Honestly one of the most versatile family friendly, cultural parts of the Gold Coast. If for nothing else, we can be proud of this place and say we live on the Gold Coast because in this distant, remote, disconnected part of the world, On Sunday mornings we have a market. In summers we have a place to swim free from waves. We have a place to BBQ (4 available). We have a place that hosts the film festival and regularly shows international movies while serving excellent wine (cinema at HOTA). We have a place that turns into a family friendly bar and music on Friday nights at the lawn (outside cinema). We have a place that provides regular family friendly free entertainment at the outdoor stage. We have a place where the kids can learn about lego and play around while the parents can appreciate art. We have HOTA!

I recently attended a Prep school meet up and had no idea this place even existed, let alone the quality of the facilities available for everyone to enjoy. There is ample parking available at the front and sides of HOTA, and 4hrs free parking is available on weekends. There's a bike track, walking tracks that connect to Surfer's Paradise, a BBQ area, playground area with lots of things that children can play with which is also secure and fenced, very clean toilets and changerooms, showers, and a massive lake which you can go swimming in- water was very nice temperature and even had lots of fish swimming around and jumping out of the water. Nice sandy area at the edge of the water for kids to play and put down a towel. Highly recommend if you live anywhere in the Gold Coast area to check this out. The renovations were the best thing to ever happen to the GC Arts Centre. HOTA is such a great green space with lots of experiences for everyone. Accessible and kept clean and tidy. Really lovely space!

👍👍 On the beautiful goldcoast spit. Crystal clear waters and the best sand in the world, this place is better than waikiki any day!!. Lovely place to take the kids for a swim and lunch at a sheltered beach. The wildlife is amazing, and so is the sea life. Keep an eye out for dolphins, too. B...
