土曜日の午後に訪問。売り物を見てさっと帰るつもりでしたが、その時にいらっしゃったお店の方が、もしよろしければと工場の方をガイドしてくださいました。カナダから来たという外国人のお兄さんでしたが日本語がとても上手で、何よりもこちらの工場で作られる作品に心から魅せられているとのことで、説明いただく言葉の端々にその思いが滲み出ていました。土曜日でしたが作業されている職人さんもおり、その工程や、工場の雰囲気、銅を叩く音、昔のゆがみのある工場のガラスから差し込んでくる日差しなどにつつまれて、素敵な見学となりました。
そのあとに完成品の売り物を見せていただきましたが大変趣のあるお品ばかり、特にお兄さんが特にお好きだという大槌のおちょこは家族全員が心を奪われてしまいました！その日は見学のみの予定でしたので購入には至りませんでしたが、そのうちぜひ購入したいお品です。ちなみに玉川堂さんが作られているお茶の葉も売っています。お品物を見ていたときにご馳走になり、美味しかったので購入しました。見学は職人さんが作業されていたり、工場も大きくはないので、少人数のほうが都合が良さそうです。事前にアポイントをとったほうが良いですね。同日、スイスから旅行で来たという方も見学にいらっしゃったそうです。
