I was happy to check in after a 5 hour drive from AZ. My family and I arrived after midnight so we were happy to get to rooms to relax but after getting in the rooms and looking over things, my daughter in law called me to see if I have encountered the pets. When I turn on the bathroom light I seen two started to crawl from out the cracks in the bathroom wall. I didn’t drive all these miles to start stomping the floor to kill the roaches. With this being noticed a call to the front desk and the answer I got was sorry for that we’ll make a note of it. Well we are here for 4 nights and each night in both rooms We seen roaches that we are not trying to bring back with us. I was also charged 250.00 for smoking in the room which we did not smoke in the room. I did signing the agreement to not smoke in the room which was no problem because I can stand outside to smoke. They found cigarette butts in the beer bottles and assumed that we were smoking in the room. I booked two rooms and when I called to deny this charge and was told that they didn’t have the information on which room was being charged for smoking and they have no information on file to tell me which room was being charged. I will be disputing this charge with my bank for this charge. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Reading through the reviews it seems as though breakfast is the best thing going for them. As far as I’m concerned how can you charge a room and then not have the information documented.

August 2023 Filthy and horrid would be an understatement. We booked a king-size room for three nights. The receptionist originally placed us in a twin room. When we went in, the room smelt of damn and bleach. The room was badly outdated and had stains everywhere. The walls were chiped, and the bathroom had mould! We asked to move room and we were moved to the "better" kind size room. This room was no better. Terrible smell, slow shower, dirty, stains on bedsheets, and on the ceiling. It was dingy and smelt of mould. It was very noisy as the room next door were loud and played music all night. Uncomfortable, unhygienic bed - we now have bites all over our body, so God knows how cleaning works!! We ended up paying for another hotel and checking out on the second day. Customer service was terrible. They simply do not care! We were told we would be compensated for our car park, but it wasn't the case as they still took out money. Both receptionists were rude and cold (a young girl with long hair and an oriental, mature lady). DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! PICTURES ARE DECEIVING!!!! WORST STAY EVER!!!!!

This is definitely an older hotel they’re desperately trying to upkeep. I read some reviews on the front desk not being very friendly but the staff there upon my arrival was very accommodating. Unfortunately, when I showed up the AC wasn’t working. Before checking in they gave me an option to stay or provide me with a full refund. I chose to stay as it would only be one night. Pros: The lobby is nice. The bartender is great and and plays good music. Parking is free and accessible. They provide a hot breakfast in the morning (it’s not a buffet) you wait in line and order your food. The hotel is right across the street from a gas station, mini mart and a fast food place. They also have an outdoor pool and jacuzzi but you have to get there early as people will gather and take it over allowing you no room in the hot tub. Cons: The hotel is old. If you like things super clean you will not like this place. In fact this is the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever been in. From the floors to the wall to the chairs to the toilet it’s really dirty. The only thing that was clean was the bed. The pricing to stay here needs to be brought down quite a bit in order to make up for everything else. I could stay one night but not two cause I refuse to shower in their dirty bathrooms. (See photos)

During the 2023 Holiday season an event I attended was hosted at the Ramada by Wyndham and we had an absolutely amazing time! The staff were friendly and showed wonderful hospitality and they were very accommodating. Their bar near their lobby is a lot of fun too, the bartenders are so nice and really take good care of you. This location is in the heart of National City which is a great location to be in if you are visiting National City, close to several places to dine and shop. Thank you Ramada!! 🙏

I would never stay here again, the good reviews are deceiving. I checked in almost midnight went into my room after a long drive (6 hours) I needed the bathroom and sure enough it was clogged before I even got to use it. Called front desk and was told someone would come right up. Waited over 20 minutes and no one came. The picture frame had full hand print smeared on it. The armoire (closet) was leaning forward like it was going to fall. I then went down to front desk and just requested a new room. I was moved no issue, the room I was moved into had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and had no shower curtain. I didn't want to deal with it so called it a day. Next day went down stairs to let them know I had no shower curtain (I didn't want to be charged for something that was never their). Checked out on Sunday like normal and was over charged for my stay. I guess their rates changed from when I made my booking but they failed to notify me and my booking confirmation had a completely different total amount! Safe to say I will never stay here again 😌 (housekeeping ladies were amazing but unfortunately are treated poorly)

My boyfriend and I have stayed there a few times now and I have to say I don't have one complaint. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, the rooms are always clean and have everything they're supposed to, it's quiet and drama free at night, and last but not least the views are amazing as you go towards the upper flooris. The city with all the lights is breathtaking! I absolutely would recommend this location

I've stayed here several times and it's always very pleasant. Nice views and close to the city. Rooms are large and clean. TV is huge. The staff is awesome... they are chill and friendly, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. There's a fun bar and the restaurant serves a free breakfast.

DO NOT STAY HERE & HERE’s WHY!! I stayed this past week, and let me tell you if you care even a bit about yourself. You deserve way better. The lobby is a complete catfish of the rest of the hotel. From creeky elevators to out of order A/C’s it’s a nightmare here. Me and my pregnant fiancé stayed here for spring break and we’re pleased with the lobby’s tidiness but later faced problems shortly after arrival. We were told that A/Cs we’re out of order and would be fixed within the week but that was a lie since it wasn’t fixed even when we checked out. My pregnant fiancé suffered from heat related headaches since it reach a hot 87 degrees one of those days and made it a warm night for her without A/C. In our room, we clean as a sanitary precaution but it was filthy with dust in multiple places that haven’t seen a cleaning in a while. The walls were extremely thin being able to hear your neighbor through the connecting door which had a gap at the bottom as well as your entry door. Our level of privacy seemed very minor in our private bedroom. Speaking of privacy, one of the housekeeping ladies peeked into our window in the middle of the day as we relaxed with our window screen wide open making us extremely uncomfortable. The housekeeping also gave us a fresh set of towels as we requested and received some with stains on them. In our bathroom, the shower head barely had any pressure to clean ourselves off. With our stay we get complementary breakfast every morning of your stay but don’t even bother. Even thought it’s free, they should be paying me to eat there “food.” I know it’s free and Beggars shouldn’t be choosers but it’s horrendous. We got two separate meals which come with little to nothing on them. Eggs, bacon and potatoes meal was terrible. Rubbery undercooked bacon, bland eggs and mediocre potatoes. Pancake meal ONLY came with pancakes and choice of strawberries OR bananas. We chose strawberries and it was awful and bready. They come with 1 drink each from choice of OJ, Apple Juice, Coffee, or Milk. We had one of each except the milk. Coffee is water, Apple Juice tasted like I put a straw in an apple with a water filter. But the OJ… it was not pleasant. It’s was orange pulp with a side of juice. It had so much pulp in it without warning. If you’re thinking about free breakfast, forget about it. Budget for eating out, trust me it’s worth it, there’s fast food down the street for cheap and 100 times better. Overall, worst hotel stay of my life and I’ve stayed in a better Motel 6 than this place. This a nitpick but all of their equipment in the room such as TV and phone weren’t even the correct room numbers correlated with them. This hotel shouldn’t be running at all. There’s no care for the clientele for how dirty the room and grotesque the food was. They just want your money and hang you out to dry.

We honestly don't know if we'd EVER have as good a trip if we didn't stay here. First, easily accessible location helps with getting places. Second, the views are stunning. But, most importantly, the ENTIRE staff is really helpful and courteous. Ross has not ONLY been a great representation of the property, but a good person to have as a friend. Thank you Ross. And, everyday, Dora, with that beautiful smile in the morning helped wake us up WAY better than 4 cups of coffee. Her sweetness is infectious and her kindness was appreciated. Then, the breakfast crew has ALWAYS been accommodating and prompt. The two brothers,,,, are excellent and extremely caring. Thank you for the way you always make us feel welcomed. And, lastly,,,,, no bugs, no dirt, no stains. Cleaning is TOP NOTCH. thanks again for the greatest time. As always, your friends from Arizona, EVAN & KARA GIOVANNI.

1st of all, we went during Comic Con, so even though the rooms were overpriced, every hotel in SD is overpriced during this time. -Room The room itself was what I would've expected. I'd describe it as "upper roadside motel" vibe. It was clean, but the shower was slow to drain. There was rust in the tub. Something I wouldn't expect from a better hotel. - Service First of all, we had reserved a room with double beds, when we got to the room, it was a king. I went back down stairs and told the front desk. They said they didn't have any double rooms available, but they would send a cot up. They did, and we made it work, but it's still not what we reserved. Housekeeping was kind of a struggle, of all things with towels. Every time they would clean, we would have to ask the front desk for towels. Why? I don't know...but they would bring them up once we requested them. We did have a highlight during our 6 day stay though. We ate at the little restaurant downstairs. Chris that was working the bar was phenomenal! I hope this gets back to him, but he made us feel welcome, and was all together a genuinely nice person. -Location Had I known a little more about this location, I would have probably gotten a room somewhere else. I traveled with a 11 year old boy and a 6 year old girl. There are always, what I am assuming, "ladies of the night" around this hotel. I know that is not the hotel's fault. But I do feel it's relevant information. There were a couple ladies we saw that left very little (and by that I mean NOTHiNG) to the imagination.

I would give this 0 stars if I could… THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! To begin with the staff is unprofessional, the front desk guy Ross was very rude over the phone. They gave us the wrong rooms, not to mention THE ROOMS WERE DISGUSTING!!! A big roach greeted us as soon as we got there. There were bugs in the shower, sheets were dirty, AC didn’t work and to top it off one of the sheets were stained with blood… this is disgusting, unsanitary and hazardous. Blood has blood borne pathogens I couldn’t be more utterly disgusted with this hotel service. The icing on the cake was when the housekeeper woke us up at 8am (barged into our room) and was harassing us saying that we weren’t supposed to be there. We showed her the room key and she stood her ground trying to kick us out. So we had no other choice than to leave at 9am since we were disrespected and woken up. There is way more to tell! I will be reaching out to corporate to address the issue and give an update because there’s no way this is going to stay like this after the horrible experience I had. To top it all off I requested a refund and your front desk worker Ross was rude calling us Liars and giving attitude.

Definitely on the sketcher side of town even tho the navel base was right there.. thought it would be more of a safe environment. Lots of homeless/drug addict people around. Right by the highway, the door was not sealed right so you heard all the traffic... Toliet paper roll holder was broken off the wall when we got into the bathroom of the hotel room. When I booked it was offering free breakfast when we got there it said no longer offering free breakfast. Which kinda stinks... They really should update websites.... They also charge extra for checking in early even if it's only 2 hours early. It was like $50-75 bucks. Almost a whole day room cost.. Overall pretty views but will not be staying here again.

The staff is so rude not helpful at all. Always with an attitude when asking something. The room is falling apart holesevery where the AC don't work. Roaches in the rooms even after they switch me rooms. The parking is not safe you see lady's of the night in the parking lot with guy's waiting in cars. My kids kept asking why the lady was naked in the elevator and it was not just one night it was all 6 nights I was there. I use to stay in this hotel when visiting my family it was never like this. Never staying in this hotel ever again.

The staff at this hotel were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect to easily get to many local attractions. The room was clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi was a welcome way to relax after walking all day enjoying the sights. We looked forward to breakfast every morning, as they remembered our favorite items and they were always so wonderful and kind. Thank you! Kara Morgan Giovanni

Stopped by to rest after a trip to Mexico. No towels or any toiletries were in the room. Called down and was quickly brought up a set of towels but No toiletries were brought. We ended up just knocking out and figured we would handle it in the morning. Unfortunately. The checkout time was 11 and not 12 like it stated on the paperwork we signed downstairs. So we quickly checked out and continued our trip. Would of been nice to have the basic necessities that hotels usually come with. There were no: Towels Toiletries ironing board The TV did not work [ unplugged hdmi ] Otherwise the people were nice and the location was good. The hotel looked cleaned. A few stains on the floor in the room but overall it was decent for under $100 a night. Work on the house keeping and the hotel would be a good choice for anyone visiting San Diego on a budget.

Kenneth was superb during my check in process as he had make it easy to obtain all my keys and my needs for all the rooms I got. He was very accommodating with our special requests for our elderly guests and parking situation. And gave us great recommendations for the entertainment provided by Ramada by Wyndham.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BOOK ELSEWHERE. PROS: price, pets allowed (@$25 × night) CONS: Housekeeping sucks. Top sheet had a blood spot, right on top of the corner of the bed which they should have seen given thats where they tuck under n smooth out the top. The floors weren't swept or moped. Filthy socks within a few hours of hanging out. And my cat kept finding stuff from previous guests. I got pink eye 👁 On my 2nd night I noticed irritated eyes. We checked out the following morning and eyes were still red. I had no idea it was pink eye. No blankets- 3 flat sheets instead of a fitted+flat+blanket. 2 towels for a 4 person room, no hand towels. I didn't want to be that person that complains about everything so I simply removed the top sheet & we slept on top with the blankets we brought with us. The even # rooms face the main street. Noise all day & night. Shower water hoses are flipped- Hot is Cold & Cold is hot. Like other reviews say, upon arrival we didn't get the room we booked so I had to go back and to get the room with 2 beds not 1 king. The # of ppl was right on the booking 2 adults & 2 kids. Now that I'm home and have full-blown pink eye I regret not asking for another room. We needed to leave right away so I didn't have time to stop and make a complaint with the front desk. If I had to chose again, I would NOT stay at this Ramada. Dirty hotel no matter how nice the staff is. I'm so annoyed that we picked this spot to save $ only to end up spending more $ on a doctors visit n medz.

Went here for a friends retirement party, with a group of friends, ordered one drink and when the server collected all cards I gave her mine with the receipt of the drink I purchased. She came back to return everyone’s cards I asked her for mine she asked me If I had ordered at the bar and I said no, she already looked confused like she didn’t know where she had left my card. She said she would check if she could find it and she came back and accused me of not giving her my card in the first place. I told her I just gave it to you and I told you to add a bucket of beer and you said you were gonna close the tab first. She kept insisting that I never gave her the card. I told them to check the cameras and they said it didn’t show me handing her my card. I asked to see the footage and she took me in to see it and the footage shows me giving her the card, but the manager says it’s the girl next to me and you can clearly see the girl next to me give her her own card after me , I said why would she give her card twice. I told her the first time it was me. The second time it was the girl next to me. They denied it at all cost. I told them I don’t care about the card I can just cancel it. But why not admit that she misplaced it. I was really upset that the manager took the servers side and both pretty much were calling me a liar even if I had witness that saw when I handed her my card. They just kept denying it. I was rally upset it ruined my night I wanted to have a good night and I was going to keep consuming but they didn’t care. Never going back here. Very disappointed 😔

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I constantly keep getting charged 198.28 . I don’t know what kind of scam they are doing here. Then they tell you they don’t see any charge on their part. Trying to dispute it with my bank. I stayed there in June of 2023. This is ridiculous and I’m going to have to change my debit card just so I won’t get random charges from this hotel. Never again! With this scam I basically paid almost 500 to stay 2 nights!

Check in Experience: 5 star; Checkout Experience: 5 star Parking Space: Free and ample parking at basement. 5 star Rooms: Spacious, relatively new and non smoking Location: Prime area, closer to downtown and beaches. 5 star AC: 2/5 star as it wasn't working and when complained, front desk told it was a known issue as AC wasn't working whole building!! Worst part they didn't inform during check in. Breakfast: Complimentary, limited but tasty. Lobby and Dining Area: 5 star Overall I am rating this 1 star less just because AC wasn't working and staff didn't inform at the time of check-in. Guests had to bear the brunt of it as the room was hot.

Was a good overall experience! Everything was great from the staff, to the comfy beds, and yummy breakfast! But the very loud ac-heat unit made going to bed hard if you like the air on. That was my only complain other than that everything else was great!

Good option for a short trip, very good location, the rooms were clean. Breakfast was included, it was also varied. The attention was great too. As the only suggestion, the general areas can improve in cleanliness.

  • 1/5 Ken H. 2 years ago on Google
No running water for 2 hours now, and the front desk hung up on me 3 times while calling down about it. The AC drips into the bathroom, there's a big gap under the room door and you can hear all the street noise (and it's a fairly busy street below), the curtains are either blackout or nearly transparent, and the door frames are rusted out. Oh, and the sheets are crusty.

  • 1/5 Joseph Brennen G. 8 months ago on Google
They "accidentally" add extra charges to your credit card and you have to request they remove them otherwise, oops, you get double charged. They're so sketchy! They did this to our whole team that stayed there. Toilet didn't flush, no shower curtain, linens piled on the beds, no towels... Sounds lovely doesn't it? Located in the "red light district" of National City. New experience for our kids :/

Dirty blankets when we arrived, & only 1 towel provided Ina. Double bed room. Rude front desk staff and housekeeping, nice to be close to base but should have just stayed on base or even at a hotel on hotel circle.

  • 4/5 Dave W. 9 months ago on Google
Rooms were somewhat renovated, but still aged. A/C worked great, but had a little condensation leaking onto floor. Basic cable channels, coffee maker, fridge, the usual. Not much to complain about which is great for older hotels. Bar was decently priced, same with food. Would definitely recommend for a weekend of travel and sight seeing. Only 10 minutes from the Gas Lamp district and Coronado.

Other than a bit of a language barrier between me and some Housekeepers, they were super friendly and the view from the 10th floor is amazing! Let us go up again to see the sunset when we left. Loved it! The only reason one star is missing was because of the room cleaning, it wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t bad, just minor flaws.

  • 2/5 Jose S. 1 year ago on Google
Location is very central and very close to highway on-ramp. When we arrived, their system was down (not their fault) so we had to fill out a paper form to check in. Front desk staff was not very welcoming and would have side whispering conversations before talking to us. The room was in decent shape, but the floors were sandy before we walked in. We booked a room for four (2 kids) with two beds, but were only given two towels. We had to request extra towels from the front desk anytime we needed more. Rooms were not cleaned daily per a note at the front desk. You could request service, but when we did, we were told that it is only performed every three days, even though their note stated that it could be requested. Our room was services once; bedsheets and covers switched and trash taken out. They took the towels we had picked up that morning and only provided three this time. We had issues with the key cards every day we were there. Sometimes one would work, but every day we had to get new key cards issued. On our last day after visiting with family and came in late. Key card issues again, but this time the lock itself went completely dead. Security had to go down and get "special tools" (it was a screwdriver) to remove the cap and use a key to let us in. He struggled to find the right key as well. At 1:30 am, we had someone messing with our door to change the batteries on the lock. Breakfast is included after requesting breakfast coupons/tickets from the front desk. Again, we booked a room for four, but would only be given two coupons/tickets. When I would ask for two more, a sigh and 'extra' look would be given. Not a place we would want to stay at again.

A big NO to staying in this place if you planning to have a good vacation with your family. Stayed here last weekend 2 nights with family. The amenities included Air-conditioning but during check in we were told that the AC ain't working in the whole hotel and they asked us to keep the windows open for air. Later on checking reviews only came to know that they have been saying the same to all the customers for more than a month. Such a scam.. The room was smelly. We reserved room for 2 adults and 2 kids including our infant. They provided BF pass only for 2 and on enforcing only were able to get for my 6y old kid. The breakfast was below average with very limited options and was very bland. I regret booking at this hotel and am never staying in any Wyndham hotels every again.

This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I have had ever! First of all, the hotel AC has been down since April, and I was informed when I was checking in that it was down! We're in the middle of May when it is considerably warmer and more humid! Why wasn't I informed beforehand rather than when I was checking in and I would not have time to find another place to go? I was only told the next day that the AC will only get fixed in June. The communication was atrocious and front desk personnel were rude to say the very least. Second, the in-hotel laundry was beyond disgusting. The machines were rusted, broken, one was flooded with foul smelling water and would charge $4 a load; this is ridiculous. We did not wash any clothes here after seeing the machines. Third, I saw small cockroaches in the hallway and a few in the room too; this was so revolting and unacceptable. The room's floors were dirty, and we couldn't take off our socks. Lastly, the breakfast was not prepared well too; I got very sick after eating it one morning and only had juice to avoid any further upsets until I could go out and get something to eat. In all honesty and good conscience, I cannot recommend this hotel. It is dirty, poorly managed and so uncomfortable. Find some other place to stay and avoid yourself the heartache. I did not want to do this, but nobody deserves their vacation ruined by not being able to get a good night's rest; we did not get proper rest for the entire duration of our stay here and will never come back ever!

The good - Great views, decent food, easy parking, and the area is really growing into a hangout spot. I will continue to stay here for the price and parking (other places charge a lot for parking). The bad - I stayed here twice with about two weeks separation between each visit. The A/C was broken on my first visit, and STILL broken by my second visit (- 1 star). Another star lost because while they are working to keep the rooms up-to-date, there are still material issues.

The first room we were placed in the floors were filthy and there was a huge hole in the carpet. The phone kept unplugging when we called down to the front desk. They sent someone up to check it and he was wonderful and put us in a new room. Both the first room and the 2nd room most the electrical outlets were loose so our chargers would fall out. The new room had gum stuck to the wall and boogers on another wall very gross.

The room we stayed at had cockroaches. Was able to move to another room the next day. Had a lot of street girls using the outside bathrooms for their business. Got charged 3 times for my room. 1 charge was the stay, 2 was the 100 deposit, 3 was almost $400 extra and manger was telling me it’s because I have a debit card, which I never had a problem with Wyndham before. I called my bank and they told me I have to wait to dispute it. Never staying there again

Three reasons behind the two stars: 1) When we reached the property they told us the AC is down and we could cancel if we wanted to. 2) The Queen size beds they have are definitely not queen. They're full size beds. 3) There is no complimentary water available.

This isn't a bad place but the staff need better pay and more hires. They did great considering the circumstances but I regularly saw employees working 12+ hour shifts. The breakfast is full service and very tasty but you have to get tickets from the front desk after waiting in line, then you brave another long line of other guests to order, then you have to wait for your food so it ends up taking almost 2 hours to eat breakfast. Please hire more staff.

The staff here were really nice and very accommodating. The room is clean. The pool area was clean, we enjoyed the hot tub. Two things.. 1) we didn’t see the pool towel sign until we left the pool area, so we used one of room towels. 2) please put a floor towel or mat in the rooms for people getting out of the shower, and two hand towels and two wash clothes would have been nice. Other than that we’re happy with the room.

Perfect location. Fantastic balcony views and the service was professionally beneficial; staff very helpful. it is an excellent place to stay. Have nice selection of snacks, lounge bar, dining area. Maybe next time they will have Greek yogurt? Italian restaurant I enjoyed across the way, as good next to Little Italy and a few other restaurants, and Starbucks on that street nearby. Suggest Calling First make sure the air conditioning furnace is working fine. Including the room, you will be staying in. Make sure to confirm that the air conditioning does not sound broken and rattling and doesn't give out cool/cold air If you are coming to visit and on long-distance travel, you want quiet air conditioning that works intact; you no Even though they apologized and waited on an air conditioning part. Good thing it was not a heat wave; til next time, I hope to have the time to view all the deck-level balcony floors. What a view

Nice people. Food is decent but portions are small. Waiting in line can be excruciating for someone with arthritis. Our table rocks. Room was nice except air conditioning was noisy and while we could not hear noise from neighbors too much, there was some banging perhaps from door closes. TV was massive and nice. Price was good compared to other places and the hotel was better than a motel but not as nice as fancier hotels. It was a nice stay for the money, but I’d prefer a hotel with a small buffet where you can get your own coffee, juice, and items of your choice. Strawberry pancakes had equivalent of about 1 1/2 strawberries with a tiny sprinkle of powdered sugar. Orange juice and coffee were not refillable snd were excessively small. But the food tasted good.

The staff is very kind. The housekeeping staff is the best of all. They are so sweet, and they go above and beyond. As far as price and proximity to the naval base, it's a good deal. It also accepts pets which is a big plus. There is also a restaurant breakfast. If you are looking to work out, you should know that all the of their cardio machines are broken. Also, we have had an extended stay and have had a bit of trouble with the air conditioner in the heat wave. The laundry is $4 a load to wash and $4 a load to dry, but there are nice laundromats down the street. I do recommend, but I would rather higher of the gym was in working order.

Employee Reggie was one of the most pleasant and helpful people I've ever came across at any hotel. He was very friendly and polite and went above and beyond with his customer service. My son was really impressed with him as well. I think all hotels should seek to hire people like him.
