St. John's Riverside Hospital truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the staff. The hospital's state-of-the-art facilities showcased their commitment to providing top-notch healthcare. What stood out the most was the level of care I received from the medical team, particularly from Dr. Brian Sanders. Dr. Sanders went above and beyond to ensure not only my medical needs were met, but also that I felt genuinely cared for. His deep expertise, combined with his compassionate and attentive approach, left a lasting impression on me. Throughout my stay, Dr. Sanders took the time to explain procedures, answer questions, and alleviate any concerns I had. His ability to communicate complex medical information in a clear and empathetic manner truly set him apart. The hospital's emphasis on patient comfort was evident in every detail, from the cozy and clean rooms to the efficient and well-organized processes. It's clear that patient well-being is a priority here, and Dr. Sanders exemplifies this commitment through his exceptional patient care. Additionally, I must commend the nursing staff at St. John's Riverside Hospital for their remarkable dedication and care. The nurses consistently demonstrated a level of kindness and attentiveness that made my stay all the more comfortable and reassuring. Their tireless efforts did not go unnoticed, and their support played a significant role in making my experience truly exceptional

And here I thought there was hope for a hospital in the New York area. Front entrance paints this nice picture for you until you head to the basement E.R. Totally disappointed. Went in with my sick pregnant wife and son. Took them about 2 hours and it was only to grab the insurance information. Of course they want to make sure you are insured. Typical. To the left of us there was a lady waiting for hours on a wheel chair throwing up. To the right there was a lady with a dislocated finger waiting for hours as well. The lady was in massive amounts of pain and when she asked the lady who checks you In how much longer. She said she doesn’t know and there was nothing else she can do. Wow. After waiting longer me and sick pregnant girlfriend and my son had no choice to leave. When we said we was going to leave. They didn’t even care. Took my son to another hospital and found out he has the flu and low oxygen level. It’s really Sad that we had to go to another hospital. You go to the E.r with and emergency and expect to not wait so long. Sorry to say the world we live in no one really cares.

My name is Sara. My family owns a deli in Scarsdale New York. At the early part of this pandemic back in March Me and my 74 year old father decided to make 4 large party trays of sandwiches to bring/ give to St. Johns Riverside Hospital. I mean come on everyone who is working around the clock in the hospital deserves something for being so dedicated to the cause. So my father and I loaded up our deli's delivery truck with the 4 sandwich platters. When we arrived to the hospital there is a entrance in the back of the hospital for deliveies. So I pulled into the parking lot and drove to the top of the long driveway. When we got to the top my father got out of the van with his mask and gloves on as did I. We opened the back of the truck and each took one platter out and proceeded to walk up to the delivery receiving door. A Woman was out side in the back of the hospital with her face shield and mask on, so I politely walk towards her and asked is we could deliver these 2 platters to the staff members who work in the warehouse and also the people who are forgotten because they are working as other employees just not on the front line like a doctor, nurse or anyone who has to first hand take care of the covid 19 patients. It was a gesture from us to the hospital staff who are not always seen but are definitely working hard to make the hospital countine to provide service to the patients. The ID that the woman had on showed her name and also the department she worked for. Her name is Ambar but unfortunatly i could not really see what her last name was but she works for the Purchasing department. I tried to make small talk with her letting her know the reason why we are hear. Well let me tell you what happens next. She literally ask me and my father is all we got is sandwiches. But wait it gets better. We asked is we could go up to the delivery door to drop off the platters, that is when she said to me well if all you guys got is sandwiches we don't need them because we get that all the time. She was the rudest person I ever met. And trust me I encounter all types of people while working up front at my families deli. The crazy thing is that she had a nasty attitude for no reason, she does not have a drop of customer service in her body. I actually teared up when this happened. So me and my father put the platters back in the truck and drove to the front to just give it to the security officers in the front. This is my point to everyone, regardless of what is happening there is no need for a hospital employee to be so nasty, negative and rude. It was a natural thing for her to be so rude. When we got to the front of the hospital I was intears and shock so I told the security guard who was collecting the platters from us, what just happened in the back of the hospital, do you no that he knew exactly who I was refering to he also informed me that she has been at the hospital for some yeas now and that she works in the store room. How is it that other people actually no this one person by her character and behavior. Shame on St.Johns Riverside Hospital for allowing this kind of person to get paid to be negative to others. I was not going to even address this issue but because I just found out how that experience affected my father I was left with no choice. My father told my mother about that encounter and was crying. He also told her to let him die at home when the time comes because he can't see himself in a hospital setting where he will be treated poorly and can't defend himself. I was crushed and devastated. She has zero I mean absolutely zero people skills. The security guard stated to me that he worked there over 20 years. The security guard actually knows this woman from the way she communicates with people. I just don't get it.

This is a better late than never review. Because I hope it would help someone make a better decision. While 8 months pregnant I began contracting and visited this hospital, as it was closer than my designated delivery hospital in Greenwich, CT. I was experiencing what I thought to be gas pains that were later confirmed to be contractions about every 30-45 minutes. At St. John’s I was put on an IV and discharged within 2 hours and told to drink more water. I was also encouraged to have my baby delivered at St. John’s for fear that I wouldn’t make it to Greenwich. 3 hours later I was still contracting and was taken to my designated Greenwich Hospital and was informed I was in pre-term labor, they were flabbergasted to know that I was in a hospital earlier in the day and discharged. Thank God for Greenwich Hospital or I would’ve probably given birth to a preemie at 8 months.

The ER is the worst in this hospital, they leave you in pain for hours even if you feel like dying. I took my grandmother two times already and both times they leaver her waiting and she is old, she does not have the energy that young people have

If not for the hard working, compassionate and diligent staff like RN G. Sukhvir, I would give St. Johns a 1 star. A patient had to call me at work for help because she had been ringing the call bell but no one came. She was having difficulty breathing and no one came to her aide. I had to keep her on the line and call the hospital from another phone to get someone to rush to her room. The operator put me thru to the nursing station 10/25/22 at 3pm and a very rude person picked up, I told her the situation and she angrily told me the patient has never rang the call bell and someone is in her room right now. I told her maam the patient is on speaker with me and no one is in her room and she is still ringing the bell. The person said she has never rang the bell and hung up on me!! Thankfully another nurse came into the room and attended to the patient. I could hear the rude person loudly talking in the background. The patient could have stopped breathing and no one would have known.

Let me start off by saying this is the hospital where my children were born, this is the hospital I’ve personally have visited in times of emergencies, this is the hospital where my wife goes to when she has an emergency. I’m almost 30 now and I can tell you that this place has gotten worse in the last 10-15 years both professionally and medically. I almost died here when I caught covid19 back in March! And 2 days ago (09/23/2020) my mother had an accident in the city of yonkers and was rushed to this hospital at 1:30pm, we’ll let me tell you that if my mother didn’t have her phone in the ER I would have not gotten any information from the hospital until 9PM when a nice ER rep picked up the phone and gave me the info I needed. For 8 hours I was in limbo bc the ER department would not give me any info on my mothers condition or situation. The ER lady who actually spoke to me at 2:30pm told me rudely she wasn’t going to give me any information and I asked for her manager or supervisor and she said fine and left me on hold for nearly 10 mins (never spoke to her superior), this frustrated me so much even more so bc I was in Manhattan at the time and couldn’t make it right away to go get some answers in person. Well I left a message with the President of the hospital and 2 days later no answer. I left a message with the Director of the ER dept and 2 days later still no answer. I left a message with the Director of Human Resources and 2 days later still no answer. If my mother didn’t have her phone on her than for 8 hours I would have been with out any info. I’m a yonkers native and my whole family has been using the services from this hospital for over 20 years and I’m done with it, if their were words to describe how disgusted I am with this place I would list it here but the closest thing I can think of is this place is an abomination. It’s sad bc theirs a standard of care that medical professionals are held to but here it seems as if that isn’t the case. If you work at the hospital and are reading my review feel free to go through all the voice recordings of the phones calls I’m referring to, I had expected a call back from your facility by now but honestly thank you for not calling me back it’s clear from the way you guys handle yourselves that your reputation isn’t something of importance to you.

Had my son here, so I am very thankful of the staff for delivering him safe. The staff/nurses were very nice and helpful. I only wished they gave classes on baby care and other things etc that other hospitals provide. As with all hospitals don’t forget to bundle up if your staying long because it gets very cold if not you’ll end up sick the next day.

I went to my doctor with a swollen stomach and stomach pain, and so he told me to go to the St Johns Riverside Hospital emergency room to get blood work done and a scan on my stomach . My doctor said that he would alert the ER to let them know that I was coming there. Once I got there I was triaged and they took my medical insurance information, and then I was taken to the back waiting area where I sat for an hour while my nurse ghosted me. I observed one person who came before me receive an antibiotic, and one other person who came after me get an IV and pain meds, while I didn’t get anything for my stomach pain , nor did my nurse take my blood, or urine as I sat there waiting for him for an hour with a full bladder. I felt forgotten, neglected, disrespected, and really disgusted. I got up to look for my nurse, but I couldn’t find him anywhere so I just went home. I felt more worse than before I came here because I ended up with a headache due to my blood pressure going up from this whole ordeal. I never wanted to come here.

The ER did not have Doctors on site, only RN's and a NP. It took 5 staff members working together to insert an IV. The staff spoke poorly about their patients loud enough that I could hear every word. Nurse Patty and acting head of the department Callie Weiss were very unprofessional and displayed the "Karen" attitude. I removed my loved one immediately, I wouldn't trust them with the care of my turtle.

Security Guards at the ER entrance should be removed & replaced immediately! I am still in disbelief and still trying to process my experience. What I hope is St John’s Hospital Human Resource Dept. looks into their questionable employee’s. This is a hospital and employee’s should have basic communicative skills with the population they’re working with! I am almost certain this is not the first nor last time people will encounter the type of behavior I and my family did! Unacceptable and not a way to interact with people seeking medical attention!

Terrible experience with this Doctor Evan Berman Just came out of his office and he was all over my face harassing me. He was rude and inpatient with me. Why take new patients if he can't be respectful and patient. Did not care about my medical history he was more concerned about why and where I was coming from. He is not professional. I would never recommend this Doctor for any type of condition. Maybe he is hiding something from his pass that scares him.

My two sons were born here and both times everyone was so nice and sweet. Everyone in this hospital is really great from the doctors to the nurses to the security guys. Took my son last night to the ER for having cough and fever and he was treated so fast. Everybody I met last night were so kind. Love this hospital❤️❤️

Went there on New Year's eve. Wonderful staff. Courteous and super professional. Nurse Moran was so comforting.CAT scan operator was the best . Emergency room was not crowded like other New York hospitals. And to top it, I didn't have to pay for parking. Five Stars I'm giving St. John's at Riverside.

Saint johns hospital but lately I think they only care about is productivity or numbers I went in there just paying and I couldn't be ran all the test. test came out negative for Covid and everything else except for flu no antibiotics or no nothing he just send me home for 3 days told me. I'll be fine less then 72 I am back in the ER in the Bronx because I still can't breathe and my chest hurt. The staff doesn't communicate with one another every time somebody came and talk to me saying question and I always have to tell them that all somebody already came in or the doctor didn't come and explain it to you, so I don't recommend the EMS even stated that we should go to the Lawrence hospital or outside of Yonkers and I recommend that.

I wish i could give them 0 stars! We've been here 5 hours for my wife who's been in severe pain for 3 days. And all that's happened after 5 hours is they took her blood and urine and gave her an ultrasound. 5 hours! Nobody talks to you, if you ask a question they look at you like your bothering them! I want to be supportive that they are front line workers but they act like we don't matter! We haven't even started a discussion with anyone as to what's wrong

I went there on 09/27/2020 around 12 am, with my 7 weeks baby boy sick. And they told me wait for a nurse in the Emergency waiting area, and i waited for more than 1 hour and nobody ask me what happens with the baby. I ended living the hospital to another because they acted as they did not care nothing. Worst emergency are i have been.

I was in the care of the Ambulatory department yesterday for same day procedure and every single person that took care of me was sweeter than the last. They really helped ease my nerves and make it a pleasant experience all around (well, as pleasant as it could be under the circumstances). So grateful for each one of them.

If I can give 0 stars I would. 1 is decent just for the nurses being so nice. The male doctor I dealt with was TERRIBLE , it's my first time time having a child with contractions and all and I was spoken to very poorly that I even openly volunteered myself to get discharged and would not go back.

I am disabled and was disrespected by someone calling themselves a physician who by his own admission has never treated anyone with my condition when I gave him information that was pertinent to my care he totally disregarded it and because of it nothing got done a waste of four hours for something that had I’d been listened to as the patient would’ve taken all of 20 minutes I have called the hospital to file complaint twice and have not been followed up with By them at all that is pathetic… By patient Bill of Rights I am to be treated with respect I am to be listened to etc. etc. those two things are essential to care. Regardless of being disabled I was given neither what makes it worse is I’ve been going to this hospital for over 20 years furthermore the test that my physician ordered were not completed just because I’m disabled does not mean that I do not have the right to thorough care thorough care and sadly for the past 10 years I have not received thorough care because physicians are more concerned about what they feel like doing instead of doing what needs to be done and doing it in the manner that it needs to be done in not what makes them comfortable! They are only getting one star because I could not give them anything less.

Took my dad to ER only to wait 7 hours in total and left with no results. The Doctor who attended was great, very informative and caring, HOWEVER, we sat in ER for more than 6 hours awaiting radiology results, we left without it too. Radiology department needs to do BETTER. This is not okay.

(EDITED: added more).. Dr Chaudhri is the best doctor I've ever known, his ability to do surgery is uncanny. His hands have been blessed by the Lord. He's done two surgeries on me and you can barely see the scars if any. His staff from office to the hospital is a 5⭐, Jennifer is an angel and I'm not sure but I think her name was Evelyn (?), these gracious people are easy and wonderful to deal with. They keep you up to date. Dr Chaudhri is the Ace of the hospital. While in the hospital I'm giving this 5⭐ solely for the fourth (4th) floor. These people were absolutely fabulous. The ambulatory unit was fantastic also. A great team. I don't want to forget them. I had neck/spine surgery Sept 8 2022 and had to stay on the 8th floor, those people were idiots. Tell me this, for a hospital that says (St. as in Saint), where's a cross for those of us who believe?, Answer me that??

This place had me here from 3 and it is 5:30p now. I have yet to see a doctor. I was told I wasn’t going to see a doctor here, but the doctor came and saw this old white woman. This is DISGUSTING!! I TOO am in the medical field and this is NOT how you treat people based on the color of their skin!!!! This is THE worst!!!! Better off going to Mount Vernon Hospital!!!

The maternity section is amazing and the only reason I am giving it 2 stars. The ER on the other hand IS HORRIBLE, and I don't know if it's because they are short staffed but they will leave you waiting for HOURS. Doesn't matter if you're pregnant or with a 2 year old, they will make you wait. I have been here 5 hours so far with no end in sight. Also- they give your results publicly so everyone in the ER can hear everything. It's a joke.

2020 labor (during COVID pandemic ) - I've been coming to this hospital my entire life . Years ago i had my first born son here don't remember anything significant to be honest. I just had my second son here as well, and until now I've never experienced this hospital the way it's been (at least the Labor department) . I have been in and out for weeks with in the past 2 months due to pregnancy complications. Everytime I've come here it has been clean, communication is clear, my doctors (s/o to the WestMed OBGYN team super amazing ) have been 100% concerned and followed up w/ me about everything. The nurse , RN ,Midwife team here at Saint Johnson riverside have ALL been amazingly helpful and 100% on point, they have taken care of me as well as my own mother and that says a lot. From easy transitions of the night to morning shift nurses w/ RN Jackie, and RN Nathalie, and many others during my recovery, they made sure to remind me how to care for myself and baby post labor .all the nurses introduced theirselves and were totally helpful but I'm so bad w/ names and have been here countless times i can't remember all the staff so s/o to all of u . My delivery team was exceptional (thank you ladies and Dr. Gerber) .. my entire experience was comfortable. EVERYONE wore a mask at all times, practiced and enforced social distancing, sanitizing maskwearing and made sure i was comfortable with during every visit no matter if it was a simple COVID test, till the day of my delivery and everything in between. ... surprisingly the food even got better - i do remember that lol . Would i have my third child here? Absolutely! Do i plan on it anytime soon tho ? No lol

Absolutely the worst hospital experience. Went into emergency, after waiting an hour for my boyfriend to be seen for severe abdominal pain from a prior cancer surgery, weakness and possible cancer returning, he got blood and IV drawn in the waiting room, around 10 other people. Nurse missed the vein, re did the IV and his entire arm went numb and cold. Was told no further tests would be conducted and we wouldnt even see a doctor. When asked to get the IV out, they tried telling him what he was feeling wasnt true and took another 20min until they returned to take it out. Was then told we could wait up to another 3 hours just to get a referral and discharge paperwork. Also had several other patients around us complaining to staff as well. Terrible hospital. Better off dead before you come here for treatment.

Yonkers is very lucky to have St. John’s Riverside Hospital in our community. After taking my cousin there last week for a procedure, the hospital is really making great improvements and patient care is only getting better. Thank you to Dr. Ammir Rabadi, my cousin’s doctor and Chief of Staff of the hospital for his commitment to the health and well-being of the people of Yonkers.

The detox part of the hospital which is like a mile away is probably the worst place I've ever been to In My Life they literally have people waiting outside the waiting area for 15 hours just to get in the back and rest I do not understand why they do this to these people a lot of them have mental issues and it was very scary will never go back to this area let alone this hospital again

Came to this hospital because my moms boyfriend was not well and he came with an ambulatory service. We waited in a bed for 30 minutes and not one person came to greet/acknowledge him. We walked out and went to another ER. Had he been dying, he would have died there with help from absolutely no one. Waiting room was empty.

Dear HR, Re: job posting #2021-4981 (in response to an email you sent on 08/11/22) I searched high and low on my email today, August 11, 2022, and realized I sent this job application last September 28, 2021! I can't believe it took you almost one year to even send a generic rejection letter to a job applicant. That is simply unacceptable and unprofessional, and speaks volumes on how this organization is dismally run. No licensed healthcare professional job applicant should have to go through such disrespect from any organization. Nonetheless I still appreciate this so-called courtesy email. The audacity to even send one this very late is jaw-dropping, if not laughable—thanks for making my day. I don't expect this email reply to even reach a human being there—because my awfully unpleasant experience has shown the contrary. Your department is disorganized and inefficient—I don't expect much from it. But I will still press the send button here nevertheless, hoping you receive an honest and unvarnished feedback to a lamentable job application process deficiently executed by an untrustworthy HR organization clearly in shambles. All the best, Shell-shocked job applicant

I was born at St. Johns, I am 56 and still going there. Staff makes you feel comfortable, testing is done quickly, and hospital is very clean. Dr. Ammir Rabadi, who is Chief of Staff, runs a tight ship and happens to be the most thorough and best physician I have ever come across.

I arrived at the emergency room this past Thursday for a rapid heart beat. Drove myself and parked in an available space. Walked into the emergency room. In less that five minuets had an E K G, was in an E R room on the bed, within minuets had three doctors and a nurse taking blood and administering. In five min I had bloods and an x ray. From time in to being thoroughly treated was less than half an hour. My cardiologist, Dr Bradlowe who is affiliated with the hospital was in contact contact with the attending staff, and was seen by one of his associates within the hour. The nurses and doctors were amazing. My prescriptions were called in and I was out before noon with a treatment plan you can’t ask for anything better than that.

I went in and unfortunately had to wait 8 hours to speak to a doctor. I spoke to a resident who helped me initially with a pap exam but never saw her again. The only reason the hospital will get 3 stars is because Nurse Greg was so attentive and made sure I was taken care of. He was the best.

It was a mad house .. they were taking care of at least 65 patients at all times thru the whole time I was there .. I never once felt like I wasn't being cared for.. the staff was amazing under pressure sure there was a wait but at no time did I feel alone. The triage nurse and the front door staff at emergency are exceptional people which shines thru in their care ... definitely a place you can go and know you will be treated with dignity and respect but most of all ... COMPASSION ❣️❣️❣️❣️

I have to say that I absolutely loved my experience with this hospital. The staff are genuinely nice and caring. I went there twice in two years for labor and delivery. Both experiences were phenomenal. Nurse Karen, Nurse Nikita, Nurse Aida, Nurse Theresa and last but definitely not the least my Dr. Demasio. Everyone was very nice. I know I left out some names that I don't remember but I just want to say a huge thank you to a wonderful staff. The care and compassion is top notch is my opinion. They really go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable and well taken care of. Thank you so much from my heart. Lots of love to the staff and huge amounts of gratitude to everyone. The owner and the directors need to know that everyone did amazing job this weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

Dr Ali is the best thank you for the outstanding medical attention your team and you provided me. Thank you Shane. I think his name is Corey gentleman that was with him, brown skin, they were very patient with me while drawing blood. He was able to find my vein right away, which for me is always a challenge. Sorry for screaming! Thank you to all the nurses. The staff was patient, efficient and supportive. I went there barely able to walk and the security gentleman (do not know his name), met me in the parking lot with a wheel chair. Very nice ! Thank you sir. I left walking normal from sever pain of having an enlarged, infected abscess. I am very pleased with my visit. God is awesome! Thank you Jesus for leading me to St John’s Riverside Hospital I recommend this hospital to anyone

I recently had the privilege of having my daughter born at St. John’s Riverside Hospital and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The hospital staff was exceptional from start to finish. They were knowledgeable, compassionate, and went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were comfortable and well taken care of. The services offered were top-notch and everything was well-organized, from the prenatal care to the delivery and postpartum care. I was truly impressed with the level of care and attention we received from everyone at the hospital. I highly recommend St. John’s Riverside Hospital to anyone in need of medical services. The staff and facilities are second to none and will not disappoint.

I'm surprised this hospital only has 2.7 star at the time I'm writing this review. I believe everyone has different experiences so i decided to take the time to write about my mother experiences here " I'm so glad I came to this hospital the staff and the doctors are very friendly and they constantly check on me to see how I'm feeling and make sure i was okay i would recommend this hospital" .

The bedside manner these doctors and nurses have is quite unique to this hospital. They keep a lightheartedness to them that puts me at ease. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Some above and beyond staff from my most recent visit were, Z. Khan, MD, Sadloo, RES EM, Nurse STK as well as the team that got together to figure out the solution to my problem. Thank you to our essential workers on the frontline, you're all deeply appreciated 🙏

I brought my son in because he has pneumonia we waited 2 hours for the triage nurse and my 5yr old son had a hard time breathing. Once I saw a patient leaving and saw the doors open I rushed to get the nurse because my son was going to pass out. You guys have to step It up before you guys KILL in the waiting room!

Two Park Avenue the detox is horrific I was here exactly 20 days ago and the service was like night and day as Surgery didn’t want to look at my three incisions they gave me a room with no shower and it didn’t give me a pillow for 24 hours and never did get that pillow. didn’t serve me breakfast. I left in tears as crying in the car the whole time home do not come here they’re about to close this place. This facility has not been what it was. still Don’t waste your time go someplace else if you want to live because these guys will make you wanna kill yourself.

This review is long overdue, this dates back to April of 2021 when Covid was happening. I walked into the hospital with a 104 degree fever and they sent me straight into an isolated room, a person from billing hands me a clip board with papers to sign, i sign the documents. (I have hospital insurance.) So here comes the doctor, the doctor talks to me from the door with an apr mask, never coming within 5 feet of me. She tells me to take Tylenol and rest. There’s nothing the hospital can really do. So there’s that. A couple months pass by and i receive a bill that i was supposed to pay over 1 thousand dollars because of the visit that April. I was under the impression if anything Covid related was covered by the government. Going back and forth they never took my insurance information. So i submitted that and they told me i had to pay that fee, which was one hundred fifty dollars. I didn’t want to pay It because i received no service from the doctor i saw that day. The doctor was scared enough that she didn’t want to come within 5 feet of me. So i complained and spoke to a Mr. Donald Tedder, he told me to write down my experience and he’ll submit It to the board for further review. He was a nice guy that seemed like he wanted to help me because he understood how upset i was. So the letter i wrote gets denied of course, and you know what i just ended up paying the hundred fifty, It was awful service and experience. So if you’re wondering why i did this review this late? I thought i was done with all of this, until recently i received a phone call from a debt collector that i owe two hundred and forty dollars for a payment to a doctor that i never met. So i instantly called riverside billing to find out what’s the problem because i already paid the copayment of one hundred fifty dollars, the lady noted that was there but wasn’t sure why i had that 240 bill, until i told her i got billed from dobbs ferry emergencies. She said that when i came into the hospital that day in April that they had a sign saying i was in charge of an extra payment that covers mri/ X-ray etc. I never saw that sign because they sent me straight into a room and i was handed a clip board. No where on the bill does It say anything about providing insurance, So my experience in this hospital when i had Covid and a 104 degree fever. I don’t have to explain how disoriented i was, this hospital took advantage of me and charged me for everything they could. I got charged to sit in a room , i had a doctor that looked like she was prepared to walk on the moon and got an extra bill from some doctor i never met to look over my chart. The doctor staff and billing team is by for the worst.

I had to admit my mom to the hospital for a few days due to both legs wound. My mom was praising the staff of how well she was taken care of. The doctors, case worker, hospital staff have kept me informed during her stay. I am very pleased. The admission was very good to us as well. I am definitely returning to this hospital again. Thumbs up!

On Sunday, January 23rd, 2024 I was admitted to St. John’s Riverside Hospital for the umpteenth time due to a diabetic ulcer on my toe that became severely infected. Dr. Keith Bortniker came to my room that evening for debridement of the wound and make me aware of the different situations that can happen once an MRI was taken. He has always been a straight shooter with me and doesn’t sugar coat anything which is one of many reasons I trust him so much. Seeing him that Sunday evening put me at ease even though I knew the outcome probably wasn’t going to be very good. The MRI showed osteomyelitis and half of my toe was amputated on Tuesday the 25th. The bone was severely infected and I felt this was the best course of treatment for my situation. I’ve been hospitalized at St. John’s several times and have been going to their wound care center for many years. Sometimes my friends will ask “Why St. John’s?” The answer is simple. Because I trust the doctors and nurses there with my life! They’ve been treating me at that hospital for years and know my medical history. Somehow, whenever I’m admitted I end up on 8 west where the staff is amazing and most know me by name from being on that floor so many times. From Dr. Michelle (Mangini?) to the charge nurse Mary right down to the nurses and assistants they treat me with respect, compassion and go above and beyond to always ensure I’m comfortable and have everything I need. As for Dr. B and the wound care nurses I can’t say or thank them enough for the way they’ve taken care of me over the years. I’ve had a lot of food issues because of my diabetes and their team does all they can to to help me heal. But it doesn’t stop there. I’ve come to know the security staff, several doctors and nurses. Many of them will stop by my room just to see how I’m doing if they find out I’m hospitalized. Anyone who has spent time hospitalized know that a simple “Hello, how are feeling today?” can be uplifting. People like Tim Hodges, Jimmy Leviness and others… you just find people like them in other hospitals and I’ve been to plenty. Even on those days when the ER is packed, I’d rather wait there than go to another hospital. If you want quality medical care this is the place to go. THANK YOU for always taking good care of me. Sincerely, Danny Monge

Some nurses need training to be more compassionate towards others. In all of our hospital experiences, we've never been treated with such lack of compassion. Handicapped parking situation is atrocious as cars block handicapped spaces, numerous cars in spaces with no permits or wheelchair plates & cars standing in the spots thinking it's "ok" since they are not parked which still denies a disabled person the spot. We did bring it to the attention of security at the entrance to the lower level but were pretty much told it's not their problem. No discharge planning, social workers were difficult to get ahold of as well as no interactions from doctors while on vent floor. One of the worst hospitals we've ever visited & if we could rate it no stars, we would have.

Over all my experience wasn't that bad I love the registration department they were very helpful in leading me and walking me over to where I had to be due to the fact I explained I was new to this hospital I wish I would of asked for her name but she has short blonde hair thank you to her ! In the other hand I can't say the same for my sonagrapher since the beginning she seem bothered she stated I was late in a very rude way not knowing that I was actually registering since I was a new patient . I was beyond scared and nervous for this appointment and she just did not made me feel save or relaxed she actually made me panic even more . Even though I had a referral with a diagnosis she had the nerve to state that it wasn't that and that it could just be a pimple mind you she's not a doctor nor was I asking questions . She made me feel like I was just being exta so I let her know that if my doctor send me to get this done it wasn't something I asked for.

I recently had surgery at this hospital, stayed as an inpatient one night, then returned a week later for a complication and stayed another week. Every single doctor, nurse, administrator went above and beyond to deliver professional, patient, and compassionate service. My only criticism was that the food service should learn what vegan food is and have real vegan options. They were kind and tried to be helpful, but very behind the times in that way. I also felt that some of the administrative paperwork was redundant and inefficient. I’m giving 5 stars though because the most important parts of medical care were top notch. Bravo. Oh, yeah, and the view…

The worst hospital to come in specially to the emergency room. They will leave you downstairs for 2 to 3 days. Even if you have a family member they wouldn’t give you a pillow. They would leave you sitting on a chair is the word hospital. I haven’t been in touch with my disability son.

Never a bad experience but for outpatient services you will save a lot going elsewhere. Endoscopy was well over a thousand after insurance. Make sure your insurance company can clarify their "agreement" with st John's before making a commitment. Hudson Valley Radiology is across the street for MRI etc.

The compassion and expert care the of the doctors, nurses, techs, housekeepers, dietary staff and case workers are second to none Dr. Tebow and Nurse Scott in the E.R. literally saved my life after making a quick diagnosis of a bile duct obstruction. I was there last weekend with my daughter for an accident on ankle X-ray and all were done rushed off with just a sprained ankle. After calling for two days to get results I Was told in a few days she should be good on her foot atleast to move around. Thankfully I didn’t rush her and kept her on bed rest for as long as I saw fit. She got worst and was taken to her doctor and an orthopedic specialist to come find out it was never just a sprain but that her bone was actually broken. 😡😡😡😡 as quick as there service can be it’s not worth it if you just being left with false information.

Unfortunately, my mother and I had a terrible experience at this hospital. They took our info and then Waited 30 minutes before nurses realized my mother was in excruciating pain crying and took us to the back. Took an hour before the nurse (which we didn’t know what our nurse because he didn’t introduce himself) gave fluid and pain relief. Walking to the restroom, everyone gets in your way, janitor even tried to cut in front of her nearly tripping her. Took another hour for CT and ultrasound. We were suppose to get walked back by a nurse to the waiting room, no one showed up so I had to walk her back to the waiting room. Dr. Palvi is very rude and unfriendly. She talks over you, cuts you off without letting you finish a sentence. Would not recommend this hospital.
