Stunning view and location for a lunch with beautiful weather. Sushi was on point like ocean basket standard. Everything was as expected and I enjoyed my meal here, will definitely come back. Thanks.

7 min wait to be seated when space was avalible. Seated in an area where the aircon made it feel like a blizzard despite asking for it to be reduced. Took over an hour for the food to arrive despite asking. Was told we couldn't order tap water because it "tastes bad" and then found out on the bill the the 1l bottle of still water we ordered was R42! When the food finally arrived it came in drips and drabs with some of the fish being so hard it was literally inedible. When this was pointed out the waitress said "I'm sorry what would you like me to do about it?" We suggested she tell her manager. Later the bill came with no appearance of the manager, no apology monetarily or professionally. When asked to speak to the manager she didn't make herself avalible. In contrast, another family who waited for and hour and 40 min did receive an apology from the manager and prompt service thereafter. They were white. We are not. Draw your own conclusions. We have never been to the area before but would highly recommend you take your patronage elsewhere. Unless of course you want a long wait for terrible food and a taste of apartheid then this is definitely the place for you.

Absolutely best Fish in Port Alfred! My husband had the kingklip and I had the salmon, we went back a few weeks later again. It is so fresh, stunning location and ambiance. Great service, definitely a must on your visit to PA

Last time we were in port Alfred, we had an amazing time , this time however was incredibly disappointing. Waited over an hour for food, apparently they cook one table at a time. And when asked how long it would be, we got a very unpleasant attitude in response. We unfortunately won't be back

Ocean Basket Port Alfred provides panaromic river views while you enjoy your meal. There were more than a couple prawns with black heads. Ew. But it was fine. The view was honestly the best part.

4 of us went to lunch and as usual with the Ocean Basket franchise it was a good meal, 3 of us had Bite of the Ocean and one had Calamari and Prawns. Beautifully cooked and presented, the fish especially was prepared and presented well and not overcooked.

I ordered two hake and calamari. One with chips and one with rice as well as a normal hake and chips. I received 1 x hake and calamari en 2 x hake and chips. However I paid for 2 x hake and calamari and 1 x hake and chips. Not happy about that at all!

So helpful! Went the extra mile to help us, kept us informed when there was a reasonable delay on the meal. Lovely setting and wonderful staff.

We come regularly. The food took a little too long this time, but the friendly, down to earth waitress cushioned that well enough. Every detail of the meal, and we had platters plus mussel sides, was just perfect. Compliments to the chef! The white wine and lemon garlic sauces are a win!

Great value for money. Tasty and well prepared food. The manager was very helpful when we needed a quick bite for someone in our group whose blood sugar dropped. Beautiful view - just a pity that the best view (outside on the river bank) is reserved for the few smokers who ate there.

Selection is limited in Port Alfred, but Ocean B's food was tasty and prepared faster than I expected. Will definitely go there again if I'm in the area.

Nothing beats consistency and Ocean Basket in Port Alfred has excellent service and delicious seafood. Lovely view of the Kowie River as well with benches to soak up the sun.

Excellent venue by the riverside,after a bit of a wait food arrived and was delicious, we had the veg options of a zuccini wrap,falafel.....,as well as the platter for two including prawns,calamari,and salads ,all superb......thank you!

Very good atmosphere and excellent service but my platter was a bit disappointing. Food was not that warm and the rice was disappointing. I love the place but yesterday was just not their day.

Had a great experience from the minute I walked in. The food was perfectly done to my liking ,great value for money and the atmosphere was next level , I will definitely visit again soon.

Early dinner for two. We had their calamari which was lovely abd tender. Covid protocols observed. Staff were most accommodating about moving us inside when it got chilly. Beautiful setting on the riverside.

Came here over December and got great food and service. The location of the restaurant is wonderful! We sat at an outside table right next to the river. Overall a lovely experience!

Went there new years afternoon, what a dissapointment!! No sushi, the bread rolls was served after the starters, more than an hour after we were seated. Our waiter was so busy entertaining people at other tables, that we had to ask for the drinks that we've ordered through another waiter! The food was not bad, but definitely not on the normal Ocean Baskets standard that we're used to. Will not go there again!

Such a beautiful experience for my bday celebration. Gerald was a very attentive and friendly waiter. All our food was super tasty and delicious.
