Overall, it was a great experience from the time I entered the restaurant until I left. I started with a nice glass of Tattinger Champaign and had the opportunity to chat with "the Duchy," who is the well styled hostess. She explained the ideas and history behind the restaurant theme. It was a nice conversation, and as I was dining alone, welcomed. They start the service by bringing out two types of bread with salted butter. Both breads were nice - potato bread and bread with apple and black pudding (sausage). I selected the steak tartar as my starter. The meat was very good quality, and the mix of ingredients was tasty. For the main course, I chose the beef rib, which was accompanied by a tomato salad. The steak was very well cooked and seasoned - which was a first for me in Germany. For the desert, it was black cherries with a warm chocolate cake and sunflower ice cream. All was good, especially the ice cream. This restaurant is expensive and a bit of an indulgence, but it used local top quality ingredients and was exceptional. I would certainly recommend it.

Dinner at the Duchy with a couple of friends, fantastic, professional service. Food presentation was great, and the taste was even better. Pricing was as expected for the location and quality of the food and service. No rush or sense of urgency to get through the courses allowing plenty of time to enjoy the food and conversation.

Das The Duchy I'm Breitenbacher Hof ist meiner Meinung nach zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt (November 23) eines der besten Restaurants Düsseldorfs. Die Speisen sind durchweg von höchster Qualität und der Service ist ebenfalls hervorragend! Wer das nötige Kleingeld mitbringt ist hier bestens versorgt und aufgehoben! Immer wieder gerne.

Es war ein wundervoller 1. Hochzeitstag für meine Frau und mich. Da ich vorab einen Hinweis gegeben habe, wurde ein schöner Tisch ausgesucht und dekoriert. Außerdem wurde uns vom Personal zum besonderen Tag gratuliert. Der Service ist sehr gut und nicht aufdringlich. Eher locker und familiär. Für ein Kind am Nebentisch gab es extra Smarties vom Service. Für uns gab es am Ende ein extrem leckeres Dessert mit Glückwunschen. Dieses wurde nicht berechnet! Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen waren auch reichlich (hatte ich so gar nicht erwartet). Es gab zudem leckeres Brot zum Essen, was immer wieder aufgefüllt wurde. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. 🙂

Ein bemerkenswerter Abend im Restaurant The Duchy. Nach unserem sehr freundlichen und angenehm persönlichen Empfang wurden wir an unseren Tisch begleitet. Wir erhielten daraufhin eine detaillierte Einführung und Erklärung der Speisekarte. Die Getränke und Speisen erreichten uns immer im perfekten Takt. Rundum ein unvergesslicher Abend der nicht hätte besser sein können. Die Speisen haben höchste Qualität, was sich im Geschmack bemerkbar macht. Großes Lob an die Küche, da man die Leidenschaft und Mühe zu schmecken meint! Es herrscht eine herzliche Stimmung im ganzen Team wodurch eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre entsteht. Herzlichen Dank an Umud, der uns einen unvergleichlichen Service geboten hat und den Abend, zu all dem positiven, zusätzlich bereicherte. Schlussendlich hatten wir einen sehr gelungenen Abend mit exquisitem Essen und einer beispiellosen Atmosphäre. Wir werden ganz sicher wiederkommen. :)

Great ambience and friendly staff, amazing for a night out and recommend it. The only reason i am giving 4 stars is because i ordered the steak and i felt like even though the taste was great, it needed more searing around it, my husband loved it but i didnt. All in all it was a great experience though

Hier kommt jeder verwöhnte Gaumen auf seine Kosten! Exzellente Küche auf hohem handwerklichen Niveau mit ebenso exzellenten Service immer herzlich, professionell und charmant. Nachhaltigkeit, Regionalität und Bio wird hier ganz groß geschrieben und von Herzen gelebt.

Wir sind zum Lunch zwischen den Feiertag im Duchy gewesen, um dem Einkaufsstress zu entgehen. Der äußerst aufmerksame Service und die tolle Karte haben das perfekt erfüllt. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns über die „Nachhaltigkeitsbroschüre“ auf den Tischen, in denen mal direkt nachlesen kann, was gerade auf dem Teller vor einem steht. Gerne wieder!

All in all a splendid experience! Delicious and beautifully presented food, great ambience and attentive staff. It's a perfect place to take a date or celebrate special occasions.

I'd like to give it 4.5 stars. Great food, excellent service. Wine service was a bit odd, as they did not open the bottle at the table (they have an incredible wine list though). The lights also seemed rather bright for a fine dining establishment. Nonetheless, an overall positive experience.

Das Duchy ist das Restaurant des Breidenbacher Hof‘s, einem Luxushotel in Düsseldorf. Fast möchte man sagen, das Ambiente ist dementsprechend: sehr gediegen, eher altbacken. In Tripadvisor war das Duchy an Nummer eins in Düsseldorf, die Karte las sich sehr gut, und wir gehen ja wegen dem Essen hin und das war wirklich Klasse. Meine Frau hatte Austern und einen Oystetshot als Vorspeise, beide angeblich sehr gut (ich mag Auszern nicht und verlasse mich da auf ihr Urteil). Ich hatte zunächst das Sommerceviche vom Wolfsbarsch. Leider mit sehr viel Gurke (ich mag Gurken nicht und sie standen nicht auf der Karte). Das ist natürlich Pech, abgesehen von der Gurke war das Ceviche aber hervorragend. Genauso wie im zweiten Gang die Hummersuppe mit Papaya und die gebrannte Gefügelleber Creme brullee. Auch sehr gut waren die Short Ribs mit Terryakisauce. Eher normal dagegen die Lachsforelle auf einer Kohlrabisauce. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Erlebnis, mit einer sehr phantasievollen Küche, Die für uns zuständige Dame Sophie war sehr freundlich und jederzeit bemüht uns einen schönen Abend zu machen, was ihr auch gelang.

The food were okay. The saff did a great job. Very professional. The chef and the owner roamed around and talked to the guests which was amazing and cozy.

Wir fahren heute zum ersten Mal beim Restaurant Duchy und sind schwer begeistert. Dort angekommen wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen, uns wurden die Jacken abgenommen und dann wurden wir zu unserem Tisch gebracht. Da ich im Vorfeld als Hinweis gegeben habe, dass der Tisch romantisch gedeckt sein soll, da wir heute unseren Jahrestag haben, war der Tisch wirklich auch sehr romantisch mit roten Rosenblättern eingedeckt, vielen lieben Dank dafür❤️ Die Kellner waren außerordentlich nett. Wir hatten das Hirschragout und das Wiener Schnitzel und ich hatte noch nie in meinem Leben so ein leckeres, knuspriges Wiener Schnitzel! Das Hirschragout meiner Frau war ebensfalls weltklasse:) Der Nachtisch (das Sorbet und der Beans Brownie) war ebenfalls herausragend, ich hatte noch nie so eine leckere Schokolade. Und das Highlight für uns: Mehrere Angestellte haben uns zum Jahrestag gratuliert, was wir sehr nett fanden❤️ Am Ende kam noch Frau Duchy zu uns an den Tisch und hat sich vorgestellt und sehr nett mit uns geredet. Vielen lieben Dank für den wundervollen Abend, wir kommen gerne wieder:)

Fantastic dining in Dusseldorf, the location, decor, staff and food all make this a must when visiting Dusseldorf. A friendly welcome and great service, variety of food choices on menu. We had a starter, main and dessert. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. The pâté had a glaze like a crème brûlée and was very special, for main we had beef ribs best we have ever eaten! Highly recommended for a special treat.

It was a perfect location for date night. The staff is pleasant. We ordered the lobster soup, chicken salad, short ribs and lobster thermidore. The lobster soup and short ribs Angus beef was really good but the other 2 dishes were okayish. I would still go again if I have to, to try something new!

Fine dining at its best! A reason to visit Dusseldorf again. We made an online reservation in advance, where we mentioned our dietary restrictions & food allergies. The moment we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed by Mr. Urs, who knew our exact preferences as if we had been friends for life. It's plausible that the Duchy follows the farm-to-table concept focusing on sustainability. Like Jamie Oliver says: "Real food doesn't have ingredients. Real food is ingredients." Mr. Urs helped us choose the best courses and drinks. I'm on medication (nothing serious) and should avoid alcohol for some time, therefore I had to abstain from having a glass of wine. It wasn't a problem for Mr. Urs. He offered a lovely alternative to wine: some fancy ice tea that looked like wine and had a very delicate taste. The Homegrown Potato Soup, as well as Handmade Tagliarini and Regional Salmon Trout are what we enjoyed the most. Refreshing sorbet was the final act of the evening. All we can say is Thank You and we'll be back again.

This is an absolute Gem of a restaurant. The food was fantastic, we had the sashimi salmon along with the beef tartare as appetizers, Quail and Viennese Schnitzel along with the Apple Quince for dessert…All were fantastic!! Best part of this place besides everything was the service. Our waiter Erik and the whole staff of at least 5 were extremely personal, attentive and genuinely interested in what they delivered. I would come back to Germany just to stay at the hotel and eat at this restaurant. Off the Charts!!

Lovely place, located on the 1st floor of a hotel. Nice view into Düsseldorf. Food was very tasty, difficult too make a choice. Staff is friendly, attentive but not too present.

We went there for my sister's bday yesterday. It was a great experience. The service was amazing!!! The food was delicious. And everybody who worked there seemed to really wanna make us feel welcomed and happy. We will definitely come back and I can definitely recommend this place

Great service, great taste, ambiance and knowledge. We were a larger group and they were great with the young child we had with us. Oysters, caviar, bisque, everything was excellent, meat was well prepared, the champagne, riesling, chateau-neuf-du-pape, were amazing. Desserts/cheeses were grand. I had a great experience in this fine dining restaurant. I had the original German Schnitzel dish. The food was delicious. Server was so attentive which made the experience even more pleasant.

Upmarket, grand and special. Service is friendly not too formal. High quality sophisticated menu options. Good for gluten free.

First off all, the hostess and waiters did a amazing job. Very nice, remembered everything that we mentioned in the reservation. From the first moment by opening the door till the last drinks we ordered. Great ambience, funny small jokes in between and very helpful. The food was very good as well. To be honest, the meat and soup was great, really perfect. The fish was very good, but not so special. Still very good tho and I only suggest more the meat dishes. Would really recommend this place!!

Absolutely stunning place for a romantic dinner with delicious food, warm services and excellent ambience.

Asked for two medium fillet steaks- both were very rare. Sent back to kitchen and again they came out rare. Not good enough for €69 each without sides. The waiter was nice but the place is very understaffed so service was not good. We had finished our starters before wine was delivered. If a mark for two coats €360 (without dessert) the standard should be much higher. I can’t understand how this place is so highly rated … 2 stars is generous

Excellent food and amazing service. The service people go extra mile to make everyone feel special at the table. We joked and laughed all the time and had a really nice time overall. You can also see that the place is famous among locals as well.The place was busy during lunch but the service people were managing every single person very attentively from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Could recommend this place only for coffee/cake Far away from good cousin restaurant: main courses are too oily,too salty,fried,buratta salat includes anything but buratta(which is also 1/2 buratta😂) Service is nice but only if you are satisfied with your food,all compliments are just ignored or immediately doubted by stuff😅
