Hilton Honors Gold never disappoint me. We were upgraded into the ocean view room and were given complimentary desserts (puddings) and Orion beer. The ocean view from the room was really nice. The room is also very spacious. Location is great, many shops, cafes, and restaurants around the hotel. Overall, we had a really nice time staying here.

Very friendly and receptive staff! The hotel is simply beautiful… Located right on the beach with perfect views. Air conditioning worked fantastic (a must for me)… The staff at the hotel were great to work with. Parking was ample. Best of all however, was the morning breakfast! Very happy with my stay!! Highly Recommended!! The perfect location for American Villages access!!

After an original error by the receptionist sending us to the hotel across the road with all our luggage. The receptionist apologised and the manager upgraded us. I’m glad as I definitely wouldn’t have liked the city view. Unfortunately the hotel lacks any atmosphere or fun vibe. Simple things like a bar downstairs Abs free coffee and tea area would make it more welcoming. If it rains there is no where to go with an outside bar and pool. I was sent across to the indoor pool at the Hilton resort and there was no space to sit down and full of families with young children. They could do so much more with this hotel.

Stayed with my mom and toddler. Got upgraded to sea view room being a gold member. Spacious (compared to Hilton Chatan that I stayed at before) and clean room. Breakfast was good, sufficient Japanese and western options. Will definitely return if I’m ever staying in the American village.

Awful experience! It’s a long story, but I will try to keep it short and to the point! There was an issue with the number of occupants for the business reservation (booked via a government web-based system) and this was not discovered until check-in. My wife and I had a long flight to the island and arrived to the hotel at 10:30pm. We were informed that the original reservation was only for one occupant; therefore, my wife could not stay with me unless we pay the price difference. Normally, we never had a problem with this because every hotel waived this and honored Diamond member’s guest benefits. However, in this case the hotel was very strict with their policy even though they could not produce the actual documents that stated it. Regardless of the booking issue, the reason for the poor rating and review is because of the horrendous service and guest care we received. The staff did not treat us like guests, but as strangers off the streets looking for a good deal or discount. Truly unbelievable that they treat their Diamond members like this.. I can’t image how they treat their other HHonors members. Not once did the staff offer to help us change the original reservation to include my wife. Not once did they offer to help get a reservation at the other 5 Hilton hotels in the 5 mile radius. Not once did they show any empathy for the situation; no one cared about my tired, very pregnant wife still on her feet after midnight.. The worst part was they increased the guest fee each time we walked back inside the lobby after going outside to speak with the other hotels in the area. The staff here are disrespectful… I realized that all of the Japanese guests were actually going to the Hilton resort across the street instead of this one. Don’t waste your time, don’t waste your money with this Double Tree.

Clean and friendly staff! However, the Terrance room is not worth the money! You can’t see the ocean from the Terrance. Also, “beach front” here and “beach front” elsewhere means two different things. You can’t just step out onto sand. I actually couldn’t even find a nice beach except a mile-two miles down the road. I liked it but won’t be staying again. I attached a picture of the Terrance view for reference. It shouldn’t even be classified as a 4 star. Maybe a 2.5 but barely. There’s no services and not a resort.

Well frankly I don't even know where to start when comparing this hotel to others I've stayed at. I guess I'll begin with the simple often overlooked things. The little extras make all the difference in my opinion, I've stayed at other hotels quite a lot and something I always notice is the cheap almost watered down soaps and shampoos etc. I was very surprised when I took a shower here and the shampoo, body wash, and conditioner were all very good, they even provided a new sponge which I've never had a hotel do before. The toothbrush they left is no doubt cheap but my wife and I agreed they're probably the best toothbrushes we've used xD in the bathroom there was a comb, toothbrush, hairdryer, even cologne and shaving equipment. Really everything we need and plenty of towels (bath towels are massive by the way I reaaaaally want to steal them). Other things provided in the room were an ironing board, steam iron (a good one for sure), massive TV which I think is 4k but somehow looks better than my own 4k at home so perhaps it's an 8k I can't be certain. The volume on the TV was capped at a reasonable 35, I think the rooms are quite soundproof so they allow the TV to be a little louder than other hotels. You're able to plug your fire stick or computer into the TV very easily using a little inlet on the wall. The room itself is massive, the biggest I've ever stayed in, they provided two double beds next to one another for the wife and I, and there was still space for a baby cot, a small table and a couple of chairs, as well as plenty room to walk through, do your ironing etc. The beds were extremely comfortable as was the linen, spotless too, clearly they pay attention to keeping these rooms sparkling between guests. The balcony has a wonderful sea view, about 40 meters from the water I'd guess. I'm sat there right now and that seems about right. You also have a view of the local cafe and restaurant district which is very pretty at night and of course extremely convenient to get to as it's about a 2 minute walk to be in the midst of it. The shower and bath are both large, be warned there are multiple shower heads, that took me by surprise as when I thought I was turning one shower head on to rinse the bathroom off the ceiling one opened up and drenched me through again, certainly woke me up I'll say that. Noise wise I can confidently say you will hear absolutely nothing from other rooms, it's actually very impressive you open the balcony door and the crashing of the waves is quite loud but the moment you close it it's like you're in space utterly silent. Price wise, also fantastic, three nights here has cost us about 60,000jpy including flights. Given the beauty of this resort that's a steal. Also there are two beautiful swimming pools if that's your thing, I'm too fat to approach them but they look very nice. You can use the facilities at both Hilton hotels as there's another nearby too and you're given a key card to go there and enjoy what they have to offer. We have a baby, they catered to him very well, amazingly well tbh, gave us a pram, a cot, they replaced the first pram because he's only 4 months and the first was too big. They also gave us other little things in the room like baby shampoo etc. Lovely of them. The staff. Without a doubt the friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever dealt with in a hotel. They speak great English and probably other languages they seem very intelligent, they asked to hold the baby whilst we got accustomed to the prams they provided and even played with him in the way ya can with a kid his age. Really helpful gave great advice about the area and made it clear theyre always there if we need anything. Tonight there's fireworks outside our balcony over the sea apparently, that's gonna be cool. I'm trying to think if there's anything I've missed, I can't think of anything bad to say in all honesty but two more days here so I'll update this if anything comes up, though I doubt it will. What a wonderful start to a family holiday, thank you Hilton staff, great job.

Welcoming staff. It’s a good location cox it’s walking distance to American village for food , shopping etc. yet it’s at the quiet end of the stretch. Had a v good suite room , space and all n especially as I was able to view the usual Saturday 8pm fireworks right from the balcony. And watch sunset from here as well. Breakfast is decent, seems to alternate some dishes daily.

Nice hotel, just turned 5 years. Rooms are nice, view not very interesting. Breakfast is good but I have been to places with more varieties. A bit expensive. Lots of parking. Can use Hilton hotel facilities.

First visit to the double tree and not the best experience. To start with a positive the room was comfortable and large and could of easily been a five star if the room fridge had been stocked with the most basic of things. Bathroom was excellent and very clean. While the staff we came in to contact with we're extremely helpful and polite the amenities available were very poor. No room service, no bar except for weekends, very poor selection at breakfast. Not even a basic shop was available and to top it all everything that could be bought either from vending machines or the bar was open we're almost doubled in price compared to the vendors out side the hotel. As for the location where to start? Obviously the hotel can't be moved but I think it should be made clear on their website that it sits directly under a flight path for a nearby military air base. Being situated in the American village is interesting but does take away from the natural beauty of the island. In hindsight I would of preferred something more isolated further up the island. One further point which I feel should be clear on the website. During our stay there were a large amount of American service men staying at the hotel for some reason. While this maybe the norm for the area I would of appreciated it if the swearing between them in conversation could of been kept to a minimum as it's not something I would expect from any family friendly hotel let alone a Hilton .

Fantastic hotel near American Village. We had a top floor ocean side room. Fabulous view of the promenade and the great sunset. The breakfast buffet offered lots of Japanese and Western options. As we were there in the off season the pool area was very quiet, one day we were the only ones there. The waterslide is a fun way to cool off.

The Double Tree hotel Okinawa Chatan is a nice hotel in the Chatan area next to a large Hilton. It shares facilities with the large Hilton which is next door. The Double Tree has its own pool, but so does the Hilton – the Hilton’s pool is much larger, but tended to be more crowded so I preferred the pool at the Double Tree. The gym is located in the Hilton and is well maintained albeit a bit small. The staff at the Double Tree is very nice, and I was upgraded to a larger room probably due to the fact that I have Hilton Gold status, or maybe because I was in Okinawa for a work trip, but I was pleasantly surprised at the size of my room. It also had a little patio with a decent view of evening fireworks which went off at least twice during my 6 day stay. A couple of criticisms: the hotel’s only bar (which aside from drinks only serves small snacks) is only open on the weekends, it seems it used to be open all the time before the pandemic, but now it’s only open Friday evening to Sunday; and while the outside roof venue is nice, there was only one person working when I went up my last Friday evening. The worker was also less than enthusiastic, overall I feel like they could do more with this venue. The buffet breakfast was decent, which was included in my rate (also because of my Hilton status), worth opting for in your rate if you get to choose. The Chatan area is a weird mix of kitschy U.S. themed stuff that attracts Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese tourists, and also seems to be the go-to hangout area for the U.S. military personnel stationed nearby. The restaurants are mostly mediocre, and the theme of the area is confusing. The architecture of the shopping arcade almost looks Mediterranean or Southern European, overall it’s all very cheesy. It’s fine the first couple of days, but after a couple more days I almost wished I had stayed in Naha where there is more local stuff and maybe better food. But that’s just me. In summary though, the hotel is a nice property, the staff are nice, the rooms are better than expected; and since I assume most of the people coming to stay in this part of Okinawa are coming for work, I think the hotel and the area would probably suit most U.S.G travelers’ needs. I would add though, if you're coming to Okinawa for vacation, stay in a different area.

The DoubleTree Hotel is easy to find and provides easy access to the beach, shops, restaurants, and more. You catch the scenery from the skyline to the boardwalk. Staff and amenities are great.

This resort is a fresh new hotel. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The views from the hotel are spectacular. Service was exceptional.
