Great location at the edge of a great tank with a beautiful view and great breeze...Friendly staff.... Rooms are adequately spacious and clean but could be improved with colour washing and minor repairs. Should improve the wi-fi service as rooms have poor reception. Quality of food should be improved...

I recently stayed at Hotel Sudu Araliya in Polonnaruwa and had a mixed experience. The room was comfortable, and the location was convenient for exploring the area. However, the dining experience left much to be desired. The food was overly salty with limited variety, and the service was disappointingly poor. A particular low point was the tea, which was among the worst I’ve ever tasted. Despite the positives, improvements in food quality and service are crucial for a more satisfying stay.

Such a waste of time and money. Garden has a good view of the lake and the swimming pool is nice. Other than that everything else is just not reasonable for the price including the food. AC sounds like a tractor. Never recommend anyone for a 20K+ LKR cost for double room.

Poor rooms, very noisy and bad service. Overrated hotel. Paying $180 for 2x double bed rooms in an empty hotel is not market conform in comparison with other 4star accomodations. Promised discount at the check in was not met. However we enjoyed the swimming pool and view over the lake.

Really love the hotel services. The staffs are nice and helpful especially for the Asanka(supervisor ) and service team. They serve me so well in the Christmas party.They giving me a very warm Christmas for a solo traveler 🥰🥰. If I have a chance to visit Sri Lanka again, I will definitely come back

Hotel looks amazing from the outside. Beds and rooms were good but the bathroom doesn't smell very good, and the room isn't soundproof. What the neighbour talks about can be clearly heard from our side. Food options especially desserts weren't satisfactory. But the taste of it overall was really good.

The rates that the lady at the reception said changed when we checked outt.I do not recommend anyone to go there.No amenities in the room... no refrigerator... no light in the balcony... the commode is not clean... no hair dryer...Food..., not enough food. Additional drinking water is not available.. The food in the morning buffet is very less. There is a good staff, the service is good...but I do not recommend Polonnaruwa Hotel Sudu Araliya to anyone.

Rooms were not much attractive . food also not in much taste.but it has a great view and nice calm location. Also the front desk staff also great.I wonder why they don’t focus on rooms and food .Since they have a beautiful large area near the lake view it will be a amazing place for attract guests. I suggest to the owner and the management to improve these lacking areas. if not this valuable and beautify property will be a waste.

stayed 2 nights. 1. Very clean and very well maintained 2. wifi not good in room, but great in lobby, dining area in case you need to get work done 3. very good food, good variety 4. garden area is especially beautiful 5. good for the price Asanka and his team were excellent!!

Really good hotel with good food and really good ambience and spacious rooms. A special mention to the hotel staff who took care of us when we didn’t understand the language. They even played hindi songs for us. The location is one of the best I would say since there is lake on both sides and elephants visit during the dry season. Love from India 🇮🇳

The hotel has a breathtaking view of the Lake(Parakrama Samudrya). But unfortunately the rooms, food and other facilities are so worse. No proper maintenance and hotel room facilities (Ac/ Fan, Bathroom) looks so old. Not worth of money for a hotel stay and only good thing is the garden and the lake view. Just so sad that they haven’t got the best out of that amazing environment.

Best place to visit. Awesome view and no vehicle noises or any noises. Just left the hotel yesterday after finishing the trip. Every meal was so clean and tasty. The staff was so friendly and they were hard working too. Staff boys helped us a lot more than in any other hotel. Highly recommend to visit the place.

We had a wonderful time at the hotel. The sunset views of the lake were breathtaking. The service was impeccable and everyone was very friendly and courteous. The restaurant food was delicious and a big thank you to Asanka and the service team for making our experience so enjoyable.

It’s a nice hotel close to the lake with a beautiful view and very nice employees. I had a good Ayurveda treatment and the dinner was delicious. Asanka and the service team pay a lot of attention and so I enjoyed the evening a lot.

Had an amazing stay here. The staff was friendly specially the house keeping was really nice and super friendly! Loved my experience here. I’ll be visiting again soon!!!

The location is breathtaking. You have access to the lake and watching elephants. The hotel has a huge garden with different activities available, including kids pool. The hotel is clean and chic, and the personnel is very helpful and eager to help. Food was good, they have western options, local dishes, and desserts. We had a very pleasant stay and we totally recommend this place.

I brought a family from Canada on 01/09/2024 and came to White Araliya Hotel to have lunch. I always say it's a good hotel. Otherwise I wouldn't have brought it. The food they ordered was very cold. I was told that the place is very beautiful. The ordered HotelsuduAraliya special food.The fish that was cooked was also not good. Issa was very raw. He said that he complained to the head chef.They had paid the full amount for this lunch. He also said that he is a young man. They told me not to bring people to places like this. I don't want to bring this hotel down. Correct these mistakes. I will give my best support. Please let me know when a manager sees my complaint.I will remove this.Thank you very much.

Poor service.. 😞I choose this hotel for my honeymoon. The breakfast was received at 10.30am. also I called 4 time from eight in the morning and remembered. At first they said 25000 Rs, but when I tried to pay for the package at checkout, they said 36000 Rs. We couldn't spend the honeymoon happily with this careless service. Anyway, food and locations was good

We stayed Hotel suthu araliya Polanaruwa room no 57 on 29th of June 2023. Hotel location and environment are good but we face some difficulties 1. Communication staff cannot manage other than sinhala language . 2.They are not helping mind because I was asking 1st floor or 2nd floor lake side view room they told me 1st or 2nd floor lake view room not available that day, only ground floor available but I noticed 2 rooms were available that day in 1st and 2nd floors. 3. Room facilities is old one. Bathroom small and water leakage . 4.That day was our special day .we choose Hotel suthu araliya Polanaruwa for that but we totally disappointed . 5.we though they are concerned about only energy saving . 6.Wifi only working in restaurant and reception area and even our mobile network data also not working in the room . 7. Very less number of foods variety in dinner and breakfast . Totaly we were not happy about Hotel suthu araliya Polanaruwa

I went to my friend's wedding at Sudu Araliya Hotel and had a terrible experience. I was expecting a classy hotel with excellent service, but it was actually quite average. The wedding was held in a non-air-conditioned area in the afternoon, and it was so hot that we were all sweating profusely. Even the fans were not turned on, and we had to ask the staff to do it. The staff was also not very professional. They were wandering around aimlessly and did not seem to be very interested in helping us. I don't know how they treat guests who stay at the hotel, therefore I would not recommend it based on my experience.

Rooms must be much improved. The attitude of restaurant steward should be improved, as should how they deal with customers and provide other table services. No rooms have WiFi. However, the hotel reception is excellent.

Bordering the water body, calm surroundings and rustic looking buildings gives a unique vibe to the whole place! Much different from other hotels of Araliya chain but great place to visit

Nothing to complain about rooms, staff and the atmosphere. They are doing an amazing job keeping the garden clean. We loved it there. But didn’t enjoy the buffet at all. Not enough varieties to choose from and also could have tasted better.

We went there in the morning around 7: 30 to use the swimming pool but they said "You should wait until 8:30 because we have to clean the swimming pool" so we waited until 8:30 and we paid 750rs per person. We didn't take any drink and food from them if you want u can take them also. Very good place to spend time with family and friends because they have a very big outdoor.....

Located at the bank of one of the beautiful lake in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. Parakrama samudraya which is the largest and the oldest lake built in 386 AD. The hotel is breathtaking but the rooms are not too attractive and modern build anyway they were cleaned well. The bar was also good but they separately charges for the pool board even for the guests(never seen in other stay). The garden is beautiful, well maintained and very peaceful. The swimming pool is also super 👍 , one of the best I have seen. There were less no. of guest on our stay because of that the morning buffet was not arranged it was served separately. The staff is also helpful and friendly. Not 100% satisfied with the stay due to the room .

Food was lovely and there were very nice staff members. However, we stayed there when it was rainy and the ramps makes it a slipping hazard. The gym is very basic and rusty as if it hasn’t been cleaned or used in months. Room was lovely, but you have to use wifi vouchers which last for a day or two which was quite annoying. Would recommend.

The staff is friendly. The price is very reasonable. The park is quiet. You can drink a beer freely even at the bar 😌

Service was very poor. We went for a wedding and the staff was not trained properly. No ventilation to the hall and that of course a violation of COVID-19 safety protocol.

On 14th January 2022 we went to the hotel on Full Board Basis. This is one of the best hotels in Polonnaruwa. Friendly staff, tasty food and Swimming Pool is very clean. I recommend this hotel. Hope to come again in the future.

Awesome location overlooking Parakrama Samudraya. We reserved a triple room and they were very spacious. Very friendly staff. A perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Only drawback was the food which was below average.

Went for a wedding occasion yesterday. The room which I got is very poor. (Zero maintenance) Service level of staff is the worst I’ve ever seen. Probably the worst staff in the island. The funny thing was when the wedding function is going on, they were cleaning the fish tank which is middle of the wedding hall…😂😂😂😂😂

This hotel has the best view which is breathtaking view towards the parakrama samudraya. But the staff are not much professional and food also not up to the standards. We arrived the hotel in Jan 2022 with expecting our rooms to be ready by 14:00 as they informed us on previous day. But rooms were not ready at that time, therefore they asked us to have lunch until they make the room ready. Having lunch we returned to the reception around 15:30 to get the room keys, but only one room was ready at that time and the rest of the rooms were not ready. We got other two rooms around 16:30 and until that time our luggages were at the lobby. The hotel had breakfast, lunch, dinner buffets but the food variety is really poor. And had average food range which we were not expecting from a star class hotel. Their rooms are big and clean. And the view to the room also amazing, garden also well maintained. But the restaurant and the food are not up to that level.
