[ONLY
ONE
STAR
GIVEN

NOTE:
THE
5
Star
reviews
are
fake.
They're
from
employees
and
friends.
My
brother
was
admitted
to
a
(7-day)
detox/
(28-day)
Drug
Rehab
unit
in
this
hospital.
Upon
admission,
although
he
was
assigned
a
Social
worker,
Caroline
Brown,
there
was
no
one
there
to
consult
with.
Caroline
appeared
rude
and
irritable
and
was
not
available
for
questions
from
any
family
members
present.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
staff
appeared
to
be
rude
overloaded,
and
had
no
patient
concern.
No
compassion
to
be
found.
I
witnessed
people
in
the
waiting
room
with
alcohol
(yes,
alcohol
in
a
rehab
facility).
My
brother
said
there
was
"activity"
on
the
admittance
floor
too.
With
little
time
to
search
for
other
options,
I
left
my
brother
to
begin
his
treatment.
Over
the
next
3
days,
I
called
and
left
messages
with
Caroline,
Dr.
Seawall
and
her
assistant
approximately
10
times.
After
receiving
no
return
calls,
I
drove
to
the
hospital
(Westchester
from
Long
Island)
in
the
hopes
of
getting
an
update.
Caroline
was
notified
by
the
front
desk
that
I
was
there,
but
she
said
that
she
was
"too
busy"
to
talk
to
me.
Security
handed
me
the
phone
and
I
pleaded
with
her
to
give
me
5
minutes.
I
explained
my
commute
and
told
her
I
was
concerned
for
my
brother
(he
had
congestive
heart
failure
in
addition
to
an
addition
to
heroin
usage)
and
was
I
hoping
to
get
some
reassurance,
and
to
discuss
a
plan.
I
also
told
her
that
I
knew
she
must
be
busy
so
I
would
wait
until
she
could
see
me.
I'd
wait
hours
if
need
be.
She
agreed
but
after
an
hour
called
the
front
desk
and
told
security
to
tell
me
to
leave.
She
would
not
see
me,
or
even
talk
with
me
further.
(btw,
I
am
my
brother's
health
proxy,
and
have
further
authorization
to
act
on
his
behalf.)
Immediately
my
gut
churned
and,
although
I'd
lost
sleep
for
the
past
3
days,
this
was
the
moment
I'd
decided
to
search
for
a
rehab
elsewhere
once
his
detox
was
finished.
For
those
who
are
not
familiar
with
this
whole
process,
I'll
just
say
that
it
was
a
miracle
that
I
found
another
rehab
for
my
brother
in
3
days
that
was
willing
to
accept
him
with
his
heart
condition.
Unfortunately,
the
place
I
found
would
not
be
available
to
take
him
until
1
day
after
his
detox
was
completed
at
St.
Johns.
Although
I
explained
this
to
Caroline
and
her
Clinical
Supervisor,
Victoria
Smith,
they
were
unwilling
to
allow
him
to
stay
an
additional
day.
To
my
disbelief,
without
notifying
me,
my
brother
was
hauled
in
an
Uber
and
sent
to
my
home
in
Long
Island
in
the
middle
of
the
day,
without
notifying
me.
Victoria
called
to
inform
me
once
he
was
en
route.
(I
had
to
leave
my
job
immediately.)
There
waiting
for
me
was
my
brother,
a
man
who
had
just
completed
detox,
congestive
heart
failure,
sitting
on
my
steps
in
90
degree
weather.
Good
job
Saint
Johns.
God
help
you
if
you
have
little
resources
and
no
where
to
go.
I
found
out
later
that
to
discharge
people
without
a
plan
is
not
legal.
However,
that's
what
they
do.
Thus,
the
explanation
for
the
zombies
walking
around
begging,
dealing
and
using
drugs
within
feet
of
the
facility.
If
you
have
no
choice
but
to
go
to
this
rehab,
please,
please
make
sure
there
is
someone
that
could
advocate
for
you.
I
truly
believe
my
brother
would
be
dead
had
it
not
been
for
his
family.
