I
was
held
against
my
will
for
45
minutes
by
the
parking
garage
customer
service
AFTER
I
paid.
I
parked
in
the
open
lot
to
the
side
of
the
garage.
When
I
went
to
exit,
the
self
checkout
machine
wouldn't
take
my
debit
card.
I
also
tried
swiping
my
credit
card
to
no
avail.
I
pressed
the
service
button.
I
recording
stated
that
if
I
were
to
get
disconnected
that
I
should
press
the
button
again.
It
rang
and
a
woman
answered.
I
explained
that
the
machine
wouldn't
register
my
cards.
She
suggested
that
I,
instead
of
swiping
my
card
in
the
designated
card
swiper,
insert
it
into
the
parking
ticket
slot.
This
seemed
strange
to
me
so
I
repeated
it
back
to
her
to
make
sure
I
understood.
She
confirmed
and
hung
up.
I
did
as
she
said
and
put
my
credit
card
into
the
slot.
The
machine
then
printed
a
receipt
and
the
gate
opened
but
my
credit
card
was
never
returned.
I
paged
customer
service
again
and
told
the
woman
my
card
was
stuck.
She
doesn't
respond.
I
ask
how
I
can
get
it
out.
She
said
she
doesn't
know.
The
call
is
dropped.
I
page
again
and
ask
if
the
is
an
attendant
on
site.
I'm
told
there's
not.
The
call
is
imediently
dropped
again.
I
page
again
and
ask
what's
going
to
happen
to
my
card.
As
soon
as
I'm
done
speaking
I
hear
the
click
of
the
call
being
dropped.
I
call
again
and
tell
them
I
have
to
have
my
card
as
I
am
immediately
leaving
on
a
7
hour
drive
to
Virginia.
The
woman
now
tells
me
that
the
next
on
site
attendant
will
be
there
the
next
day
at
9am.
She
gets
snarky
and
I
said,
"this
is
f***ing
ridiculous."
I
am
immediately
disconnected
and
the
gate
in
front
of
me
closes.
Given
that
this
whole
ordeal
has
been
going
on
for
at
least
10
minutes,
it
was
no
coincidence
the
gate
closed
at
that
time.
I
call
back
and
tell
her
the
gate
is
closed.
She
says
she'll
get
back
to
me.
I
wait
a
few
minutes,
call
back
and
tell
her
the
gate
is
still
closed.
She
says
she'll
get
back
to
me.
I
call
back
a
few
minutes
later
and
ask
if
the
call
button
I'm
using
is
both
ingoing
and
outgoing.
I'm
told
it's
only
outgoing.
I
ask
how
she's
supposed
to
get
back
to
me
then.
I
hear
a
click
right
after.
I
call
back
a
few
minutes
later
and
tell
her
I'm
still
stuck.
No
response
and
then
click.
At
this
point,
I've
been
speaking
to
two
different
people
I
believe.
It
was
hard
to
tell
over
the
speaker.
I
google
the
customer
service
number
for
LAZ
parking
and
dial
it
only
to
reach
the
same
line
the
machine
has
been
calling.
I
give
them
my
call
back
number.
I
call
on
the
machine
a
few
minutes
later
to
say
that
I'm
still
stuck
and
ask
how
soon
they're
going
to
let
me
out.
The
woman
responds
that
she
"can't
answer
that"
and
hangs
up.
I
call
back
and
say
"so
you're
telling
me
I'm
stuck
here?"
She
snaps
"ma'am
ma'am
I
didn't
say
that."
Click.
I'm
calling
every
five
minutes
at
this
point.
I'm
asked
if
I
tried
calling
from
the
entryway
customer
service
button.
I
get
out
of
my
car
and
page
from
that
button
only
to
be
connected
to
the
same
person.
I
go
back
to
my
car
and
page
from
the
original
machine
I
was
using.
It's
been
over
30
minutes
and
I've
called
the
police.
By
this
time
no
one
is
even
responding
to
me
when
I
press
the
button.
At
about
45
minutes
into
the
ordeal,
a
man
answers
this
time.
He
says
in
surprise,
"You're
still
in
there?"
and
says
he'll
try
opening
it.
Imediently
the
gate
opens.
I
pulled
out
and
onto
the
side
of
the
road
to
cancel
my
credit
card
as
the
whole
thing
was
beyond
suspicious.
This
was
one
of
the
most
unnerving
experiences
of
my
life.
Downtown
Nashville
is
not
a
place
I
was
to
be
out
at
night.
