Beautiful place to relax and enjoy your free time. You can have a small wedding or function for more than 200 people indoor and more than 700 people outdoor. The river view is amazing!

Though the Totupola Lakeside is located at a scenic point by the Bolgoda lake, the way they maintain and manage the place is very disappointing. Common washrooms were really smelly and there were no water in the ladies changing rooms. There were plenty of garbage floating on the water, on bends especially at the place where kayaking activities were based. Some parts of the main hall were still under construction and because of that the other areas which were not under construction were full of dust. They opened the lunch buffet at 2:30 PM though it was supposed to be opened at 12 and the food was bland and not worth the price. But the staff who handled all the adventure activities were well qualified and very helpful.

We paid advance payment of 50000 to book the place for our wedding. And after few weeks thotupola was closed down for more than a year. We had to change our plans and still can not get our money back. Not recommending at all.

Our engagement was a sudden plan and we had less than a week to arrange everything but the hotel staff , specially Mr. Kumara helped us in arranging everything within few days. The food was delicious and was served well. Washrooms were also quiet good and the room that was provided was very neat and clean. The staff was very supportive with a really good service. The place was cleaned and arranged nicely. This hotel is an all in one hotel since you get an enchanting scenery that suits your photos. The environment is really calm and the wind is soothing. The view is exceptionally beautiful. Our thanks goes to all the members of the staff for making our special day ultra superior! 💐🍃

Location is beautiful. But it's not maintained well at all. Bathrooms are dirty. There's mud on the floors all over. Food was horrible. Gave us a soup that seemed to be heated up fresh milk with some pieces of chicken.

Nice location and surrounding. We had our wedding on December 2018 and although most reviews said that food is not good, on our day it was very delicious and had good comments. service is not bad. Rooms are average. Any way nice location for a wedding and photo shoot.

Poor customer service; don't let these people waste your money and time. Our day function had been planned on December 23rd, 2023, but the location was not adequately organized according to the reservation, so we departed and spent the day nearby location. My worst experience ever 😒

One of my business event hold at Thotupola Lakeside few days ago. Their service was extraordinary. Food quality and taste was excellent. Location also perfect. This is a great place but maintenance was questionable. Food is good. But Soup is not. There are few activities there. Also a great view.

We want to thank the hotel management and the staff so much for all of the help they provided coordinating our wedding! Special mention goes to Mr. Sarath and Mr. Kumara who helped on our special day. Everything went amazingly well that day and I cannot express how appreciative we are for everything that you all did for us! The food was amazing, everyone enjoyed it. Hats off to the chef ❤️. The location is spectacular with an amazing view over the Bolgoda lake. We surely recommend Thotupala Lakeside to anyone.

Average. Had to go through some seriously narrow lanes to reach the place. Very spacious. Rooms were average, but lacked privacy. Food was not to the level of charges. Buffet included few very tasteless curries. Can engage in climbing and boat riding. But the trainer who was in charge of the adventure activities was not very polite. Rudely commented and scolded few of our guests. Not visiting again if I have the choice.

Amazing location with ample amount of outdoor space for small groups. The place has run down due to the Pandemic and the financial crisis. However, it has a lot of potential. Rooms need to be renovated and the staff training is essential. Canoeing, Rock/wall climbing and a zip line are available as outdoor activities. Canoeing at the bolgoda lake gives an awesome experience. I sincerely hope that this place develops to its fullest potential. It would be an ideal getaway from busy Colombo lives within just a 30 min drive.

This location is exceptionally lovely and perfect for hosting weddings. The cuisine was delectable, and the staff, particularly Mr. Kumara, was extremely supportive, ensuring that our wedding day unfolded exactly as we had envisioned. I cannot emphasize enough how delightful the food was, and I highly recommend this venue for any special event.

A very beautiful place with a view of a lake. The food is great. There is a good friendly staff, very helpful and very flexible. We can talk and arrange everything as we want. Yesterday I went to a wedding. The function was beautiful. Keep up the good work.

Really a good and an attractive place for outdoor functions. The place is neatly managed with an evergreen environment and the food of the hotel were really delicious.

It is better you have spare reservation somewhere else when you're planning the next getaway here because they don't hesitate to cut off your reservation at the last minute if they get another one with higher number of heads. Even though they got a nice place, utterly dissapointed about the service.

Sad to see the status of a location that was most sought holiday, adventure and party destination once. Food is still good. But rooms and location is poorly maintained.

This is a wonderful place for nature lovers and adventurous travelers near the Colombo area. We did our family gathering here. The hotel staff arranged everything that we desired as flexible. They did it by updating our ideas day by day by contacting us. foods and beverages were delicious as we expected. We did adventurous activities with proper guidance. The place, foods, drinks, and other activities were really worth the paid prices.

location is beautiful but service are not satisfied. when we are came on dayouting, hotel is not ready for it. furthermore, last night have been a event or function. buffet clearing started when we coming after. kyk riding boats is ok. but anyone didn't like to jump to river. river is very clear😂😂😂 cable is not sure to flying.

They don't deserve this nice place. Irresponsible staff and poor service. They cancalled our reservation without any notice just because they got a reservation with higher pax.

Love the location, very remote and surrounded by nature. They have a parking lot as well. The hotel at the time we went was being renovated but still beautiful and right next to the lake. They also offered welcome drinks free of charge. They have adventuring stuff here as well: Kayaking: 500/- Wall Climbing: 500/- Zipline: 500/- The pool costs 700/- per person and should be decent but the day we went, it had some debris and was occupied with children so we decided to switch. The guide, Anushka is super nice and professional. We kayaked to a little island and the scenery is very picturesque. Food is affordable and good. Perfect spot for family outings and just byob and chill by the lakeside.

The only good thing about this place is the outdoor venue. The service was terrible and no one including any of the managers took any responsibility or showed any urgency to sort things out even after we complained so many times! The venue was supposed to be ready for us by 4.30 p.m. but even at 7 when guests started to arrive the place was not completely set up. We had to help the staff to get the tables set up. The room that was provided did not have a key, the area guests walked through was strewn in litter, bar was not set up on time, dinner was served late and list goes on! DO NOT book this place if you want to have peace of mind on the day of your event. We insisted on speaking to the owner/chairman but we were not given their contact number. I hope the owner reads this review and reaches out if they want to make things better for their business.

Not recommended at all. This place does not value customer satisfaction and so called manager cannot arrange even buffet properly. provided a different menu than the ordered one with dirty plates. Skipped serving Ice-coffee even though it has been paid already. Place is not cleaned enough for events and they did not even bother to wash windows. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE AND SPOIL YOUR EVENT!!

Totally Thotupala provided good & friendly service for sucsuse my engagement function. Absolutely beautiful place & foods were also good.

Excellent experience with family day out. Though we had small team they serve us very well. Worth for the price. We had full vegetarian food as we requested. Enjoyed lot.

Bad service..terrible management.untrustworthy staff.. We booked a room to stay right after our wedding ceremony .unfortunately the rooms were dilapidated and no water 😓faced many complications.

The scenery is very stunning,however the service was absolutely repulsive. On December 23,2023, they ruined our fun outing. We left to find the nearest one in order to make our journey a success after they squandered an hour on the site.it is not advisable to visit Happy and cool outing.

My friend got married there 2 days ago and it was the worst experience! The service was terrible and they were majorly understaffed. They promised so many things for the wedding but didn't even deliver the bare minimum. The place was not maintained and the rooms given were terrible! As soon as you open the room you get a very unpleasant smell and it super dusty. The beds were horrible and the doors don't even lock properly. This was the same room that was offered for the honeymoon as well! The food that was ordered was served late (At 9.30pm!) during the wedding and they kept the guests waiting. Out of all the items that they ordered they failed to deliver two of the main dishes saying that their gas was over. Even after complaining so much there was no higher authority to take responsibility. The staff were also caught drinking during the wedding. The napkins on the table were wet & discoloured! If you ever want to plan an event or a wedding please keep away from this place as it is not worth it. They will promise you everything and deliver nothing.

We were able to organize our event as per our idea. Staff also were very friendly.We got a lot of support from MR.Kumara. He always discussed with us and organized the event according to our needs.
