Railway

railway
division

formed

April
1952

headquarter

has

steepest
gradients
of

curve
of

between Kalakund and Patalpani station

Dr.
Ambedkar
Nagar
-Khandwa
section.
Ratlam
Division
serves
the
people
of Malwa with
efficient,
cheap,
accessible
transport

The
division
is
not

importance

industrial,
social,
economic
and
historical
importance.
Besides Indore,
which
is
one
of
the
most
important
commercial
cities
of
Madhya
Pradesh
on
Ratlam
division, Dewas and Nagda are

other
industrially
developed
towns
on

division
while
Pithampur
near
Indore
is
the
newly
developed
industrial
area.

of Jhabua and

historical
and
holy
cities
of
Ujjain

Rajasthan

of
the

division
transports

of
passengers
per
day
by
running

express
train
and

passenger
train
per
day.
Ratlam
division
