On 28th of May 2023 we visited Ness Botanical Gardens. We had been there before a number of years ago, so it was time for another visit. I really like Ness gardens, parking is easy, and buying our tickets only took a minute or two. There is also an outdoor nursery where you can buy plants at very reasonable prices. It's best to follow the map to see the most of the gardens. And there is plenty to see, from colorful borders, a large pond with Carp, a couple of waterfalls, and a small Woods with mainly Bamboo. If you like wild meadows they are there also. There are laid lawns with different specimens of Rose shrubs. Of special interest is a small neolithic settlement (a round hut made of straw and wood) and a circle of standing stones. The two friendly gentlemen from Liverpool University explained that they were comparing different types of wood that would have been burned inside the hut. Certain types may have caused health risks for those people living in the hut(s). There is a Cafe inside the visitors center where you can enjoy a light meal, or Tea and cakes.

They didn't give the disabled ticket to my 14 year old child, nor did I as an escort. A premium fee was charged without asking. Nice place but much more couples nicer and free. I don't think it was worth the price.

Nice for a walk but I expected more to be here to see, especially flowers / plants. Visited many places like this before however, this one is unfortunately one I'd likely not return to. Expensive entry fee to walk around some grass and woodland. Map was awful, couldn't tell where you were on it as routes not marked out well on the paths. Visited the restrooms, 2/5 cubicles were out of order and not the best cleanliness. Overall, it is a nice walk, food fresh air but nothing I couldn't get elsewhere for free.

If you want to connect to nature and enjoy a day in the outdoors Ness Gardens is fantastic. Stroll through the gardens for hours and bask in the sun or relax in the shade. Lots to see and do! The cafe does a great afternoon tea. There is also gift shop and small garden centre where you can buy plants. Parking is free and right outside the visitors centre. Entrance fee was £7.50 each. We always pay at the till in the visitor centre but you can book online. This option also allows to gift aid £0.75 to the gardens. No dogs allowed.

We had a wonderful day out. The gardens are of course a sight worth seeing, beautifully set out. Walking around is well catered, for all abilities, with gradual sloping paths, and more challenging steep paths and steps if you're up for a challenge. Wheelchair access is good, and disabled facilities are clean and pleasant. There is a good gift shop and tasty cafe to revive yourself after a good walk.

Some interesting herbaceous plants and lovely specimen trees but although it's nice to see wild places in gardens I think Ness needs maybe different management to help the few but enthusiastic gardeners tackle the invasive weeds that are taking over. The area for weddings is pretty well looked after but stray from there and you feel the staff are overwhelmed. The overall vistas are stunning and I loved my day there. Hard work is being done. ...bring on direction

We called in for somewhere to stretch our legs on the way home from a holiday in Wales. Stunning place to visit especially on a sunny day, there was a wedding on when we were there which meant we couldn't access all the garden nor use the cafe which was a shame. £20 for a family which is reasonable.

Excellent quiet gardens, with lots to see. The Rock Garden is extensive and the Water Gardens are picturesque. There are several marked viewpoints throughout incl of the River Dee A few paths and the children's play area were not accessible for maintenance during our visit. Great cafe offering a wide selection of options. Concessions available incl students and BLC holders. Highly recommended.
