The
good:
We
stayed
for
two
nights
at
the
beginning
of
our
trip
to
Kenya.
Breakfast
was
great,
and
service
generally
was
good
throughout.
We
enjoyed
the
spa
and
pool.
Clean,
nice
compound
and
felt
very
secure.
The
bad:
Safe
broke
after
one
day.
They
sent
someone
to
fix
it,
and
we
had
use
of
a
safety
deposit
box
at
reception,
so
not
the
end
of
the
world
but
inconvenient
and
not
ideal,
especially
with
such
a
short
stay.
When
we
made
our
booking,
we
were
given
several
offers
with
both
our
tariff
(Travel
Your
Way),
and
membership,
e.g.
complimentary
drink,
food
&
beverage
discounts.
None
of
these
were
actually
applied,
and
with
the
pain
we
experienced
at
check
out
(see
below),
this
wasn't
our
priority
to
point
out
and
have
correct
rate
applied,
although
if
correct
rate
had
been
applied
we
would
have
saved
an
additional
$80
or
so.
Poor
experience
and
with
aftertaste
of
being
overcharged
vs
our
expectations
-
if
you're
not
going
to
deliver
what
you
say
you
will,
don't
bother
offering.
For
a
five
star
hotel
and
rates
paid,
toiletries
felt
incredibly
cheap
-
unbranded,
blue
like
a
basic
range,
smelt
bad
and
full
of
chemicals.
Certainly
not
luxury
compared
to
other
five
star
hotels
(or
even
2
star
to
be
honest).
A
small
detail,
but
the
kind
that
makes
an
impression
-
I
expect
toiletries
at
a
hotel
to
be
as
good,
if
not
better,
than
those
I
have
at
home.
Not
significantly
worse.
The
ugly:
Firstly,
no
hot
water
in
our
room
for
the
entirety
of
our
stay.
We
raised
a
complaint
with
reception
three
times
during
our
stay
but
no
solution
was
offered.
We
felt
this
was
unacceptable
for
a
hotel
of
this
calibre
and
price
point.
Secondly,
on
check
out,
we
were
nearly
overcharged
by
double
for
our
second
night.
Luckily
I
spotted
this,
and
it
was
corrected
and
the
agreed
rate
applied.
However,
this
was
an
uncomfortable
and
unpleasant
way
to
finish
our
stay,
and
delayed
us
leaving
to
make
our
flight
that
morning.
If
I'd
not
been
there
and
left
my
husband
to
sort
out
(he
didn't
have
this
information
to
hand)
we
would
have
ended
up
overpaying
by
hundreds
of
dollars.
Again,
not
acceptable.
