We
are
from
Kolkata.
My
mother
75
years
old
went
to
Bombay
to
visit
my
brother.
She
is
a
heart
patient
with
a
history
of
CABG
and
valvoplasty
.
She
had
been
hospitalised
many
times
in
Kolkata
but
never
went
into
ventilation.
My
mother
went
to
Bombay
on
9th
October
2022,
fell
sick
was
admitted
in
Guru
Nanak
Hospital
Bandra
East
on
12th
October
and
all
of
a
sudden
she
was
put
into
ventilator
on
14th
October,
from
then
onwards
our
lives
and
my
momβs
life
was
like
living
in
hell
,
she
was
in
her
full
senses
and
her
suffering
was
unbearable
.
I
will
not
name
the
doctors
here
because
I
understand
they
are
helpless.
Every-time
we
asked
the
doctors
when
can
we
explain
her
to
ne
out
of
ventilator
they
would
evade
the
question
and
point
out
something
vague
to
support
their
theories.
On
22
nd
October
the
CEO
of
the
hospital
said
a
tracheotomy
has
to
done
on
her
which
we
had
to
agree
because
it
would
lessen
her
suffering
though
she
will
not
be
taken
out
of
ventilator.
From
that
day
it
became
clear
to
us
that
the
CEO
and
the
hospital
management
were
squeezing
money
out
of
us.
We
started
looking
for
a
way
to
bring
my
mother
back
to
Kolkata.
Eventually
we
succeeded
by
the
grace
of
God.
We
brought
my
mother
back
by
a
rail
ambulance
service
on
a
full
ICU
and
ventilator
support
to
Kolkata.
We
started
on
26th
October,
reached
Kolkata
on
28th
OCTOBER,
got
my
mom
admitted
in
a
reputed
hospital
under
a
very
compassionate
doctor.
From
that
day
itself
the
hospital
in
Kolkata
started
feeding
her
orally
with
liquid
diet
in
contrast
to
Guru
Nanak
Hospital
where
she
was
kept
for
12
days
only
on
saline
and
clear
water.
On
29
th
October
the
Kolkata
hospital
started
wearing,
on
30
th
October
she
was
tsken
smoothly
out
of
ventilator
and
shifted
to
general
bed,
from
31st
October
they
made
her
walk
and
started
feeding
her
semi
solid
food.
By
Godβ
s
grace
she
is
recovering.
Had
we
no
taken
the
step
to
move
her
out
of
Guru
Nanak
Hospital.,
the
thought
shivers
us,
what
would
have
happened
to
my
mother.
The
ICU
staff
in
Guru
Nanak
Hospital
are
as
much
inefficient
as
much
they
are
rude.
In
my
motherβs
stay
for
14
days
in
the
ICU
of
Guru
Nanak
Hospital
we
had
witnessed
recovery
of
just
one
patient
and
deaths
of
four.
The
two
doctors
who
treated
my
mother
were
polite
on
our
face,
the
only
good
thing
I
can
say
about
Guru
Nanak
Hospital
Bandra
East.
