A lovely place with birds singing, ponds and lush tropical vegetation, and happily though I visited during monsoon season, no mosquitos to speak of. The only drawback, as I was on a business journey, was lack of useable wifi. The lodge is very near a lovely natural preserve for some light hiking around waterfalls and swimming holes.

Dogs 🐕 everywhere. Stray dog problem. This has been a go to resort for visits to Suva, but no longer. To see dogs freely wandering through the resort, sitting on tables and chairs, scratching their fleas everywhere is disgusting.

Business trip to Fiji working from Suva , work selected Rainforest Eco due to reasonably priced rooms . Having stayed in budget accommodation, wasn't expecting anything amazing , and oh boy was I not disappointed. 1: rooms simple with either single or double bed with mattresses possibly purchased in 1983 Enjoy sleeping with a spring in your back . 2 : Eco prides itself on the environment LOL, Showers need heads replaced as more water is wasted via the split pipe than actually comes out the shower head 3: cleanliness , though the rooms are cleaned sheets have bed bugs and smell , bathrooms and basins are cleaned with the same mop Yuk 4: restaurant I enjoy my fish thawed on a dirty kitchen floor ,coffee machine stopped working yet was still charged $7 for instant coffee enough said . 5:Fiji has a massive stray dog problem, with that said kicking and abusing these animals in front of your patrons is the standard at Eco I could go on With that our company will no longer utilise the establishment

It’s a cheap and good place to getaway from the noisy Suva City but the downside to it is the bure does need a touch up and a face lift also the food can be ridiculously expensive - a can of coke for $5 is insane and the breakfast they offer for $18 has only 3 babakau(pancakes) and a little bowl of fruit salad with butter and jam on the side is also ridiculous, it doesn’t even come with a cup of tea or coffee you’ll have to buy that separately for another $5 and this is for the local Royal tea brand.

Massive disappointment and regret. There is nothing “eco” about this place and it’s misleading to use it as a name.I’m not expecting luxury at a budget establishment, but I’m not expecting a run down place with garbage. The place is claustrophobic, the room was smelled musty, the bed felt dirty, the fan only worked on one speed (low) and looked like it would fall off any minute. There were artificial air fresheners in the room giving off an unpleasant smell on top of the dank odour. There was a trash burn site near the pool with something that looked like a used nappy and decrepit facilities crumbling near the pool area (see photos). Staff use a very loud blower to clear the paths with a horrible engine sound, some male staff were over friendly and nosy. It was an unpleasant and stressful stay. Stray dogs roamed around- that’s not the place’s fault, it just made it more unpleasant. One positive: the restaurant had a lovely view over the lake.

I stayed at the rainforest lodge for 5 nights in their budget accommodation. I can tell you that it is simple, clean and comfortable. Why this place doesn’t have a higher rating is beyond me. I had a tidy twin room in their backpacker style accommodation which has a shared bathroom (cleaned twice a day as far as I could tell) and a simple kitchen to use (note no tea or coffee provisions). My room had a small fridge so I could keep my food and water cool without risking someone else eating it!. My room had two plugs available, but no tv which I liked. The internet really does work well in my room and everywhere in the lodge areas which was a big surprise. Usually connection is a bit hit and miss. This made working remotely much easier! The establishment bar and restaurant had a really nice outlook over a lake (which is an old mine now filled with water I was told). The food is good compared to other food I’ve had elsewhere. The curries are especially good. I saw some good steaks being served too. Presentation is nice and you can see effort has been put in. The staff are really lovely and made me feel at home (I’m a female travelling for work on my own so this was nice for me). The birds and bats can be heard at night and wake you up in the morning because you really are in the forest. It’s quiet and dark at night. I will be coming back here when I’m back in Suva to stay. It’s the best accommodation in Suva in my opinion.

Went to the restaurant twice. Nice spot to sit at the lake and watch the sunset. The food was okay, the pizza dough was a little to thick and tasted very yeasty. I really hated to see staff throwing lots of food leftovers into the lake feeding the fish. Not appropriate for an "Eco-lodge".

Bus to Suva stops right outside. The area is nice and quiet. Budget rooms are fairly noisy. There is a nice pool where you can sit and relax.

Rainforest Eco Lodge is just opposite the Colo-i-Suva. The bus stop is just outside. The lodge is like a bure (traditional Fijian house). There is a bar, restaurant and coffee place. Toilet facilities are clean. Customer service was great. Parking can be challenging with a limited car park. There is also paid accommodation available. We went to have lunch and coffee after walking the colo I Suva rainforest. I enjoyed this place. Very peaceful place.

I had the most incredible experience at the Rain Tree Lodge and dining at The Establishment. The lodge's lush surroundings and cozy atmosphere provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff's warm and welcoming hospitality made me feel like a valued guest from the moment I arrived. Now, let me talk about The Establishment - an absolute culinary gem! The restaurant's menu is a testament to the chef's creativity and dedication to using local, fresh ingredients. Each dish was a work of art, both in presentation and taste. From the appetizers to the desserts, every bite was a delightful journey for the taste buds. The service at The Establishment was equally exceptional. The attentive and knowledgeable staff made excellent recommendations, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection. The Rain Tree Lodge and The Establishment are a winning combination, offering a truly memorable stay and dining experience. I can't recommend it enough, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable visit.

Good for visiting the rainforest. Nice relaxing location with the small lake. The restaurant and rooms that overlook the lake give a nice ambiance.

I enjoyed staying at the Lodge. It's in the Colo-I-Suva Park so everything. That said I was expecting more insects, creatures and things (we visited in May) but the Bures are well -protected if this isn't so much your thing. We stayed the 1 night/1 day and the accommodation was perfectly serviceable, and being an eco lodge it is without the bells and whistles but it's what make it. Unsurprisingly the staff are always lovely. We ate dinner in the restaurant which looks out on the lake, and had the buffet breakfast which included a few Fijian faves I was pleased to see (and eat!). Expect the odd power outage (never lasted for long) and go with it. Avoid arriving after dark. Lights are low in the lodge so visibility can be tricky.

We were in Bure 2, woke up with zillions of bites, looked up the bugs we found on the bed and found they were bed bugs! That room needs serious fumigation!

Great place to visit for a drink and food after an excursion to the nearby colo-i- suva forest park, which is just around the corner. Nice atmosphere to relax in with outdoor and indoor seating.

The place needs major upgrade, very dirty and filthy(insects crawling on the floor), no hot water. Pied-a-terre studio $99.00 surely not worth it, suva motels are better than that.

The area was nice, feels like a jungle but the room needs to be cleaned promptly, our shower was missing a shower curtain, there were spider webs in the walls and ceiling. aircon was missing its remote, walkway was weak and feel like it’s going to break soon.

The best part about staying here is having coffee in the mornings in the perfect natural setting of Fiji’s rainforest. Local parrot and other tropical bird sightings are common.

Pretty nice stopover in the forest national park. Great coconut latte, highly recommend. Sadly there was trash in the lake which detracted from the eco ambiance. Service was good. Prices ok.

Certainly a great location for walks and swims in the Rainforest. The communal areas such a the restaurant and bar are stunning and the meals were flavourful and incredibly well presented. There was no running water when we returned from a humid walk, when we were keen to freshen up for dinner. The managed to get it working that evening, but only cold and not more than a trickle. We stayed in the $55 room with shared bathroom which was perfect for our needs. The shared bathrooms could do with meeting a power hose, scrubbing brush and a bucket of waterproof paint, but like all they are just coming out of COVID.

The location is lovely but the eco-lodge itself is very, very basic. Rooms would definitely use some extra care and having hot water showers would improve the experience. The service was very friendly but despite booking far in advance, we've been given a room with two single rooms instead of one double as per our reservation. A bit disappointing.

The most serene and relaxing place to stay. We had just come from Nadi so the cool breeze was very welcome. The staff are AMAZING, they really made our stay 11/10. The restaurant has been renovated recently and only open for 2 weeks… but you would never have known!! We thought it was well established. Staff are very professional but also so kind and love to have fun and laugh with guests. The rooms were small and the sheets a little old but we didn’t mind as we got such cheap rates. Will be sending all my Aussie friends here purely because we just love to staff so much! 100% recommend especially for backpackers/ young travellers such as ourselves.

A relaxing place where you can take your time and enjoy the rainforest. We have stayed in Bure option, definitely recommend it. Room option is more budget friendly. There is no supermarket around, so come prepared. They have a restaurant, which is a little more expensive than the rest of the city, but you do not have another option for food unless you bring your own.
