This was on my way home from an appointment I had so I decided to stop and check it out (I have a metal detector with me at all times for when I get an opportunity and the urge strikes). It's a very nice Park. Quiet and peaceful. Decent playground yet small if you have little ones. There was only a small sandy area so wouldn't recommend for detecting but I'm sure that's not what most of you are doing! Lots of grassy area. Perfect place for a picnic.

This park could be a 5 if it wasn't for a sad playground and nasty restrooms. The playground equipment is simple and unimaginative. The wood chips and sand are so hard they might as well be dirt. Otherwise there are basketball & tennis courts, horseshoe pits, plenty of picnic tables, and lots of grass with a perimeter walking path. Plenty of free parking and located away from any busy roads.

Spacious park with walking paths, tennis courts, basketball courts, tables, benches, shade trees and a young children's playground. Such a nice beautiful park with people enjoying their time there.

Definitely could use some attention around the playground. Bathroom buildings and light poles. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

Park is great, however the bathrooms are disgusting, they don't lock if it's open, and only 1 was. We live within walking distance so it helps. Wish it would be better maintained due to some of the homelessness there.

Its one of the best parks, plenty of parking, so many activities to do, many people bring their pets, my kids make new friends at the playground all the time and the grass is comfortable to sit on. It is the best place to ride scooters, bikes, skate boards and for flying kites. Great place for a picnic, and many people in the community get together and play basketball and sometimes tennis. It would be nice for them to remodel the playground, but the kids love it reguardless. :)

The park is in a sad state and in need of clean-up, maintenance and repair. Used face masks all over the place posing a health risk to children. Bathrooms are unsanitary to say the least. The City Council needs to take appropriate measures and fast to avoid further damage. There were several families trying to enjoy some together time, most of them in the only clean area. With some care, El Toyon Park can go back to being a place of proudness for National City.

It's real nice place in the day and in the afternoon.. it's open to parking space almost on all 4 sides of it.

If only they had some place to plug in, there No outlets at all at this park. Hopefully they will put some in soon.

This place was great until they added some bungalows right across the park where people could go thru to the football field . Now you have to go around which is real inconvenience.

The unsafest park I been too. My daughter almost cracked her head open sliding down that slide, the swings are really high it’s hard for kids to get on by themselves. The bars get really hot during the summer kids get there hands burned. The city needs to do something about this!

Needs a major update. How about rubber ground cover instead of those scarce woodchips n the ground l. More police presence. Thank goodness for the city workmanship, who keeps it up

I Had a visit with my son there twice now and I like how quiet it was, considering how the hospital paradise valley is across the street from the park.

Nice park, two bad things. One is that when you have to hydrate from activities. You can't use the restrooms to alleviate yourself after 4:30pm. Two the parks in SD County are taking away the BBQ grills. I guess the dirty birdies that don't clean up afterwards are making it bad for the rest of us.

Great place to practice sports in the football field. There is a really awesome little dog park next to the football field also. That is all across the street from the park. The park and grass area around it is almost the entire block. It's a huge place. Good for many different events and fun things. I definitely recommend this place for anything and everything that is done at a park or large grass area.

This place is not for small kids and play ground beprepared to take toys. Great for teens and playing tennis basketball or just a picnic witch we ended up taking out the frezzby and the chairs

I enjoy coming to exercise using the football field/outdoor gym. I do wish dog owners would be more respectful of the field by cleaning up after their pets/keeping them off of the field. There's a giant sign when you walk through the main gate that says to keep dogs off of the field. Or for dogowners to keep them on the leash. Squirrels in the area get chased by them. Dog park is good sized for both large and small dogs to play in. Restrooms are always filthy, and the occasional homeless population does wander through here.

Beware!! This park is den of thieves. Teenagers are prying on bags and belongings. Don't bring any valuables especially money when going to this park. I will not forget when my son lost his valuables several years ago. In short, don't go to this park.

El Toyon Park is a nice open space in the city. Large trees provide ample shade snd there is room for games, a children's play area and a large horseshoe pit.

  • 5/5 Wayne P. 3 years ago on Google
Nice, but kinda shady spot, if you no what mean.

It's a very comfortable place. Only problem is that the city has not opened the restrooms and there are no restrooms anywhere close to the park.

Its nice to spend a sunny day at.

The park itself is a great place to walk/ jog. However of late people have taken to letting their dogs loose which is violation of city ordinance. Some have even taken control of the tennis courts and let their dogs loose.

Peaceful. Green grass well cared. Children, athletes and dogs find a nexus.

  • 5/5 Elisa G. 3 years ago on Google
Because of Covid 19 the playground its closed but I see the bating spaces open for the baseball people So enjoy and be safe.

  • 2/5 Sayed N. 3 years ago on Google
The park itself is beautiful. But the homeless people, smoking and bad smell from cigarette is not something good. Kids cannot play in the kids area because homeless people are around.

Terrible directions, google maps take you to paradise valley hospital. The location is two or three blocks south of the hospital.

It was quite because it was not crowded at all. We went there to check out the dog park, unfortunately the dog park was closed.

This is a nice park. I met up with my kids here . After they left I stayed and watched the dance group ,they looked like they were all having a great time. Good vibes. This park has a nice ambiance to it.

Nice place to go walk, play tennis, and or take kids to play ground. I did see that everyday they have Zumba there either from 5-6pm or 6-7pm didn't get the days though. But there was a nice big group gathered there.

  • 5/5 Danny A. 2 years ago on Google
Cool park, nice decent size, honestly not too many complaints, besides many homeless live here they're to themselves.

  • 5/5 Xochi G. 2 years ago on Google
Private bathrooms open. Large nice clean Kkds play area. Plenty of parking in parking lot & on the street. Nearby public transportation. Lots of grassy areas. Lots of picnic tables, benches, paved paths, shade & trees. Not too crowded. Right nearby the Paradise Valley hospital.

  • 5/5 Lindsay O. 3 years ago on Google
We really like this park. Given, all we do is walk our dog early in the morning, but no issues. Are there homeless people living there, yes! But they always seem really nice. The... louder ones usually keep to themselves. I’ve walked alone before and feel safe. Really nice tennis courts! The lower park of the park has two dog parks and some workout stations.
