The food and atmosphere here is awesome. I got the platter for two and then also two additional sides and 4 extra ribs. For two of us it was way too much food! I went there at 5pm and waited in line for 15 minutes to get in, which wasn't bad. When I left around 630pm, the line was getting really long... so I recommend going earlier to avoid the line. Definitely go upstairs to the outdoor area as it's really fun up there! Highly recommend the ribs, they're huge! I also enjoyed the coleslaw and the Mac and Cheese. The BBQ sauce is delicious as well!

This was my first stop after landing in Nashville for the first time. The place and scenery is overall great I expected great things but I was disappointed. I got the big brother combo and was very surprised at what was served to me. First impressions were the dusty ribs that Nashville is known for. Ribs were very dry some parts even were burned. Please see pictures. The cornbread that came looked like a pancake and tasted nothing like a cornbread. Lastly the brisket, it looked great honestly. It passed the pull test and fat seemed to be rendered but the over smoked bitterness was too much. I come from Texas and was very open minded for Nashville BBQ but this spot just didn’t satisfy.

The food was good, now to me and my company that i let try them. We just felt that the dry rub on the ribs was a little to salty for our taste and we believe there are better ribs out there to be found. Broccoli salad and bake beans were a hit. The service was great and the food came out fast. I hope this helps you out and have a great day.

Went to Martin's BBQ for lunch today. It was crowded and loud but they had Tennessee Titans football on because it's Sunday. Mom and I got food and split everything. We had big smokey very meaty spare ribs. They were phenomenal with a rub on them and I added Martin's BBQ sauce. We had very well prepared smokey pulled pork. Great porky goodness. We had incredible baked beans that had a thick sauce. Awesome with the ho cake. A plate of gooey mac & cheese with a crunchy bread crust. Also had very good fries that I splashed with BBQ sauce. We washed everything down with a cold sweet tea. It has a great atmosphere and excellent food. I will go back when in Nashville and highly recommend a visit.

Ribs were really good! Wings we didn't care for; they were seasoned sooo much! Just not our style. Texture and how they were cooked was great though. Smoked turkey was great, so was the pork. We were there at 9pm on Sunday and got the last rack and a half of ribs! Line was out the door but it moved pretty quick. Food was walking out to our table before we even sat down. Mac & cheese, broccoli salad and fries were yummy! Cornbread pancake I'd pass on next time. Great atmosphere upstairs, but it's super loud for sure!

The food was excellent: worth the wait. :) The line feels long but once ordered food arrives fairly quickly. The food is delicious and filled with flavor. The gal taking the order is very efficient and explains the options clearly. Plenty of water in cups readily available. Lots of beverage options including a bar as well. Merchandise on sale as well. The food: we ordered pulled pork with baked beans, chicken sandwich with mac and cheese, and the wings with the BBQ sauce. Everything was fantastic. Flavorful, not salty but delicious with the perfect amount of heat. The pecan pie didn’t even make it to the photos: very, very good! :) The service was polite and very thoughtful at every stage. The bartender stepped out and spoke to line, the ordering was very efficient, the place was bused and cleaned promptly, and the food arrived with plenty of napkins, courtesy and a smile. Don’t hesitate. Visit. Enjoy. You won’t regret it.

The line was out the door when we arrived which definitely signified how great this place is! Ordering was simple and finding seating was a breeze! Our food runner brought our food out right away. My spouse and my mother in law both go the brisket and said it was perfection. I ordered the fried catfish sandwich! Unfortunately, I was given a chicken sandwich instead which meant that I had to wait a bit longer to eat since the food runners had to swap out my food. But once my fish sandwich came out, it was game over! Literally the best food I had during my trip to Nashville.

Decent local BBQ place. The upstairs and downstairs atmospheres are VERY different. By the time we ordered dinner at about 620pm on a Monday evening, they were out of brisket, turkey, beans, and several other items. The table service does not include drink refills - you have to go get your own. Pulled pork was well cooked, but mediocre flavored. Brisket was okay but could have used more smoke flavor. The chicken was well cooked and well flavored! The potato salad was like nothing I've ever had before, and not in a good way. The slices of white bread were hard. The ribs had a good amount of dry rub, but were fatty. In fact, the more of this review that I've written, the more stars I've taken away!

Martin’s BBQ Joint was pretty good bar-B-Que. My only complaint was that the portions seemed a bit on the small side. Both the brisket and pulled pork were tasty and moist; just right flavor wise. Try the Mac and Cheese - it has some crusty rub on top. Upstairs they have the pits and a cool seating and bar area. Would definitely return!

Family members told us we had to stop by here during our trip to Nashville. We stopped for lunch and the food was AMAZING! We had the farmhand fries as an appetizer. They were spicy but not overpowering. I had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac n’ cheese, and my husband had the half rack of ribs with potato salad and a cornbread hoecake. Wow! Service was great and food excellent. We would definitely eat here again!

Our food was so dang good. The ribs and chicken both fell off the bone. Three of us could have shared the full rack of ribs. Mac and cheese was good, nothing special. But the hush puppies were delicious. We all ate everything and had some ribs to take back to the room for later. When we reheated the ribs, still delicious. It was fast too. We walked right up to the cash register at 5:45 and by the time we finished ordering, the line was out the door. Worth waiting for.

Phenomenal. Apparently this is more of a touristy spot? But didn’t seem like a trap considering the food was actually really good and the service was also incredible. Packed place and a live band - and yet the manager still was going around touching tables and asking how you were doing. Actually wasn’t expecting any sort of personal touch like that considering you order at the counter then find your seat. The food was definitely worth it and was fairly priced. The pork was seasoned well and the bbq sauce was great. The fries were a little cold but still good. The slaw was great. Worth the wait in the line!

Great BBQ in Nashville. The brisket was awesome but the portion sizes are small. Mac n Cheese was good. Not sure about the slices of untoasted white bread served with the meat - perhaps to soak up the sauce - would have been better as garlic toast.

Had such a great experience here! The BBQ was awesome and we were seated fairly quickly since we sat at the bar. After dinner we went upstairs and listened to a live band. Overall the restaurant was decorated so nicely it really had such a great atmosphere. My friends had the BBQ plate and I had the red neck taco. Overall you must come and try this restaurant!! Such awesome BBQ, the best we’ve had in Nashville! The beers and drinks were also reasonably priced so win win!

Was very excited to have the ribs and fried cornbread after trying them out in Birmingham 3 years ago. However, it turned out DRY AND HARD and not fall off the bones tender as before. After speaking to Jesse, the manager, next day, he made good by letting us retry those ribs (in pictures) again, promising them to be up to my expectations. YES! They were more tender and juicy. A world of difference from previous night offering!! It was awesome to have such a positive and attentive manager. Kudos to Jesse. Thanks!

This place was great! The staff was friendly, the establishment was bustling with a mixture of locals & tourists, yet still clean in the dining & restroom areas. The food was soooo good & incredibly seasoned to perfection. I’m from TX & I think I prefer Nashville BBQ after this experience. We got ribs, brisket, mac n cheese & slaw…all were so flavorful & exceeded expectations. One thing I’ll note is the “BBQ sauce” at the tables is quite watered down/runny, but at least when used in addition to the legitimate, thicker BBQ sauce that comes WITH your meal, it’s still pretty great tasting & somewhat of a moisturizing agent for the food. Would for sure visit again!

The lock on the door in the women’s restroom is sharp! It took a chunk of my skin off my finger 🤢 be careful unlocking the stalls. I didn’t care much for the mac n cheese and coleslaw. Pulled pork sandwich was yummy. Seating was available once we placed the order. Brisket and hoecake were good. Peach soda was good. My husband really enjoyed the mac n cheese.

Best BBQ in Nashville. Tender and juicy brisket and dry rub ribs. Their in house vinegar sauce is tops. Get the Big Brother sampler (ribs + brisket + 2 sides) - good enough to share for 2.

Wow. The BBQ here is the best. I ordered the big brother sampler. (Highly recommend) it comes with ribs briskets and 2 sides. The coleslaw here is a must try if you like coleslaw. Other than the customer service is top notch and the flavors were great. Cleaned out my plate.

Delicious BBQ place downtown Nashville. Place was hopping on the weekend but we got right in. The farmhand fries are big and good enough to be a meal. Brisket burger was on point. I will definitely be getting ribs next when I go back. (I will go back). The inside upstairs is awesome because it feels like you are sitting outside. They have live music, dart boards, ping pong, private room.

My husband and I wanted to stop by to grab some lunch before exploring downtown Nashville. Everyone we ran into recommended we try Martin’s BBQ. My husband and I are driving cross country and are always down to try some good food. The line was long but moved fairly quick. There was only one cashier- you order so make sure to look at the menu while you wait. Once you order they give you a number and you take a seat and a server will come out to bring your food. You grab your own water and they give you your choice of drink up front by the cashier. Alcohol is sold- you can walk up to the bar and order your drink before finding your seat. I noticed that people would go straight to the bar just to order some drinks. The food was hands down the best BBQ we have ever tried. I highly recommend this BBQ joint to anyone. We ordered smoked chicken and big brother sampler.

Great spot for Barbecue in Nashville. We arrived right at 11 when they opened, and there was a short line to get in. You don't get seated like a traditional restaurant. You order your food at the front, and they give you a number to display at your table. A server will then bring your food to your table. We ordered the Kid Brother Sampler and changed the brisket for turkey and another order of brisket tacos. The food was brought out to our table quickly and was perfect. The table had a bottle of Martin's traditional barbecue sauce, which was very good. If you have a taste for something with a little more heat, ask for the devils nectar sauce. They smoke the meat on the second floor. I highly recommend stopping by the second floor to get a smell of the barbeque. There is a good amount of seating on the first floor with a few bars to get drinks. There is also a large second floor beer garden style area where you will find more seating and bars. There are many game areas on the second floor with shuffleboard, ping ping, and darts. They also have a unique section with old car seats to sit on. If you are looking for a great BBQ spot in Nashville, you will not be disappointed if you go to Martin's

First time visit and we were pleased with the dishes. The restaurant was clean and a great ambiance. The brisket was tender, had a great bark, and definitely passed the pull test. The chicken was dry and was the least liked on the table. The pulled pork nachos were as expected and the slaw dressing added a unique flavor to the overall dish. The dry rub Ribs were tender and delicious. The potato salad left something to be desired. Looks deceived us on them. They were just bland. The Mac and cheese had splitting of opinions throughout our table. Most enjoyed. They did have a slight gritty sauce to them. The location was an easy walk from Broadway. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience and would recommend to others.

Friendly staff, live music, great BBQ, good drinks, pub games and quick service. Nothing more i could ask for on a Nashville trip. A local told me Martin’s has a great selection of BBQ so we stopped by on our Nashville weekend trip and we were not disappointed. The staff were kind enough to show us the process on how the pork was made. The drinks were decent and the pub games were fun. The live music that night was country and added to the old warehouse BBQ Nashville atmosphere. Felt very authentic and I will be back.

Martin's has dine in and take out options. There are large picnic tables available for dining in (there is also a bar area and smaller tables) I opted to seat at a larger table although I was alone. Halfway through my meal 5 guys asked if they could sit with me. It ended up being a very entertaining experience. The food was good. Brisket and ribs were seasoned well and super tender. The baked beans were delicious as well. Now if I'm being honest the Mac and cheese wasn't my speed, but 4 out of the 5 gents who sat at my table thought it was delicious. So overall my experience at Martin's was great. I enjoyed good food and made a few 5 min friends.

Came to this lively BBQ restaurant on 4th Street South just a few steps from Peabody Street, on a Saturday night for dinner. When you enter the restaurant, you will queue up in the ordering area, which doubles as the gift shop, to place your order. You receive a small metal sign holder with a number on it, and go sit wherever you like on the first or second floors, until the servers bring your food to you. Very spacious area on the first floor with lots of tables, chairs, and a bar area...but you'll be even more surprised at the amount of space on the second floor, which includes a stage for a live band, games area with ping-pong table, and even more seats/tables. The food is very good and delicious - we had the Big Brother Sampler, which comes with 4 bones of big and meaty ribs, a few slices of brisket, three slices of Texas Toast, and two sides (we had fries and broccoli salad). Added six smoked chicken wings as well - very tender and very nicely done! Friendly and helpful staff, and great atmosphere befitting a BBQ restaurant. Highly recommended!

Cool spot. There are 2 entrances. The new one has more kiosks to move the line faster. Food was decent. Not many side options but better than I have seen. Prices were high. Venue was large. Plenty of games, darts, ping-pong etc. Probably a fun place to eat at night and take advantage of full bars.

  • 4/5 Laurel C. 6 months ago on Google
Large venue. Ordered in line near the front door. Menu is posted and they handed me one while waiting (10 minutes) in line. I wanted to try both the sausage and Brisket. I could do that with a Junior Platter for $30. I also chose green beans and hush puppies. Overall good. I preferred the brisket over the sausage. Sausage was a bit chewy and did not have a deep flavor? I could have easily shared the platter. The BBQ sauce was pretty good.

This place was almost overwhelming busy when we got there but the service was great. Plenty of staff at the bar and walking around picking up trash and cleaning tables. Also, it's huge. Plenty of places to sit. Really cool outside area as well. They have a pretty large craft beer selection and 3 bars to choose from. Walk up service was quick everytime. I got the brisket sandwich and potato salad. Very good brisket and potato salad. Prices were good for downtown Nashville standards.

Delicious BBQ and some unique dishes make this a spot to check out for anyone that likes barbeque. Try and get here early, because the line gets long and they run out of food! We waited about 30 minutes in line in a Monday evening and they were already out of multiple items my 5:30. But it's still worth it, the brisket was delicious, the broccoli salad was a surprisingly tasty side and their vinegar-based sauce is one of the best I've ever had. Despite the long line, there is ample seating once you get inside, but getting here early is definitely key to making this a good experience.

  • 5/5 Michael H. 2 years ago on Google
The line to get in and place your order might be long, but it is well worth the wait. The line went outside down the street was only about a twenty minute wait. The food was phenomenal. The best BBQ brisket and chicken we have ever experienced.

Great stories were shared with us about this place so we decided to get our last full meal in Nashville from them. It gave a typical casual Nashville pub vibe. They offer entertainment activities for guests to enjoy. Unfortunately, the ribs that we were served were unbelievably tough, dry and some areas were burnt. Their baked beans and broccoli salad were very flavorful though.

You can smell it before you actually see it and that says something. Absolutely amazing food. The dry rubbed ribs with the vinegar based sauce at the table were amazing. The brisket tacos were the surprise of the day. Delicious!

I had a very good meal at Martin’s BBQ Joint. I really enjoyed the little gift shop as soon as you walk in as you wait in line to order. Even though I got a half rack of ribs I would recommend getting either of the taco trays, they were to die for. The mac n cheese was the best thing I ate. It is worth getting two sides of it, if you are a mac n cheese lover like me. I thought the cornbread wasn’t anything special, they can do better than that.I loved the atmosphere the restaurant had. There are so many different spots to sit that offer a lot of different experiences. If you want to sit at a bar you can but if you want to sit away from the TV’s and the noise, there are a lot of tables spread out throughout the “Joint”. They also have an outside area with a stage and green picnic tables that I would like to sit there to eat some time. I was really impressed with how fast our food came out even though we had a party of nine. They really know how to get people in and out. Which is nice because there is so much to experience in Nashville.

  • 2/5 Brian G. 2 years ago on Google
We had the pork shoulder and dark chicken. The pork shoulder had no flavor and slightly dry. The chicken was beautiful done. The baked beans were the star along with the potato salad. Overall good place just need to know what to order. However I am sure their are better options. This one is located downtown so it is convenient for everyone.

My brother and I went to Nashville for the day and were looking for some good BBQ. I quite literally looked up “best rated BBQ in Nashville” and this place was a consistent answer - for good reason. Firstly, the service is astonishingly quick. You have the option to order at the counter snd have them bring it to you, or sit at one of their many bars and order and eat straight there. We decided to order at the counter and the cashiers were quick and helpful. We waited for less than 10 minutes for our food and both dishes came out amazing! He got the brisket burger and I got the sliced brisket sandwich. For sides, we each got mac n cheese, he got fries, and I got broccoli salad. Everything was phenomenal. The type of good that you kinda roll your eyes back and sink down into your chair good. The atmosphere was also nice! Very BBQ joint-y with the walls covered in beer signs, license plates, sports photos, and other pop culture stuff. Great place to eat all around. I’ll definitely be coming here again.
