This is a very intricate intimate bookshop. You, the books and a cup of coffee. In the heart of Lavington this bookshop has from African written books to American books. Open from Monday-Saturdays. 9:00 am - 6:00pm This bookshop is also a space for Afro-latin Saturdays, and Cheche sessions events

An intimate gem and gathering space in Nairobi. Great selection of literature, with a beautiful aesthetic and a limited cafe menu of coffee and teas. Access to the backyard was nice to take breaks and step away from the computer. They have limited seating with electrical outlets, so get there early.

Cheche is a nice Bookshop. I had gone there for the launch of the book "WILLY MUNYOKI MUTUNGA OF KENYA OUR HERO OF JUSTICE A Semi-fictionalised Biography for Young People" by Prof. Elizabeth Orchardson-Mazrui. The occasion was graced by Prof. Willy Munyuoki Mutunga - The former Chief Justice himself

It is always special when you can get a space that is quite enough for you to enjoy an afternoon reading a book and get to enjoy a cup of coffee. This is exactly what Cheche Bookshop and Café offers. From the moment you walk in, you just feel a warm feeling, different from the chaos outside. There are books, lots of them, and a beautiful spaces to sit, open your book and start reading.

I absolutely love it. The book collection, the prints. The everything. If you happen to meet Uba (I hope I spelled her name right), count yourself lucky. She is pretty much one of the coolest people I have met during my book shopping runs!

Thank you Ubax, Eric and team for your graciousness! Hosted a birthday party in your yard and it was the best time. Thanks for being great partners and opening your beautiful space to us. Will think of you again for my next event. And can’t wait to join you for book readings and other events you host in future ❤️

A fabulous bookshop! Definitely a favourite. It doesn't have many of the "best sellers", instead focusing on a curated selection of pan-African and feminist books; overseen by knowledgeable staff. A bonus is the regular selection of events, making it a cultural hub - poetry, film, music and dance.

This place is such a treasure 🤩 This is an independent bookshop with emphasis on African works (fiction and non-fiction). Pan-africanists, anti-colonialists, political dissenters, and anti capitalist writers really have a place here. The bookshop also features poetry and other books by local creatives whose works were published in Nairobi. I just love the dynamic creative pulse of this city that places like Cheche help to foster. There is a small selection of café drinks and a garden as well. 🪴 ☕️ I had a hibiscus tea and my friend had a cappuccino that we enjoyed while browsing books and talking with the seller about a local publishing house. Will be back!

A place that conveys a unique sense of comfort, peace and serenity, surrounded by beautiful books and art. They also serve excellent coffee, juices and daily food specials. The space regularly hosts different kinds of cultural and art events, both indoors and outside in the garden. I hope they will expand their food selection in the future

A place that is absolutely needed! African owned, woman owned, a safe space created by us for us and I am so here for it. A large and perfect curation and selection of books and the most perfect space for creatives, shifters, and revolutionaries. Honored to have come for the events I was able to attend and purchase the selections I purchased.

A nice place to dig information about Africa's culture, literature and also a nice place to relax on Saturdays with Maestro JP teaching some Afro-latin dance techniques. There are also pieces of art that show our day to day life interactions. I would recommend this place over and over again...

Cheche provides a safe and serene working and reading space! They also have a great selection of books from various notable writers across the region and beyond. Cheche books, as the name suggests, is a radical and coherent space in Nairobi and even Kenya! I highly recommend it to anyone interested in good literature whether fiction or nonfiction to visit it, you’ll not regret!
