I
don't
usually
take
the
time
to
comment
on
hotel
experiences,
but
my
recent
stay
at
the
Renaissance
Hotel
in
Nashville
has
compelled
me
to
change
that
habit.
As
someone
who
has
had
positive
experiences
with
European
branches
of
Renaissance
Hotels,
I
was
looking
forward
to
a
similarly
comfortable
stay
in
Nashville,
especially
since
the
event
we
attended
was
held
in
the
same
building.
We
even
opted
for
a
two-bedroom
despite
only
needing
one
bed,
as
it
was
the
only
available
option.
Unfortunately,
this
stay
did
not
meet
the
standard
we'd
expected.
Our
room
had
a
carpet
in
dire
need
of
cleaning,
featured
plastic
cups
instead
of
glassware,
and
even
had
a
coffee
machine
devoid
of
coffee.
The
ice
machine
in
the
hallway
was
also
noisily
intrusive,
affecting
our
sleep
quality.
There
were
also
lapses
in
housekeeping
services
–
twice
plastic
cups
were
taken
away
without
being
replaced,
and
we
ran
out
of
paper
tissues
three
days
before
our
departure,
an
issue
that
was
never
addressed.
The
windows
in
our
room
were
noticeably
dirty
compared
to
those
facing
Commerce
Street
in
our
colleagues'
rooms.
Additionally,
the
separate
$9-per-day
charge
for
Internet
service
felt
out
of
touch
in
today's
world,
where
Internet
access
is
almost
universally
regarded
as
a
basic
amenity.
All
of
these
minor
issues
compounded
into
a
significantly
dissatisfying
overall
experience,
one
we
certainly
did
not
anticipate
from
a
Renaissance
Hotel.
