Waiting times are too long. !! It took 50 minutes just to get to the billing counter to pay for consultation fees. Seeing the doctor took another 40 mins. I believe the time at the pharmacy will just be as dismal. This is contrary to their 45 minute promise for the entire process from triage to medicine collection. They really do need to increase the amount of staff. The staff are warm and doctors are great though. Huge room for improvement on patient time management.

Great services, a bit pricey and some more staffing would be queues to cut on the long waits , experienced. would help ease the waiting time for numerous services. Top service and care.. SoMe great staff too. Great healthcare.

Standards are slipping! I have been using Aga Khan for 10 years, while in Nairobi, and over the year the standards have gotten worse. Note, I have also used MP Shah, Nairobi Hospital etc and to be fair, they are all pretty shocking when it comes to customer care and general service. They lack consistency and that personal touch. In my last visit (October 2022) to the Pharmacy inside Aga Khan, the waiting time was close to 1 and a half hours?!! There is NO excuse to keep patients waiting this long. Others had been waiting for over 3 hours. They offer no alternative such as home delivery or collection from other outlets?! I called some well known pharmacies in Wetlands, Dove/Malibu, and they said they could deliver in 25min, to my door. This is the kind of service I would expect from Aga Khan. Go over and beyond to make the full end-to-end experience something patience appreciates. I will refuse to spend such a long time waiting for basics meds. To make it even worse, after 45min the pharmacist says they didn't even have all the meds, and won't provide alternatives. Shocking service and I would advice you to use anyone else. Parking is also terrible - a revenue generation scam and a way of milking patients/medical attention seekers.

I was there at 8a.m and left at 6p.m with no medicine - because after prescription I had to wait for 5hrs or more for the medicine to be released. Somehow they are trying out a new billing system at the expense of their patients not getting the required services ๐Ÿ˜”. (The billing section is too slow and you can literally pass out waiting for the medicine). They are not remorseful about how slow they handle patients. The pharmacy department is the worst. To be honest I'd never wish to be there when I need immediate attention. The doctor who attended to me 'Dr. Jackie ' was awesome.

They might say its a good hospital, but waiting hours is way out of acceptable. They are in a hurry to take your money, leaving you to wait for next attendance up to 5 hours. Very poor patient management.

The Aga Khan University Hospital in Parklands, Nairobi is a medical institution that impresses on many fronts. The service was outstanding; from the moment of arrival, the staff exhibited an exceptional level of professionalism and courtesy, promptly attending to us. I brought a child for a diagnosis due to a recurring cold, and the speed of service in the Paediatrics department was remarkable. The diagnosis was quick, thorough, and explained in a straightforward manner. The physicians demonstrated an empathetic approach, alleviating the child's fears while providing excellent care. Moreover, the environment was clean, comforting, and well-suited for children, which contributed to a less stressful experience. The hospital showcases excellent healthcare services, providing top-notch patient care and a welcoming environment, which makes it a trustworthy healthcare facility in Nairobi.

The hospital looks more less normal. My husband came from Somalia with a strong diarrhea. We did tests in The Aga Khan University clinic. The doctor prescribed the treatment in an unprofessional manner. To use the drug for 5 weeks instead of 7 days, maximum 10 days. The doctor didnโ€™t give to us hard copy of result of tests. We didnโ€™t reimbursement 60โ‚ฌ in our medicaI insurance. I decided to make a double check of prescription of medicine and consulted with doctors from Ukraine and with my husband's medical department. You should Always double-check doctors from Nairobi.Otherwise, you will have more problems with a health. We paid extra medicine for 4 weeks๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿคก๐Ÿคก๐ŸคกIt seems to me, Iโ€™m more professional in medicine, than doctors in Nairobi. Had better donโ€™t visit this hospital.๐Ÿ‘†Because, you pay ๐Ÿ’ฐ for nothing.

The hospital is good, but I donโ€™t know what is happening with service in some areas, especially at the laboratory. I am speaking of the main lab. I was there this week on Tuesday and the service was the worst I have ever experienced. I got in at 11:18 and was served at 12:30, I never got my results on time to see my doctor for my appointment. I donโ€™t think that is fair. The reason for this I realized that if you have insurance you have a different line from cash payment, which lead to people coming before you and getting served while if you have insurance you are asked to just sit there and wait to be served. What happened with first come first served rule? When I went to inquire from a Lady at the desk she was so rude. She even was calling people randomly to serve while I was wait. The number issuing station also seems to have an issue, i noted the number for the insurance line like over 15 of them were not in the waiting area while called. Why is that, if u care you can find out I had a number 2064 time picked 11:18 on Tuesday. Kindly note that we all appreciate a good service, especially at the hospital.

Clean location and looks like they have systems in place. However the sheer volume of people means the process takes quite long and staff have learned how to cope - ie they call your number then take a short break as you wait in the hot seat..... I would advise not to use the pharmacy unless it's practical in some other way because this will add a minimum of 30 minutes waiting time at the least! You even have to wait 10 minutes after seeing the pharmacist and making payment.

Pharmacy service is terrible. Long wait on the lines especially at the outpatient one. Tried getting services from the other pharmacy, which had no one being served, and I was told I just have to go queue in the outpatient one. What's with that? Parking is the worst - a revenue generation scam and a way of milking patients/medical attention seekers. Half star 20 June 2022 - still no improvement. Gets worse. Ultra modern facilities but minimal staff/expertise to match that. Services continue to get poor as their rates shoot up! Takes 2 hours to get your vitals check and 6 hours or more to get bed admission. They lied to us that an admission bed was available to make me sign billing paperwork, only to tell us later that wards were full and they are waiting for a discharge before we could get a bed. And during the wait, different doctors come in to ask the same questions the previous one did. I guess they are doing that to meet their money targets. This is a money-first-save-lives-later facility. An eighth of a star rating!

A hospital to go to. I came here with an emergency patient and the response was quick and efficient. If your insurance can cover you, this is your go-to hospital. Very world class kind of a hospital. The doctors are all well knowledge endowed in their respective medical specialties. The nurses are most especially customer service oriented - loved their reception. Watch out for the Children's Specialty Hospital that's yet to be launched. Keep up the good work The Aga Khan University Hospital.

Execrable services right from the triage to consultation. Waited for over two hours to be seen by a doctor and when I questioned why it took so long, they blamed it on number of doctors (3) attending to patients. Not the first time nor second time... in two separate incidences I had to walk away. Why are you quick to introduce new systems shenanigans...sending prompt messages when not one singe service is timely and satisfactory! oh wait! Is Aga Khan University Hospital even consumer/patients satisfactory oriented? Or bill and keep them waiting to death! HORRENDOUS! PATHETIC! INHUMANE!

Great facilities. HOWEVER: This place is grossly understaffed. I spent 6 hours in the blood Donor unit, where one nurse was responsible carrying out receptionist duties in terms of handling and reviewing the donor forms, taking vitals, drawing the blood, handing out soda to donors and managing traffic in the section of the hospital. Because of this slow service, I ended up paying high parking fees. Please, do better.

Worst customer care with rude staff. Waited for over 3 days no sms regarding my covid 19 test. Should improve on customer relations and be better.Especially services at the Lab and very poor services which are very expensive. For a person traveling abroad needing a covid certificate i recommend you to seek another hospital.

Incredible hospital! Not only do they have the best modern equipment for diagnosis, they also have the specialists required to analyse the results. You donโ€™t have to worry about them doing unnecessary surgical procedures in order to milk the insurance. I spent one week in the surgical ward and the nurses and food were great. The doctors on the surgical and medical teams where good yet somewhat limited in potential by poor administration.

This used to be a very great patient-centered hospital. Today the hospital has joined the bandwagon of substandard business healthcare providers. Why? 1. Why is the hospital charging fresh consultation on lab results review and medication? 2. How can you wait in line for over one hour for billing when you are barely 3 people online?

Not so good experience during delivery I still believe that the whole process would have been handled better. But after that the rest of the staff were very helpful. Meals always on time, cleaners we consistent. I never understood why the name of senior doctors are indicated against patients name to indicate that the doctor is incharge yet I never saw the said doctor through out the process. I think that is misleading.

Whatโ€™s the point of booking an appointment when you clearly donโ€™t follow the schedule? Iโ€™m used to waiting for an extra 30 mins or so but this week I was at the gynecologist clinic from 11am - 4:30 pm yet there were only two people on this particular doctorโ€™s list. Some of the staff were just blatantly rude, and didnโ€™t seem bothered of my situation I even asked them if I can reschedule, they said itโ€™s fine but Iโ€™ll be charged again for consultation. For your Surgical Clinics, Improve your appointment booking system! If Doctors have emergency surgeries, and patients appointments have to be cancelled or rescheduled, INFORM THE PATIENTS in good time. There are people who Travel from Out of the town for their appointments! And if appointments for the following days need to be amended to accommodate patients whos appointments had been cancelled due to any emergency the doctor had to attend, then those patients booked on the following days should also be advised of the situation so that they can plan themselves. Very poor service!

I will not experience a poor hospital other than this, we came emergencies, and the nurse started you name where do you live, what do you work, then after an hour investigation, and paid ofcourse, we reached the doctor and he started asking us the same questions, and the daughter vomiting on the floor each 5 minutes, then we went to a pharmacy inside the hotel to buy waht the doctor consumed in the clinic, so you not only pay, you go do shopping for them, then i noticed the doctor ordered and let me oaid, for things he never used, then at 5pm his shift is finished he handed over for another doctor, so she also requested for her opinion of medication, so we paid 2 times 2 different list of medicines . Then we finished, they kept us from 7 pm to 10pm without anyone come to let is leave, after they get paid of everything, they disappeared, i have took off the things by my self to my daughter at the parking, and i paid 500$ for only serum and antibiotics. I have 9 bills i dont know why, the doctor said am the only one here so i cant manage to sort you out. Imagine, disaster and disgusting communication, and am going to raise a case for the court, about what how they treat my daughter.

Has the best nursing care in Nairobi. The doctors here are pretty good except that it is a high end hospital so every service will cost you a lot more. Has a children play ground for kids to play as you visit your patients.

Very bad experience. No coordination of nurses and the meals management Food is served anytime and the lady not aware of it should be served after medicine or not I had surgery here on Thursday and the nurse informed me the covering tapes are water proof. To my shock they are not. The doctor came at 11.43am to check on my wound as told him it's went and experiencing pain. To his utter shock this would should not have been washed with water and chances of reinfection is high. I have been waiting for two hours to get my wound covered. Am a disgusted patient waiting to be discharged. Anne Gicharu

This is a terrible and sorry excuse of a hospital. Thereโ€™s a deliberate go-slow by their staff and no accountability. Donโ€™t bother booking appointments as Walk-ins can simply skip you by paying. There are no supervisors in site and most staff are very rude and condescending. Aga Khan is only surviving because of the broken healthcare system in this country. Go elsewhere please.

Mountain View aghakan to be precise their diagnosis is not done, I have experienced being misdiagnosed twice . Last week on Friday I took my baby with a fever and flue, and stomach issues, he was given medication but his health was deteriorating we decided to take him back on the 3rd day, we requested whether they could reduce the consultation fee for us, they refused and said they only offer free consultation after 2 days after treatment , my baby had the same symptoms we explained to the doctor after the first visit.

Donโ€™t bother giving birth here. You wonโ€™t get value for your money. The private rooms at the maternity are pathetic yet they charge 270000. The Tv in the room didnโ€™t even have a remote. The rooms are squeezed and not very clean. There is no microwave nor a refrigerator in the private room. Half of the nurses are good and half are bad with very poor customer service. Some of them are not well informed. They donโ€™t allow more than one visitor in the room citing Covid as the reason, which is quite lame. Even after paying 270000 for 3 nights, they donโ€™t offer food to the next of kin who stays with the patient; they only serve the patient and they expect the next of kin to buy food from JAva downstairs. Very disappointed.

The well baby clinic is a right mess. Appointment hours are never kept. Reception is extremely slow, room packed and stuffy. Not okey for little fussy babies. Opt to use clinics in other areas and not the main parklands branch. A simple vaccination shouldnโ€™t have a 3 hour waiting period. Unless youโ€™re having surgery, or some specialist clinic, I would AVOID this hospital entirely. Otherwise youโ€™ll die at the chair waiting. I promise.

Parking.. Hectic Reception takes over an hour to just register and pay. Then waiting for triage is another headache. The only smooth part is being at the Doctor's office. Which takes WAAAY less time than everywhere else btw. Then the pharmacy is the absolute ghetto to say the least. That system is definitely NOT WORKING. Only reason I come back is because the Doctors are amazing. The 3 star is solely for the Doctors. If you're planning to go there, just clear your calendar for the day.

Do not go to this hospital or any of its branches. The staff is rude, unprofessional and the quality of care is very low. If youโ€™re a Mzungu they will try to upcode any illness you have and prescribe unnecessary medications. Poor Information system that clogg for over 4 hours in all areas apart from guards who seem to have a sense of urgency. All others very unprofessional and undermotivated. My 2 cents would be to increase staff in all departments. Not just billing lumpsum but just poor services. This will allow a sense of urgency which is missing. Actually if it was possible to give 0 that's what you guys deserve.

Such great inpatient services. Capable and professional doctors and nursing staff. Good facilities and thorough analysis and feedback provided. Pharmacy service is good. The outpatient to admission system is very slow and requires constant follow up to get a bed or to ensure someone is looking into this. This now makes sense because the Discharge process is equally frustrating. Takes approximately 3-4 hours to get a bill paid including taking forms to pharmacy and payment. Gets worse on a busy day. The hospital confirmed they are actively working on this and should improve this by end of year. Time will tell.

If I could give half a star, I would. Seems like the appointment made is just policy. Arrived half an hour earlier for my doctor's appointment and waited for another hour to see the doctor. The payment guy in room 530, Doctor Plaza, seems more fit to work in a government office than in a hospital. It's another hour and counting to pay and in pain nonetheless. I've never been disappointed in a hospital like this. Would never recommend anyone in there senses to come to this hospital

The waiting time at the PCR center for the COVID test was so long 4 hrs to be precise. Very disorganised and rude staff handling registration and payment. There's also no means for giving feedback or any supervisor available to report irregularity to. Test results arrived more than 36 hrs late after calling more than 7 times. 2.5 stars. Yes, this hospital has much of the modern equipment that you would find at a hospital in the Global North. But the wards are horribly understaffed, and thus *everything* they do seems to take an hour or more. All they did for me was give me a blood test for malaria & some pain meds, and somehow that took eight hours.

A very good experience from the admin and medical staff but the most miserable time using the car park. It's almost as if they don't want to solve it because they're earning from it while you drive around with dozens of other people all searching for somewhere to park or hoping to exit quickly having already paid. Hence the one star for what seems like an organised parking scam.

I got the best services. The environment is also serene, you won't even realize that you're in a hospital. I felt at home here. I was attended to without an appointment.

The Aga Khan University Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in Nairobi with quality and professional services. There are several units within the main hospital: heart and cancer centre, pediatrics, surgery units and a full doctor's plaza with all kinds of specialists: dermatologists, obstetricians and gynecologists, neurologist, neurosurgeons, ophthalmologist, ENT surgeons, nephrologists and oncologists among others. It's quite an expensive hospital but worth its money. Most nurses are quite professional when handling patients. The only downside is that services are very slow especially during peaks hours. If you must see a doctor, you need to come an hour earlier. And also, getting a parking space is a whole nightmare especially during the day.

Management is no where to be seen, some staff availabe to work as and when they want. If you are getting admitted you could be charged for some services you never receive, e.g you will see charges for a doctor that never visited you. Funnily doctors have targets, as if we are part of sales pipeline.... Doc discharged mum and gave no food restrictions at all, next thing she got admitted again after two days....They are in dire need of trained nurses. Management is trying their best to give this great hospital a bad name.

Good hospital in general but I took one star off because Rosemary, who was working at the blood donor unit on 08.08.2019 at 7.30 pm had wanting customer service. She could easily make a voluntary donor turn back. We however proceeded with the donation because at the end of the day, the blood is not for her.

I have some long standing health issues, been to most larger private hospitals in Nairobi, none is as well equipped as AKUH. Also, the doctor Iโ€™ve been seeing lately is the best doctor Iโ€™ve ever met. Itโ€™s strange how a doctorโ€™s compassion, the right approach and right words, here & there, can make one feel safe even faced with a chronic condition. However, the charges at this hospital, especially for the tests are quite high.

I have been going to this hospital on several occasions to see different doctors and one of them is Dr.P.S Patel and I can affirm that he and the hospital in general are one of the best kind....

The service is terribly slow. AgaKhan is a cesspit of inefficiency. You book to see a doctor at 11 but at 2 pm you are still waiting. Parking is a nightmare. Then they charge you for parking yet it's they who kept you there for hours!!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PATIENTS THERE! DO NOT! NURSES ARE CARELESS, DOCTORS ARE ALWAYS DELAYED IN EVERYTHING. ITS ONLY KNOWN FOR ITS NAME. SCREW THIS HOSPITAL. DO NOT TAKE YOUR SICK THERE!

A good Hospital in general. However, quite slow services. The pharmacy - you spend hours waiting, its crazy. Actually had a very bad experience.

Whereas Aga Khan hospital offers good services, it is disheartening that the Valley Arcade branch has only one doctor and one nurse. Patients have to wait for hours to see the doctor and then wait even longer for test results. My experience in that branch has always been waiting and waiting hence loss of precious time. Could you consider posting more doctors and nurses for that branch.

Has to be the best healthcare facility around. Staff are hella professional, you pretty much any type of medical specialist you need. The lab does virtually every test out here and radiology has all the diagnostic tools you can think off. Simply put the care is great. Down side is the cost but it won't cost them a star this time..

  • 1/5 Hope M. 4 years ago on Google
Service is horrible. Nurses take eternity to attend to you despite alerting them. Food is pathetic and dry. I requested for water at 6:30am and I had to go to the kitchen to get it myself at 10am. Dinner served for my baby was too dry. Asked for gravy twice and was still not served. I'm disappointed!

I loved this hospital growing up and I havenโ€™t gone for like the past 6 years but then last week I decided to go. I got in at 11am and I was leaving at 4pm, there werenโ€™t many patients, the process is just extremely slow, so much misinformation on lab results. I actually have a lab result pending till today. The staff that tried to help were completely unprofessional too. I donโ€™t recommend it. I will continue going to Nairobi hospital.

I attended the doctors plaza clinic on three occasions for a minor issue. I was treated badly and believe that doctors discriminate against black patients. On the last time, I was made to wait until after all other non-black patients had been seen despite me having an earlier appointment. I recommend if you can that you go to a different healthcare provider.

  • 1/5 Oliver G. 3 years ago on Google
Never go to Agakhan any time from 7.30pm, unless you absolutely have to or you have patience, there can literary be only 3 customers at this time but you will take at least 3 hours, there is no hurry at triage, consultation and at the pharmacy, kama hupendi makasiriko don't even dare. Don't expect an apology for the delay either.

After discharge billing process, medicine from pharmacy and handing over is very slow. Need to introduce a better system. It took almost 2 hrs.l was looked after very well, very polite nursing staff, kitchen staff excellent provided nutritional meals with portion control being diabetic they have a separate menu. The Pavilion is clean,. Rooms and bedding kept clean and comfortable throughout a week stay.

Wait time is okay because nothing can be done about it. The nurses at the paediatric section are very helpful and friendly, radiology was super comforting/ respectful and the labs were so convenient and fast. The Specialists available know what they are doing. Good job Ava Khan this was far from what I expected

There is a new definition of "slow service", come and see yourself. To the management of AKUH, pls fix this, aweful service but having too many personnel. To do a simple blood test you have to wait 20 min to do the payment and 40min+ and counting to be called for test.

Very poor security personnel. How do you check my bag without my consent. Again, this rule that allows women to check men's personal bags is against gender equity.

  • 1/5 Hellen M. 1 year ago on Google
Pharmacy, contact help line, even the psychiatrist department-Dr. Nabiswa was terribly disappointing. Hospital where appointments are useless and wait times are worse than public hospitals! Youโ€™re better off in any other hospital except if youโ€™re seeing a specialist doctor or service otherwise be ready to be frustrated.

  • 1/5 Rizgallah H. 1 year ago on Google
Aga khan T-mall branch is the absolute worst. They should just close it. Wait time was two hours yet we were only six people since morning. And once with the doctor, an extremely unprofessional attendant, with zero bedside manner. How do I come in for a check up and you list several tests then ask me to choose which ones I want done? Arenโ€™t you the doctor supposed to recommend what I need and if Iโ€™m to choose what tests I want, whatโ€™s the point of consulting a โ€˜doctorโ€™? Would not recommend this brach to anyone

There should be signs at the A&E asking people bringing patients to keep SILENT. They come five people bringing one patient and make it a market place talking and shouting Over each other while there are sick patients in pain who need peace and quiet while waiting to be service.

Was attended at emergency department. Nurses responded immediately when our ambulance landed at A&E. Was impressed by how neat the department was and their private rooms in A&E, Easy to follow directions. Nurses were engaging, humble and had a kindhearted. Offering great services. Thumbs up to Aga Khan Hospital

I really have to commend the service. The visit has been so smooth, despite the waiting time, all staff have been extremely helpful. From the security, to the reception, nurses and doctors and all staff are all going beyond. This is refreshing and I felt the need to commend this great service. Itโ€™s been a rare thing in hospitals these days. Giving you your flowers and whatever you are doing on customer service, keep it up!

The guards/staff could not give proper directions when I inquired. I wasted more than an hour when directed to the wrong place, took a ticket only to be told I need to start afresh elsewhere! I had to go to another hospital.

Extremely poor service at the so called Doctor's Plaza. Urology and Opthalmology ...... very pathetic service...deteriorated to Kenyatta Hospital standards. Ultrasound dept summed it all up.... PATHETIC......not worth the name and level of consultation fees charged!!! What a day...! ๐Ÿ˜กOnly go there if you really must!

Worst customer care service ever. Called in yesterday to book an appointment for today and was told that they would call me back. They never called me back so I called in today and was told to book an appointment for tomorrow again. Also the call was cut short due to insufficient airtime and I never got called back. I called them back after getting airtime and started asking me the same questions again. Never will try to go there again.

I am booked for a procedure at 8:30. I arrive at the hospital at 7:50. The short procedure is done 11:00 i.e 3hrs later. Then I wait for dugs from their pharmacy for 2.5hrs and only one is available out of 3 prescibed. Then another one hour to be discharged At 3.p.m I am still at the reception waiting to be discharged and I have not even met the Doc to explain the procedure report. This hospital is full of paper work nkts.

The pharmacy is the most annoying place in Aga Khan hospital, you have so many counters which actually are doing nothing or no work. I hope you can improve on the rate of service in the pharmacy especially for out patients. Thank you

How did a counselling session go from 4500 to 8500 in one year? Its sad to see the Aga Khan go down the same route as Nairobi Hospital and Nairobi Womens. Is this new management? They'll run the hospital into the ground.. Anyway on to the next

๐Ÿ˜  The worst decision we made was to bring mum to this hospital. Negligence from oncology ward to ICU. They don't even assist patients to feed and don't allow any food from outside. The nurses are overwhelmed to a point of not giving medications. The attitude of some staff and the security is wanting!...
