maintained.. temples around this place so it's a good recreational space if you wanna spend some time alongside the lake. The seating arrangements made are actually good to relax and watch the lake. However, there's no water in this lake and some upgradation work is going on. Definitely a good place to rewind in monsoon.
