I spent barely ten minutes there and left because I felt unwelcome, even though it was supposed to be an African pub. The gentleman at the counter told me he was closing soon even though Google introduced it as a pub that closes at 5am. His reason was that it was a Sunday. Then, a woman antagonised me for washing my hands at a basin because that was the ladies. Given that this is Europe, I was taken aback. Aside from that the place hardly offered anything impressive. I reported to the guy at the counter, poured my drink and left the place, even though my decision was to relax at my trip from Cologne central was about six hours off.

The door to the toilet 🚻 needs to be painted and the lighting was very poor. I hope someone tells them to renovate

I was speechless when I was presented with this Soup packed In a Nylon. Decency is beyond this restaurant.

Quite basic but practical for the type of cuisine and clientele around the area. I had deep fried Tilapia and Ugali... an East African classic delicacy around the shores of Lake Victoria. There was lots of other dishes from other African countries... Mostly west and east Africa. O was glad they had a screening process to ensure patrons were either tested or vaccinated against Covid.

The food was well made. The plantain is a good portion with the beef stew, egusi and vegetables was nice, although it was made with spinach. Pepper soup with goat meat had the right flavor, and spice level was perfect. Jollof rice is only served on Saturdays, and it tends to be crowded during the weekend. The restaurant interior and ventilation can be improved. You will definitely smell like African food when you leave the restaurant. Also the waiter was really friendly and gave a detailed explanation about the meal.

Really good food but slightly overpriced. The plantain and stew and the grilled fish gave a good taste of home. Location is obscure as it is below main level but the food was worth it. Restaurant doesn’t offer receipts which made it difficult to expense on business trips. Would return once in a while.

Had the yummiest African Tilapia amd plantain. The portions were generous and more than enough for one person. However the sodas were too tiny with one gulp its over needing you 4 bottles to feel refreshed. Please put up a sign to show that you are located at the basement because we looked for the place yet the map showed we had arrived and indeed we were at Ebertplatz 1. Thank you

The food is very delicious. Little money for so much delicacy. I strongly recommend it if you want to have the real African experience. NB: They don't take credit card. Only cash - The African style. Lol
