A famous temple with a tall Buddha statue in Thalawatugoda. Every year they perform a drumming & dance event, an ancient ritual called 'GAMMADUWA' where hundreds of male dancers clad in white dance to invoke blessings of God Paththini.

Peaceful and calm temple, plenty of parking available.

One of the ancient temples in the area. Calm and a spacious temple, typically not crowded. In the evening you can spend couple of hours peacefully. Ample car parking space inside the temple. There are no flower shops near, bring whatever you want from home.

Historic temple of Malwathu side. Has a huge Buddha statue, a beautiful bo tree and a dewala area.

This is one of the most calming peaceful temples around this area. The area of worship with bodhi tree, pagoda and buddha shrine is all located in one section with lot of space for devotees to pray without disturbing each other. The newly erected standing posture buddha statue looks on the temple and is seen from afar. There are good and clean facilities for devotees to prepare their offerings also. Definitely a good temple to visit if you want to pray in peace. Also the shrine room walls are decorated with art depicting important events from the life of Load buddha as well as some of the more important reincarnations of budhisathwa before his last birth.
