The hotel is quite old, the rooms are ok and big enough. The quality is quite poor though for examples cheap windows that do not close properly and we had issues turning on the light. The pool area is not that nice to chill as it is next to a highway, smells quite bad, however, is heated. The gym and spa area was great! The breakfast was good, with vegan options, good coffee, only minus: no fresh fruit juices. The staff was really helpful in the lobby, making reservations and giving advice.

Serene and lovely, great local breakfast buffet options and many regards to Chef Janet and the Lucca restaurant manager, Grace her name if Iโ€™m not mistaken and the lads at the first floor restaurant. They were fantastic and really helpful. I had a wonderful stay. But maybe install shaft bidetโ€™s in the bathroom, the superior room wasnโ€™t as spacious but was absolutely cozy.

The good: We stayed for two nights at the beginning of our trip to Kenya. Breakfast was great, and service generally was good throughout. We enjoyed the spa and pool. Clean, nice compound and felt very secure. The bad: Safe broke after one day. They sent someone to fix it, and we had use of a safety deposit box at reception, so not the end of the world but inconvenient and not ideal, especially with such a short stay. When we made our booking, we were given several offers with both our tariff (Travel Your Way), and membership, e.g. complimentary drink, food & beverage discounts. None of these were actually applied, and with the pain we experienced at check out (see below), this wasn't our priority to point out and have correct rate applied, although if correct rate had been applied we would have saved an additional $80 or so. Poor experience and with aftertaste of being overcharged vs our expectations - if you're not going to deliver what you say you will, don't bother offering. For a five star hotel and rates paid, toiletries felt incredibly cheap - unbranded, blue like a basic range, smelt bad and full of chemicals. Certainly not luxury compared to other five star hotels (or even 2 star to be honest). A small detail, but the kind that makes an impression - I expect toiletries at a hotel to be as good, if not better, than those I have at home. Not significantly worse. The ugly: Firstly, no hot water in our room for the entirety of our stay. We raised a complaint with reception three times during our stay but no solution was offered. We felt this was unacceptable for a hotel of this calibre and price point. Secondly, on check out, we were nearly overcharged by double for our second night. Luckily I spotted this, and it was corrected and the agreed rate applied. However, this was an uncomfortable and unpleasant way to finish our stay, and delayed us leaving to make our flight that morning. If I'd not been there and left my husband to sort out (he didn't have this information to hand) we would have ended up overpaying by hundreds of dollars. Again, not acceptable.

This is my one of the best five star hotel I ever stay all over the world, 10 on 10 on hospitality and ambiance was awesome, really not want to go home. Atmosphere is classic, luxuries, elegant. Love to be here again and again, it's a one time in life feeling

It is a good property with a very helpful staff! My only complaint would be that there is some noise from the road in the rooms towards the outside. The bar is a nice place to have a drink in the evening. The rooms were very clean and I had no complaints about that. I tried the Italian restaurant Lucca and it felt a bit lacking in terms of the service and food.

Flew to Kenya Nairobi for a work meeting. I have not travelled outside South Africa since February 2020. I was nervously excited to travel outside South Africa. Booked at Villa Rosa Kempinski where we also use floor 2 meeting room for the summit. Overall itโ€™s a great space Itโ€™s safe - lots of security given painful Kenya terrorism past events. From entering the gate they have sniffer dogs , extensive security checks . Before entering the hotel door more security checks which give you a great sense of safety and peace of mind. The staff is people centric and super friendly The meeting rooms are good. I even did my COVId -19 PCR test at the hotel and the staff were more than capable to help with making sure the test is done smoothly. The Restuarant can be improved in food. Itโ€™s 3/5. The times I ate at the hotel Restuarant the food has been average and not great at all. Overall the rooms, meeting rooms, staff device , safety above par and great. Food can be improved.

Excellent business hotel with loads of amenities which are suitable for family as well. The rooms are spacious with European interior. The breakfast spread is decent and overall good customer service. Due to construction of the new highway right opposite the property the area is a bit dusty but guess the work is getting completed within a month and wonโ€™t be an issue.

Set right amidst the bustle of town, the hotel cannot escape the noise directly outside. Very hard beds just adds to the uncomfortable stay. The administrative aspect fails as well where they did not honor my booking package despite booking directly with the brand. Breakfast, however, was a classic buffet spread if ample and delicious choices. For dinner try the on-site Tambourine restaurant for a pleasant Arabic vibe. Florence, the maitre d, welcomes guests with a warm smile and inviting demeanor. Overall staff are well mannered but the stay does not live up to par. It certainly does not satisfy the standards of the Kempinski brand. Consider The Tribe Hotel across town for a truly 5 star experience.

Villa Rosa Kempinski is nestled in the heart of Nairobi offering contemporary rooms with amazing customer service and trendy dining options. The staff are attentive to details and really go all out to ensure your essential needs are met, whether it is room service or serving you at breakfast...always there, friendly and smiling. I had a wonderful one night's stay. Breakfast was divine, and the spa area, including the heated pool and gym really made all the difference. The rooms were sparkly clean and offered every amenity one can think of. Thank you so much for making my stay an enjoyable one.

A little dose of luxury never hurt anybody๐Ÿ˜. I visited Villa Rosa Kempinski Balcony bar on 1st floor. Loved the antique deco and style setting . The lights were deem couple with beautiful chandeliers that graced the place with soft lighting. Very cosy. I had fish and chips being the first time visiting the place. The food was amazing and pocket friendly considering the stature of the hotel . The staff, the manager specifically, was very polite and happy to serve me . If you are looking for a relaxed and exquisite place , this is the place to be . T

Very attractive decor and the standard room is large enough. The room is a bit stuffy and the teacups in the room were dirty. I had to ask for an iron and ironing board. I really believe they should come standard in every room. The staff was very helpful and polite.

I had a wonderful experience at Villa Rosa Kempinski particularly the Tamborine Restaurant. The staff was amazing and Mohammed went out of his way to ensure we had top notch service. The food was delicious and I enjoyed the entertainment from the belly dancer. It actually felt like I had travelled to one of the Mediterranean countries. Thank you for the great experience. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa Rosa Kempinski Nairobi. The friendly, warm service from all colleagues is what made our stay so special. Caroline (Lady in red), Ann (reception) and Mercy (breakfast) were fabulous. The warmth of Kenyan hospitality is what I will remember about our stay at this prestigious Kempinski property. Dining options were great and the quality of food too. Thank you Chef and the team. Overall a wonderful stay in the most prestigious hotel in Nairobi!

Really nice hotel, well maintained and comfortable beds, extremely fast service, friendly and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast with a wide variety of different cuisines, well equipped gym and a nice pool. Only minus is their $80 shuttle to the airport, when an Uber is $10โ€ฆ Also had lunch at the Lucca and it was really tasty, yet quite expensive. However, hotel guests get a 20% discount.

My room was so neat and beautiful! The bar area was too dark though. The waiters and waitresses were amazing! They knew about the wines, they weren't stammering at all! Explained about every wine we ordered. I didn't enjoy the chicken wings though. All in all I loved staying at Villa Rosa kempiski

I recently had a wedding at Kempinski , and spent about three days there in total. The service we received from them was impeccable, and truly lived up to a five star rating. I will definitely come back after one year. Our honeymoon suite was well decorated and even had flowers and petals. The attention to detail is outstanding.

My husband and I got married in Nairobi and so stayed at this hotel for the duration of the wedding prep and on the wedding night. We stayed here with some family members who had travelled to Kenya to join us for the wedding. The stay was generally good and comfortable, the staff were all friendly and the food was good. Our room had a plumbing issue on checking in but this was promptly fixed once we informed them. As we had stayed here for some time, we requested to have something special in the room for our wedding night to make the room feel different and special. Because this was important to us, this is something we would have been happy to pay for as an extra service. We informed the staff quite a few times so they wouldn't forget about it. Wedding day came and was successful and we were looking forward to retiring to our room with something special after a long day. But lo and behold, we entered the room and there was nothing done. Nothing at all. Not even some flower petals or chocolate. It looked the same as it always had everyday we had been there. This was very disappointing especially as we had specifically requested it and were assured it would be done. And now it will forever be part of our wedding day memory of the one thing that was disappointing on an otherwise perfect day.

I was also impressed by the cleanliness of the room. It was spotless, and the comfort of the bed made for a restful night's sleep. Plus, the affordable rates make this place a great value for your money. What sets this place apart is the staff's commitment to going above and beyond to assist their guests. They were always ready to help with a smile, and their hospitality truly made my stay memorable.

Agree with the review below - doesnโ€™t live up to a 5* experience and felt expensive for what it was. What annoyed me considerably was the mark up the hotel put on extras - I paid $70 for a short transfer from the airport and I later discovered I could have got an Uber for about $7. Breakfast wasnโ€™t included in our stay and the charge would have been $60 per day for me and my husband which felt exorbitant. Rooms were fine but nothing special. Staff very friendly and courteous. Probably better suited to business travellers - I wouldnโ€™t recommend for tourists.

Title: Mixed Experience - Potential for Improvement Rating: โญโญ Review: I recently stayed at Villa Rosa Kempinski and had a mixed experience. While the hotel's appearance seemed tired and old, the exceptional level of service provided by the staff truly stood out. From check-in to room service, the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff were commendable. However, I couldn't help but notice that the property is in need of a revamp to match the luxurious service it offers. With a little renovation and modernization, this place could easily regain its former glory and become a true gem.

Nice place, with nice people, and good food. Everyone was so happy to help and answer any questions. Staff in all restaurants are amazing; for example, Mercy, also the lady at the reception during the breakfast, among others, made our stay very welcoming.

Absolutely terrible customer service . Well at least for me. I had to walk to the counter to even get an audience with someone who'd come to take my food order. I don't want to make an assumption on why this was..but for a first time, I was definitely disappointed.

My visit to Kempinski is an adventure that will be memorable. The staff were very polite, patient and considerate to my requests and inquiries. Ready to lead a hand, offered more detail and all in good humour. I may add that the food was exquisite, the highlight of my stay. I wish them success in the years to come.

I think this is a great hotel. Small rooms are the downside, but they are so imaginatively designed, beautifully finished and generally luxurious that their size really isn't noticeable.

This hotel billed me twice for my accommodation. Despite a week of persistent follow-ups, they have been slow to address the issue or provide a refund! Save your time and money by opting for Sankara, where you can enjoy far better service, food, internet, and modern facilities at half the price.

Great stay, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Even though I had a room which faced the highway I was able to sleep very well due to the sound proofing and great bedding. Positives Exceptional service. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic facilities. A haven of comfort. Fast laundry service. The staff are really wonderful, Samson on arrival. Samuel our driver on departure, who got us through a hectic airport with ease. Fabulous spa and one of the best massages I've ever had in a hotel. We were there on New Year's Eve and the firework display was amazing from our balcony. They really did a great job in looking after us, we left feeling well rested and pampered. Negatives Only real downside is the busy road outside, but this is not atypical in Nairobi. It did mean that using the driver service was essential to avoid trying to cross the road. Overall the food was a little disappointing, but satisfactory. The Italian restaurant was the best. The service was great nevertheless. Highly recommended as a place to relax and refresh, especially after a safari.

Very nice hotel. I selected this hotel part of because it had a cigar bar. So once I got to the hotel I went to check out the cigar bar and come to find out that they had NO cigars. I was very disappointed. They told me they were sold out and that no one had reordered them. So why advertise that you have a cigar bar and no cigars. Next time in Nairobi, I may go to a different place.

Really enjoyed being here. It was my first time and although it's been awhile since its glory days because of the expressway construction, covid 19 and all the other because, I gotta say, it is still a very beautiful place to be. I enjoyed a quiet evening with peaceful music in the background. It was also happy hour so yay on the cocktails, which were to die for by the way! Perfect place to come to after our 3-day-safari trip to rest and recover before the next adventure. It is located in between highways and busy city streets so it is not very inviting to go out. We just rested and got pampered. I was not feeling well, Chef Jane made me the exact recipe I asked for and sent it to my room at a very reasonable price. She called me later to ask how I was feeling and made me the same delicious dish again. It was like home-made food. The massage at the spa was such a treat.

This place is much talked about because the former president of the United states His excellency Barak Obama set his foot here. This has risen curiosity to many people and the urge to want to visit the place. So, we also set our foot here. The entrance is unique in that before one gets to the lobby the splendid front garden entices you with the well sought sculptures and plants. The parking is spacious and in floors going further under, well lit but was not airy enough. We visited their small garden which to me looked magnificent. A well kept and manucured garden that made us take photos there. We visited their alar carte menu restaurant which was also looking elegant before settling down to the buffet setting in an Italian restaurant. The brunch buffet here was a mixed of dishes from different continents and a variety of dishes. The buffet starts at 11 a. m. and ends at 4 .30p.m every Sunday. We were there at 3.30 pm to enjoy the well set buffet. What I did enjoy the most here was the 'pistachio umm ali' hot pudding an Indian pudding as I was explained. Besides the food that was being served cold, most of the hot food was just warm including the onion soup which l had looked forward to enjoying. But I guess our timing was wrong. Nice place to visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Prices of meals is dependent on the kind of dishes you want to take and the restaurant chosen. But don't just walk in before you check prices on their on line menus- which was just a quide to us.

We arrived in Nairobi late at night , our chosen hotel turned out be a disaster , the area dangerous. Finally escaped ' downtown' , went to Villa Rosa Kempinski. Expensive , but like a medics blanket after a car crash , great relief , Beautiful rooms , awesome decor and garden , charming staff. You will pay but it's as good as a hotel needs to be. Hi to Moses.

Very nice , and high class traditional hotel. Rooms are big and classy with high sealing and a nice big bathroom. Yes some parts seams old and warn , but it has an authenticity and high class that gives a warm home like feeling. Staff is very kind and professional , and you feel like a movie star when you arrive in front and and a man in a suit and tall hat opens your car door. Food and room service is 5 stars . Not really a family hotel , more business and high class. But we spend a week with a 2 year old , and with only one broken glass , I must conclude it went just fine. Staff was also very kind and helpful with our son , and restaurant made special meals for him. Will go back some day for sure.

Amazing experience in our short stay. Rooms very clean, location amazing, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Last meal at Lucca was so nice, Albert and James are super stars!

Nice place. Nice food. Afew of the Security personnel at the main gate lack good service delivery/customer relations skill.

Villa Rosa kempiski is a lovely hotel over looking the Nairobi Expressway. Overally staff were very friendly and helpful I had the finest pepperoni pizza and remarkable Negroni in town. Not forgetting they have an incredible offer on this every Tuesday's. The hotel premises was very peaceful and soothing. From this experience I will consider going back and even visit some of their properties.

Loved the experience right from the airport pickup with Ben, the late night call to Carolyne looking for an iron, which was promptly brought to my room. The staff here pay a lot of attention to detail. The breakfast had so many options, I wish I was staying longer to try them all. This is definitely the place to stay for sure.

What a scrumptious meal served during a luncheon at Lucca restaurant by the New Chef in town Andreas Mensch. Such a skilled and talented chef, I especially loved the Chicken and mashed sweet potatoes with the morel sauce. A meal that I would like the chef to serve me over and over. Thanks Villa Rosa Kempinski for hosting us.

May stay at the villa was exquisite and close to perfect. I was impressed by the size of the rooms, every basic tool needed at the rooms was readily available. My only concern was with the food ( Dinner)the menu should accommodate the local tourist and try to diversify or tailor-make food upon request. During breakfast, a certain lady at the reception tried to harass me on my dress code. I find that unprofessional and a bit off her area of duty thus didn't enjoy my breakfast at all.
