The only good thing about this place is the location and how the building looks. It has 6 floors, and the higher the better the view of the city. Not too expensive but food and service were average. They charge fee for being in downtown and another fee that is not a tip.

Nice location. Food service is interesting as you seat yourself. Very packed but only place I could find downtown where we could eat. You have to be flexible on seating and menu for kids not great but doable. I believe menus are different on some floors (Oysters only available on 6th floor). Not my favorite place but really liked we could get seated fast and eat relatively quickly. Our food was alright and I enjoyed it.

Visiting this joint presented an intriguingly diverse concept, catering to a range of preferences and budgets. On the ground floor, you can revel in the ambiance of a classic Southern diner, and for those desiring a more sumptuous experience, the upper floor offers a lavish dining setting, complemented by breathtaking views of the city. We found the service to be swift, friendly, and the food, particularly the Nashville hot chicken, was of excellent quality and arrived promptly. My only slight qualm was the overly zealous air conditioning, which might be a tad excessive for some, though this is, of course, subjective.

Had breakfast on the top floor with the wife. I got the Diner Scrambler and the wife got the Chicken n Waffles. Mine was pretty standard, but the wife's was awesome. The chicken was plump and had the right amount of zing. The waffle melts in your mouth. And the view is pretty cool too 😎

Fun place. 6 story diner with breakfast/brunch, lunch and dinner, full bar, milkshakes, etc. We ate brunch on the top floor bar overlooking the city with great views. Nice menu with some diner basics and even sushi and oysters. Had the hot chicken and waffles and the oysters. Both were very good. Good cocktails also. Place was busy but we didn't have to wait long. We had our 2 teenagers with us and they liked it too.

This place is so nice. We aren’t from the area. We were looking where to eat. This place did not disappoint me. The food was amazing. The views that this restaurant has so amazing. I will come back when I go back to this area. The blue cheese they gave with the wings. It is probably one of my top five favorite blue cheese.

Our waitress, Sarah was so awesome and did an amazing job. She made our visit worth it by a lot. The downside to this place is their food, unfortunately. We came here for sushi and Oysters, the two things they are known for. It was for sure the worst sushi over ever tasted. It was dry, and completely lacked any flavor. The Oysters had a funny smell to them…

I was surprised and hugely disappointed having breakfast at The Diner downtown. Location is fantastic and the vibe is also awesome. What’s horribly disappointing is the food. The breakfast menu is limited, and what is on the menu is so basic, with absolutely no character or creativity of any kind. I would say the diner has nothing I would call “signature“ for breakfast. Prices are slightly above where they should be for just mediocre food. As an example the home fries with breakfast were basically those cheap nuggets that you see from the Walmart frozen food section. Service was average but I understand during the pandemic it’s hard staffing up, for me the poor impression is strictly on the food being something that even I could make (I am terrible in the kitchen lol) So if you have company or are looking for a great brunch that you will enjoy, there are so many awesome Nashville choices, stay away from The Diner. this is my impression of breakfast I have no idea what lunch or dinner would be like. I have also included dessert pictures from the showcase when you first walk in. such an incredible location and so close to so many great hotels, if the owner of this establishment doesn’t want to make it a great destination brunch spot- they should sell it to someone who will. 👎🏼

Good food. Great customer service. Awesome view. Alcohol available if you want. Very reasonable price. Located one block from the Country Music Hall of Fame.

During a recent trip to Nashville, Tennessee, we decided to try The Diner, and I’m so glad we did! The shrimp and grits were delicious, nice flavor with a little bit of kick. I was disappointed in the portion size for $24. The charming ambiance and fun decor give the place a good vibe. The service was prompt and friendly.

The diner looks good from outside. However, I ordered a Avocado Sourdough. But it turned out just normal white and cold bread. Any restaurant could be better than this one.

The food and cocktails were perfect. This is a great lunch spot. Unfortunately our waitress had an attitude and acted like anything we asked for was an inconvenience. We would come back for the delicious food and drinks though!

Always a seat available on one of the 5 floors. Fast, diner fare with good service. Average cheeseburger and fries. Hit Nashville Chicken salad is a good deal and tasty. Shrimp and grits is variable- but good tonight. Sometimes it’s dry. Gumbo has a nice spice. Smashed potatoes are 70% instant with a lil’ real. Not worth it. Cheesecake and Carrot cake are well worth it. 7-layer bar sat around so was a bit rough. Cappuccino spot on.

Felt like we were eating at a chain restaurant. The food was good not great. Nothing about the food really stood out but was brought ouht literally within 5 minutes of ordering. Super fast. The coffee and espresso drinks were good. The Hunny Bunny and Bees Knees would beat any Stabucks latte. The Birthday shake was too thick for the small straws that kept breaking but a spoon worked just fine. It tasted good as well. Our waiter was awesome but the hostess was rude to the point we almost left. There is some view from the 6th floor as shown in one of my review pics. I would try again

I’m rating this 4 stars based on my overall experience of coming to this restaurant. I’ve come here many times and I’ve enjoyed it every time. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was nice as usual. This past weekend I went and didn’t enjoy the food or the service as much as I normally do. I don’t want to give an unfair rating based on one bad experience. The server was lackluster on the attentiveness, they didn’t bring the drink I ordered (orange juice) the hostess brought waters right away. The order wasn’t how I asked (I asked for no peppers and they were in the sandwich). The server never checked on our table until they saw we wanted the check, the restaurant wasn’t busy at that time and we could see that they were either socializing or on the floor but just not busy. I ordered the Nashville cheesesteak, the fries were great, super flavorful and crunchy. The sandwich itself was a let down. It had way too much cheese sauce that made the bread soggy and fall apart, the actual meat wasn’t that hot as one would imagine it should be. That one experience won’t keep me from going back because I know the food is excellent and have had great service the other times I’ve been. I love the breakfast options, I highly recommend the chicken and waffles!

this has been my favorite 24 hour restaurant for years. Until covid came and the restaurant had to change their hours. the place offers a number of menu items as there are multiple floors that have multiple options. i have ordered many things here and all are pretty tasty :) my favorite thing to order is definitely their milkshakes

Such a fun place to enjoy dinner and have a great indoor/outdoor experience and see the bustling city from the balcony. Best chicken I've ever had. I am from Central Illinois, so take that into consideration about my experience with chicken lol. This stuff was really good chicken though!!!

Amazing experience! The idea of a 6 floored restaurant is insane to my small town mind. The food was amazing and the prices were pretty good for what we got. I got the spicy chicken and waffles, and it did not disappoint. The sweet tea is nice and sweet and my wife loved her milkshake. The service was impeccable and the waitress had a wonderful attitude.

Pretty nice place and great food. Simple but enjoyable. The salads are filling. The Hot Chicken Wraps are truly hot and tasty. We were on the ground floor and it was a nice view, good decor inside and quick service. Washrooms are clean and we'll maintained. Cocktails are nice and strong. Highly recommend.

The hot chicken was good nice to try. The other food was ok . The service was not the best to be honest for it not being busy. So for our crew not a spot that was great.

I stopped in for a soda an ended up with a fantastic caramel shake. The server was very kind and seemed to enjoy our conversation. She was from Tenn and wanted to go to the beach 🏖️ in Fl. Fortunately someplace I knew something about. Very nice place and people. I understand the food is really good upstairs. But at least you know that the shakes are worth the visit. Enjoy 😊

A lot of choices for food in the area but the menu definitely got my attention. The shrimp and grits were very good! Hot chicken sushi was good too and you just can't go wrong with the boom boom shrimp! Go to the 6th floor! Great views and atmosphere. Great conversation with the bartenders as well. When I'm in the area again, I will be back!

If you want a place to get a quick and fairly reasonably priced meal, this is the place. varied menu. Cocktails and beer. The sandwiches are the way to go. Solid and good portions. I like the big windows especially on a nice day. Overall, great experience depending on what you’re looking for.

Parking is tricky around here. We ended up paying $40 for 1 hour. Very hard to find a spot if you are only coming to the restaurant and not exploring the area. This place has multiple floors and is very nicely decorated. Our sever was friendly and kind. They were busy but still had open tables. Food was very fresh and delicious but the portions very small for the price you are paying. It felt like a classy place.

It was ok. Pretty average food. My sandwich was a bit bland. Interesting concept, but it really wasn't a Diner up where you can order food. Maybe stay on level one and get a milkshake instead. That looked a lot more diner like.

I didn't have too high expectations about the food based off reviews I read. Let's say others were right to me. I really couldn't believe that people ate there. Maybe they know what to order. I don't know. The good: the location and views. I was really pleased with the views. I went late evening, so seeing the nightlife right outside the large windows was beautiful. The bad: the food and service. The food literally tasted like frozen foods heated up in the microwave. In fact, a dinner companion of mine really believed she was eating something out of the frozen department of a famous warehouse store. She literally decided to complete her first review online as a result. That says a lot for her to do an online review. Additionally, the temperature of the food wasn't good. For the price you pay, I just sucked it up to paying for the view. I really think this place has great potential, but they need to revamp the menu and quality of food. Additionally, the service was pretty much non-existent, I wasn't too sure why we were sat in the back with plenty tables open, and what the customer convenience fee was.

Stopped in after visiting The Johnny Cash museum. 6 level diner and bar with a splendid view. We enjoyed the open air experience looking out onto the strip. The service was spot on and the food was really good. We ordered the seafood boil and a dozen Blue Point oysters which were really good! We would go back if we were in town again.

First time here and absolutely loved it. The food was amazing. I had the beer cheese (cheese steak sandwich). Yumz We watched the NFL games while hanging out. Very friendly servers. Highly recommend

This restaurant is 6 levels & each level has a different cuisine. You would never know it unless someone told you. It was amazing & so unique. I would definitely suggest eating here. The staff were amazing & helpful.

The location is definitely worth the stop. You get to ride the elevator up to certain sections. That being said the food is horrible and looks better than it taste. The chicken and waffles was terrible. The chicken was missing breading more like a chicken tender than a crispy one. Food came out cold. Would only recommend for the location and venue I would avoid the food at all cost.

Great location with a great view. The food was good and sizable portions. Our server seemed like she had MUCH better things to do. There were a couple of things that turned us off. I wont be back nor do I recommend. Nashville has a million and 1 other places to go.

This is my husband and I favorite spot to go to. Every time we go, the staff is always friendly and the food and cocktails are very very good. I love that this restaurant has multiple floors that you can be sitting at, so room is no issue at all if the restaurant is too packed and full. The cocktails and meals are not too overly priced. We love The Diner Nashville!

This is a charming diner in the heart of Nashville. The prices were a little high and the breakfast menu is very limited. The food was delicious though. If you want to eat and enjoy the view of the city I would recommend it. If you want more food options and a kid friendly menu I'd go somewhere else.

  • 5/5 Amanda Y. 2 years ago on Google
We had breakfast on the 4th floor on the last day of our visit here in Nashville. Our meals came out fast and the service was outstanding! Ask for extra spicy if you get the hot chicken and waffles! I felt like the hot option wasn't hot enough.

  • 4/5 Tracy C. 2 years ago on Google
GREAT view from the 6th floor! Wish we had been given a sushi menu. Didn't know it was an option until we saw someone else receive his. Smallish menu- not like a quick diner at all. Now that I think about it, there might be different menus for the different floors? I guess we looked like regulars that didn't need any inside info. Food was delicious, and service was friendly.
