Guys don't be fooled by these comments here. They are all made up. I took my mom to this doctor and he was the rudest person I had ever seen. He didn't want to give us time to say our issue and started rushing us. When we insisted that it's important we explain, he started shouting at us that even patients at the waiting line started to move out. I remember 2 arab individuals asking for a refund. We visited doctor Ritesh in February this year 2023 after my Dad's mobility deteriorated and we were beyond impressed with his thoroughness and professionalism. I met Dr. Ritesh in 2018 after coming from India. He did my right total hip replacement on March 7 and as he'd told me the surgery will take 2hrs, he took almost 2hrs. For anyone who has back pain due to L4-L5 Disc Herniation/bulging leading to compression of the nerves knows the excruciating pain and inability to function that comes with it. I was one of those people and despite the numerous routes I took to get relief i.e., numerous physiotherapy sessions of heat treatment, massages, exercises etc. my problem was still there. After a consultation with a Chiropractor, I was advised to get an MRI and thereafter they recommended I see an Orthopaedic Surgeon. The Orthopaedic Surgeon recommended surgery (micro discectomy) and since I was not comfortable with that, I decided to seek a second opinion. A friend of a friend who was a patient of Dr Ritesh Patel of the Spine & Speciality Hospital recommended I visit Dr Ritesh and get his opinion. I must say Dr Ritesh was a breath of fresh air, contacting directly him was easy and after securing an appointment went to see him. He looked at my MRI and then physically checked me and he recommended surgery this time endoscopic discectomy. It was my first time to hear about the new non evasive surgery using a modern technology that took a few hours, high success rate, minimal to no blood loss and you are always awake, and you were discharged by the next day. Seeing how puzzled I looked, he recommended I speak to a patient who had the surgery the previous day and was about to be discharged. After my insightful conversation with the patient my doubts were put to rest, and I decided this was the surgery for me. I booked for surgery, Dr Ritesh and his competent team managed the admission & surgery professionally and the surgery went well as promised. I was out the day after the surgery, and I am now recovering from home. I must say that the excruciating back pain went away after the surgery, and I was able to sleep on a bed the whole night thereafter. My dad had difficulty in walking and despite several visits to various hospital and physiotherapy sessions, his situation was getting worse. He could not stand straight and had to use a walking stick to aid his movement. He had a lot of pain in his right leg. I don't regret the decision to visit Dr Ritesh who upon examination diagnosed a spine problem and administered a 3-week dose of medication. By the end of the first week, my dad was already walking without the aid of the stick and without the annoying stoop he had developed. We visited the Spine Clinic Africa for a review yesterday and Mzee was given a clean bill with more drugs to take for a while. Now he has no problem bending or walking.
