The most beautiful and impressive museum in the city! It takes two hours to see it all. It has a wide range of themes, the most impressive exhibits are the paintings and the hall in the great hall. Worth a walk in the park afterwards

One of the best places in Napoli! The atmosphere in the gardens, the palm trees next to the beautiful red castle! Once inside, you'll immerse yourself into Napoletan art (and not only). The painting collection is impressive, the armory as well! I recommend arriving around 10:30 or 11, to finish the first floor by noon, because at noon the second floor is opening the gates for a small window of time - and that second floor has the richest art collection! At the first floor you'll find a Napolitan artist playing the piano, a very touching and emotional experience!

The visit of this museum was quite underwhelming. We visited on Sunday in August 2023. The most important works were on display in Louvre in Paris, and we knew this in advance. However, the first floor of the museum was also closed and they still charged everyone full price - 15 euro. So, all the most important works are absent and half of the museum closed but still pay the full price if you want to visit. I recommend to postpone your visit until 2024 when the part of the collection is back from the Louvre. There are so many other wonderful places to visit in and around Naples. The park is beautiful and very well-kept.

Here the art is at it's home. They have Caravaggio, Raffaello, Vasari and way more artists. I can't comment about them. They are pure art, from God. Besides there are a lot of breathtaking paintings, you can find here also wonderful sculptures. All on 3 floors. The art pieces are well protected by sensors that are all-round and that beep when you get too close. Around the musem there is also the perfectly designed park, where you hear nothing but the birds and sometimes an airplane which will land at Naples Airport. P.S. The GreenPass is needed here.

Beautiful park right outside of Naples. Open at 7pm to dusk. A restaurant cafe located inside. A museum to check out too. Plenty of open space to have a picnic. Right next to the museum is a beautiful view of the city. Plenty of free parking on the street every time I go there.

Extraordinarily beautiful museum on the hill in the fresh air above noisy Naples. This former royal palace and hunting lodge was so big that for much of the time I had the whole place to myself. If you like walking you can get here from the city centre on foot.

Very nice museum, lots of parking spots around the museum, not sure if it's got one of its own; we parked our car else where and walked it down to museum. Very picturesque, lots of paintings from middle ages, many floors to see, helpful and friendly staff. Entry fee applies though

Nice museum with a lot of (post-)renaissance art, located on top of a hill. Unfortunately some showpieces were on loan to other museums that was not indicated anywhere... Considering this, it is a bit pricey (15euro) with no offered student discounts. Also worth visiting the park surrounding the museum!

A quite superb collection of masterpieces. Do not visit Naples without visiting this museum ! It has also generously placed many of its master works on public domain access so they can be easily shared. I wish more museums would do this.

I didn't expect that exhibition of ceramic (which even sounds boring, huh?) could be so fascinating and exciting! Pure pleasure! Opera of Puccini in your headphones, figures in lush crinolines and wigs, carefully detailed scenery and finally magnificent laser show - this everything puts you into atmosphere of royal Naples. Just unforgettable impression!

This is truly an amazing park. It's great to walk through it on a sunny day, it's also a great place to picnic (note: you can't go on some parts of the park). Tip: once you walk through the main entrance take the first left and follow the path straight of you.

Hurry up! The museum is about to be refurbished and closed for a couple of years. Caravaggio's collection already went to Louver, though there is an impressive, ongoing exhibition, “Beyond Caravaggio,” bringing together the master’s influence on his followers. The museum's permanent collection well unburdens after Biblical scenes: porcelain and sculpture are incredibly charming.

Naples is a wonderful city but sometimes it's good to leave the noise and bustle behind. So, head for Real Bosco di Capodimonte,of you're brave enough get a bus from the city centre for only 4 euro return for 2 people The park is an oasis and there are cafés where you can sit with a coffee or a glass of something and watch the world go by in peace and quiet

If you are in Naples, you can’t miss this stop! This museum has a huge gallery where you will admire the best of the Neapolitan art and of the Neapolitan Baroque. There is even a stunning painting of Caravaggio! If you are underage you will not even pay the ticket! Outside the museum there is a beautiful Royal Forest where you can walk and enjoy the view!

Wonderful museum, reach with western picture masterpieces as the likes of Tiziano (pope Paolo III and his nephews), Masaccio, Carracci, Caravaggio and Bruegel (blind men) and many others marvelous minors. Interesting section devoted to modern art. In addition there is no crowd and no queue as in Vatican museum. The location is the Capodimonte king's palace built by Carlo III in late baroque style and surrounded by a wonderful garden.

I really like the museum's idea how to use dummies to display its articles. There the paintings're not just painted canvas on the walls. Garments and music instruments're not just put lifeless in the cases. Everything's exhibited cleverly with some sense of humor. I'm very impressed! A museum doesn't have to be a big place with old things and long boring texts next to them.

The first floor had a very nice exposition that made you discover what Naples went through in terms of artistic trends. You download an app which plays an audio upon entering each room (some talking and classical music). Don't forget your earphones though ! 3rd floor had interesting contemporary art. 2nd floor wasn't interesting to me since it was all religious paintings from various era. It might be temporary but there was a really nice exhibit on the famous architect Calatrava (didn't know him) with lots of maquettes of his work around the world (buildings, bridges) and art.

Both the museum and the park were a wonderful surprise. The museum houses a great collection that is very well displayed. It was almost empty of visitors at the end of the day so it felt like we were at a private viewing. The park is beautifully maintained and is a convenient spot to get some respite from the Neapolitan heat. One thing to note is that the café does not accept cards.

(Translated by Google) The wide avenues allow the right distance even with high turnout. The air is always fresh and the Royal Palace is a feast for the eyes, as well as hosting exhibitions. The viewpoint side is absolutely impressive. The part of the old stables offers large green spaces useful for games and physical activities. In some areas there are tools useful for carrying out exercises and two dog areas are available, one of which is very large. For those wishing to relax at the bar there is one inside the Royal Palace. Overall a beautiful place, highly recommended.

I discourage you to go go the park because the menagement of the park don't care at all about the quality of the time that people spend in the park, instead they are focus on a no Sense control of the space with Extreme no Sense rules.

Nevertheless, don’t let them dampen your experience here!

To get there you have to take the bus from the Museo bus stop (there you will find more information about how to get to Capodimonte). I lost a lot of time figuring this out. I went to the Capodimonte mainly to visit the royal apartments. Alas it was closed and nobody warned me when I bought my ticket.

Excellent museum, both the regular ant the temporary exhibitions are great. The location on top of the hill offers great views! The full visit takes at least two hours. Bags aren't allowed inside but there is a free cloakroom. In the courtyard you'll find a small cafeteria as well.

A wonderful dive into the past. Nature, art accompany you to discover the places of Bourbon residence. Plants and trees distant species that surround the hill of Capodimonte.

Was really well priced if you're a student or under 25 - lots to see and very vast. i would recommend not going too close to closing as they close off certain floors at a certain time.

Great Park just outside of Naples. The view is amazing on a sunny day.

We couldn’t visit the museum inside the castle. The working hours are not updated in the site and you must visit at the morning. The gardens outside were beautiful - so green and gorgeous. There is a fountain and a view to the whole city.

A large art museum housed in a royal palace. Worth visiting to see a painting by Caravaggio and 2 paintings by Pieter Bruegel. The palace itself is also beautiful. Small cafe on the ground floor

Fascinating museum, take a look at their website, I wish I had more time to spend there. The gardens are a great place to spend a day with family or friends. And it's free

Amazing place to chill out with family (or alone) and have a picnic. If you want to rest from dusty, rushy and noisy city od Naples, there is nothing else to be recommended.

You have to walk up a hit from the lower city, but not as much as to castello Sant'Elmo. The gardens are huge, actually a forest with different shapes of alleys. Good to spend a few hours. Bad that many alleys are closed, also at least one entrance.

Loved the collection and the entire museum. The building and the garden with the view of the city is out of this world

One of the most incredible places I have ever seen. So much beautiful art, and sculptures. It was like I travelled back in time. The location is incredible. The calm, huge park is wonderful. It felt like I wasn't even in a big city. It is a must visit if you're in Napoli

Excellent museum but annoyed at the lack of English translations and context given compared to the Archeological Museum. Still a lovely collection of art. Glad I went for free the first Sunday of the month.

Amazing park and museum collections, from the most representative italian and foreign painters. I loved reneissance and baroque altar pieces (Caravaggio!) and contemporary collection, especially Warhol's Vesuvius. The museum is easy to access even by public transport (city sightseeing bus leaves from city center- piazza Trento e Trieste and takes you to the museum). The park (free entrance) and the museum are really big and full of artworks, so please make sure you have at least 4 hours of time and that you are well rested.

Make sure to book online in advance. Absolutely incredible, I spent hours here. Has a caffè in the courtyards, and plenty of grounds if you want to wander in the park.

A huge museum with so many paintings. A park not to be missed. Beautiful scenery and greenery too.

Lovely museum and gardens. Unfortunately when we visited four out of five of the floors were closed, meaning we missed out on seeing some paintings we were very excited to see. If everything was open, I would definitely rate 5*s. But as it stands, I enjoyed my time and will definitely return.

A must visit if you ever set your feet in Napoli. The scenic view from the top of the hill, the park, cafe inside … all amazing.

Nice view of the city with planes flying low, and a great turtle fountain. Not many benches to sit on . We didn't go to the museum so can't comment on it.

Amazing place, beautiful museum with a great view over the Naples bay. I'm surprised this place is not listed higher in the tourist guides. We went a bit late in the afternoon and had the whole museum only for us.
