I volunteer for a local organization in Thessaloniki that supports refugee youth. Today, my team, along with 9 refugee youth came to this resort for a pool day to give the youth a fun day, but were denied at the front desk. While scores of other people walked by to enjoy the pool, we, for some reason, were stopped and put through a number of 'medical checks' and eventually denied access. It's a sad day and a poor reflection on this club when nine young people who just want a pool day away from their daily challenges aren't allowed, for no apparent reason. The Makedonia Palace Hotel has a beautiful pool area and seems to have no such scruples in letting paying customer refugee youth enjoy their pool. Shame on Ocean Club.

I can't believe that there is very little written on the Internet about this place for the daytime. What an absolute gem! We're staying in an apartment in the centre of Thessaloniki that doesn't have a pool and got a quote from a nearby hotel of €15 per person for use of their pool. As 6 adults, this seemed a little much so we checked out this place instead. €7 per adult, our 2 year old daughter went in for free and the only prerequisite is spending €5 per person whether that be on food or drinks. As soon as we arrived, we were given multiple bottles of 1L water and cups of ice (free of charge) and shown to our sun loungers. We were put near the kiddie pool as the area at the opposite end is more geared towards adults only and is where the DJ is. There is a little pool for children and one end of the deeper pool is cordoned off for familes so that adults have exclusive use of the other end. After about an hour of being there, we ordered a range of food, pizza, club sandwiches, a chicken burger (both made with copious amounts of perfectly cooked chicken fillets), shrimp tempura, a BBQ burger and a selection of fruit. The food portions were huge and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. We were also given the freshest waffles I have ever eaten with ice cream as a complimentary dessert and we were offered shots of skinos in frozen shot glasses as a digestif after our meal. We ate in a separate dining area near to the pool, under the shade of trees with pretty lanterns that I imagine look great at night. The pool is a decent size and clean, there are plenty of staff and there were 2 lire guards on duty at all times. The toilets were not up to the same standard but were fine for what you need and there are also showers indoors. The drinks are expensive here. My parents paid €5.50 per bottle of Amstel but the food was fantastic value given the quality and portion size. We didn't buy any other drinks as they kept bringing fresh litre bottles of water every time we ran out. We had a great day out. Our bill at the end of the day was €61.50 which included the 2 beers. Tip: Ask for the food menu in English. I spend ages translating the Greek one before they brought an English one over! You could easily drive past this place on the street and not realise it's there. We're only on Day 2 of our holiday so we'll definitely be back!

The staff was very rude and racists. They denied access to us because we are an organisation which works with refugees and we had some of them with us. They found different excuses such as the fact that we had minors with us (15 and 16 years old) as well as that we did not have dermatological clearance which was never asked for before.

I really loved the fact that there's a pool really next to my house where I can enjoy a slight part of summer without traveling. I really liked of how cheap the entrance was (7€) and how quick the waiters are trying to serve you. Chill and quiet. The only problem which i consider a problem is that the music was too loud. But again that's a personal preference. There are many safeguards nearby keeping your children safe as well as the pool. Excellent and clean spacious environment.

Nice establishment but with rude staff and misguiding advertisements. Contrary to what they lead you to believe entrance to the pool is not gained only by the entrance fee but also extends to a compulsory order of food or drinks, either of which will set you back at least 5 euros more.

Nice place for a few drinks with nice music and beautiful crowd. Great vibes in a nice ambient.. try it out

Very high prices for the food and the drinks , also not being able to go in if you are not 18+ is a very downside since you cannot go with your friend let's say if you are 17 the pool area is pretty good but I wouldn't recommend going there and searching for another nearby pool Like nouvelle although is a hotel it offers amazing pool great prices and good service and you can go alone if u are a minor. Good place to spend a hot summer day. The prices are reasonable and the service is very good. It is true that it was extremely crowded and the music was too loud and not that good (except for a couple of songs). Not bad experience at all. The pizzas were very good.

Sind 50km hin gefahren um dort bisschen zu entspannen und was zu essen. Ankunft war 17:30, laut Google bis 03:00 geöffnet. Vollen Eintritt bezahlt wurden auch nicht informiert das es um 19 Uhr komplett zu macht. Nicht zu empfehlen.

I am waiting for more than 2 hours for coffee and food. The place is crowded and the organisation is bad.

Well it's most probably the best pool bar in Thessaloniki, very tasty drinks, very beautiful enviroment, although a little expensive.

Probably the best place in town for a quick swim and coffee or drink by the pool. Friendly staff, big pool and lots of people. Has a good parking space, changing and showering as well. Friendly forwards families as the pool is divided in 2 spaces, one being low depth for kids supervised by 2 lifeguards at all times. By the night it turns into a pool bar.

Great place for drinks and coffee throughout the day. The pool is beautiful and the selection of snacks provided is so fresh. only 20 minutes from the city centre, it offers a sense of privacy and freshness.

Nice place to relax. With two swimming pools. One big and deep, and one small for kids. The swimming pool it's very clean. You can drink a coffee, beer, wine, cocktails and many other things. You can have a snack, salads, pizza, sandwiches. The prices is not very expensive... Service is very kind and you don't need to wait much. I recommend this place to everyone :)
