The moment you walk into this store (part if a much larger chain) a riot of colours hit you. One cannot but admire the way in which the layout pulls customers in. Every visit of ours to India includes a visit to The Bombay Store and this visit was no different. Even though people say the store caters to the "foreign" audience there is enough in there to aid the local audience interested in sprucing up their homes with an ethnic touch. The majority of items are priced properly and offer good value for money. If I have any reservations about this chain it is that in all my visits here, over the years, the repertoire of items have not gone beyond the normal. I am sure that India, with its divergent and vibrant art history, will offer a lot more for this chain to sell. Beyond the standard coasters, stoles, idols and the likes. The chain can encourage local and rural artists to sell their wares and increase the offering it has. The other aspect is that these stores tend to have a lot of staff. Which, while being good, sometimes works against it. In this trip the staff of this chain at the In Orbit mall were loudly chatting amongst themselves and creating quite the ruckus, even as shoppers browsed through the store. All in all, The Bombay Store provides a lot for your gifting ideas and home decoration needs.
