The hotel boasts a fantastic location, and our room was quite comfortable. We were also pleased with the breakfast offering. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a couple of significant issues. On our first night, the air-conditioning was malfunctioning and despite our complaints, it was not repaired until the following day. This led to a very uncomfortable, sleepless night. Furthermore, on our last night, the main floor was converted into a nightclub, and the overpowering bass permeated the entire hotel, leading to another sleepless night. These incidents negatively affected two out of our five nights at the hotel. While the location and amenities were good, the disruptions to our rest were considerable. We recommend that the hotel address these issues to provide a more comfortable stay . Another aspect that disrupted our stay was the inconsistency in breakfast hours. On one occasion, we misunderstood the altered timings and ended up taking our breakfast before the dining area officially opened. This led to a rather uncomfortable experience where we were lectured by a waitress. It was an unfortunate situation that could have been avoided with clearer communication and a more understanding .

Just few steps from Central Station. Main Entrance has a covered door, so easy to miss, I walked around the corner looking for the entrance door. Morning breakfast was good, the room was large enough, and the newly renowned design and furnitures.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Plenty of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the WC. The laundry units are free of charge! Drying times are incredibly long, and there is a water condenser in the dryer unit that needs to be emptied, which is typical of European dryers, as there is no external venting. Right across from train station, and close to great restaurants and shops. A full breakfast was included.

Summary of our experience: decent service, nice rooms, average decent European hotel breakfast. I shaved Stars because the AC had a problem. A very long story short: pretty sure it already had a problem and developed another one during our two nights. I absolutely could not have stayed longer as warm as it was. I spoke with the front desk the first morning and they shrugged me off. The morning of checkout I told them it had a maintenance problem.

Nice, modern hotel within a 10-15 minute walk of the city center. Service was very friendly and rooms were nice with all expected amenities. Has parking under the hotel (door is a little hidden across the side walk) for 30 euro. Has a hotel bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Would definitely stay here again as a decently affordable hotel near the city center.

Great location across from the central station and within walking distance to the old city. The rooms are modern and clean, and the staff is friendly. The only minus was that lights in the corridor don't turn on immediately when exiting the rooms and you walk a bit in the dark (not so when exiting from the elevator). A great choice for a very good price.

Directly opposite the station - you couldn’t be in a better position if you arrive late or have an early morning departure by train, and the S1 & S8 lines will get you to/from the airport in about 45 minutes. In terms of tourism you’re only a 15 minute walk from the Old Town and there are trains nearby for other attractions. The most important test for me of a hotel is the greeting at reception when you first arrive and considering we got in after a delayed flight at about 1am the guy behind the desk couldn’t have been nicer. The room was fairly standard, a tad bland, but perfectly fine and had everything that we needed. Importantly for me, sound proofing was excellent. The only slight downer was breakfast - both mornings the very cheery breakfast crew struggled to replace food which, given the number of guests, vanished as soon as it appeared and it was a bit of a bun fight. The basic problem is the buffet area and seating area are relatively small and can’t cope with the number of people who might descend at one time. In theory it’s a good spread but you have to be politely forceful and ask for more of everything to be replaced constantly. The only really bad thing was the scrambled eggs which had obviously been made when the buffet opened and then just sat there so they had a really unpleasant crust on them so people just opened the lid, glowered, then rapidly closed it again - those eggs really need replacing every 30 minutes or more frequently during breakfast. But that’s a first world problem and also very minor in the overall scheme of things. All the staff we encountered were lovely and I would recommend this place and probably stay again if I visited Munich.

Hotel overall: - this hotel should be downgraded to a 1 star, this is not to Marriot standards. - more like a hostel and loud party on weekends. - lobby is a mess. Can't use it as a waiting area while waiting for the train across the street. They play excessive loud music on weekends!!! - hotel has only two elevators for 7 floors - front desk is disorganized, papers everywhere. Cleanliness: debatable - found hair in the washroom upon arrival Room: bed a bit lumpy but spacious and blanket is warm Location: good as a base of day trips since it's right across the Munich Hbf

Generally excellent value in a reasonably central though very dodgy neighbourhood. Rooms are large and cleanish (bathroom could be cleaner)… when you arrive. Service, meanwhile, ranges from very helpful to atrocious: we were out all day and the room was not cleaned upon our return. Thus, before dinner, we asked to have this done only to be advised it was our fault for not asking for rooms to be cleaned (I was surprised Marriott bonvoy now had a “ask for cleaning” policy). Unsurprisingly, the l arrogant young lady in the fur coat at reception (I had to ask to see several times until she bothered to come) did not arrange for our room to be cleaned and 3 hours after we returned from dinner, nothing was done. I likewise asked her to make a brunch reservation for the following day, about which we heard nothing. It did not seem like the was keen on working in her job at all and saw herself more as a customer than staff. To be fair, the other staff has been most helpful and accommodating, from bar to reception. And the live music at the bar is a very nice touch. At checkout, super friendly staff made up for the experience by gifting us one drinks bill, so excellently handled. In short, good value for large rooms in a very dodgy central location with mixed reception staff and “self service” when it comes to having your room cleaned. Super friendly staff with the exception of one.

Stayed here due to reviews on TA and Google. The hotel room itself was good. Nice size comfortable bed and bathroom. The service was not that great at the reception desk. The breakfast cost $20 euros and from what I saw was not that great. Plus, if you just wanted a cup coffee they said you had to pay for it unless you paid for the breakfast. What... However, the main thing is that even though it is convenient(across the street)to the central station, the area around the station is not that nice. Did not feel to safe walking to dinner at night in this area. Lot of drug use and homelessness around Central Station. Would recommend staying near Marienplatz if you want to be downtown or somewhere outside of downtown to feel safer.

I stayed here for a work trip. Clean and well presented rooms. Good breakfast. Very quiet rooms despite being next to the station (the walls are well sound proofed). Great location for sightseeing. Helpful staff at the desk.

The ALoft offers all over the world the same, modern fresh design. My room was nice but the floor was spotty/ dirty. Also, I actually walked by a couple of times as there as a construction fence and I wasn't sure if it wad actually open or not. There is a big workout area with many equipment. As the lobby / bar is currently redesigned no bar was open at the moment.

This place really caught me by surprise. Everything was clean and modern. The staff are exceptional and really go the extra mile to help and to make you feel welcome. They were more than happy to hold onto our luggage so that we could see the sites. I would be very happy to come back here again and again. It is also very convenient being right across the road from Central Station and only a 20 minute walk into the heart of Munich.

Very busy hood, if you are easily distributed by cars and people. The rooms are very quiet though. 15-20 min walking distance to old town, etc. Finding food around the hotel is not a problem, as there are almsot every option.

I stayed here from April 21-24, 2023. The hotel rooms and facilities were average. It was nice to have a room with two reasonably large beds. The breakfast was average or below average compared to other hotels I've visited in Germany.

The hotel was conveniently located right across the street from the train station and was within walking distance to most attractions. Also, they had a washing room we were able to do the laundry in. I liked the hotel with the exception of the bar. We actually had a voucher for 2 free drinks but the bartender was rude and unwelcoming so we ended up leaving without redeeming our free drinks… Also, the host for the breakfast area seemed confused, gave us incorrect information that contradicted the reception desk, and the breakfast itself was very basic. Additionally, when I booked this stay, I did it with my Marriott app as I normally do, and I was able to see my stay on the app like normal. However, after I checked in, this stay disappeared from the app. I was told it might show up later after check out, which is unusual in itself, but I waited. And I know this is an unusual process since I stay with Marriott many times a year as I travel quite frequently. It has been 2 weeks since I checked out and I never saw it on my app again, and I reached out to Marriott Bonvoy customer service for this missing stay so that this stay can count towards my Marriott Bonvoy Status and I am having to go through a hassle because they cant find it anywhere. Even though I have a physical bill where I paid with my credit card, a confirmation number, etc. Pretty inconvenient…

Stay from 24 to 26 Feb 2023. Have a very comfortable stay with strategic location across the Munich Central Station. Room and hotel facilities are clean & well maintained. Mr. Sascha in the Front Desk really represent a true good & caring ambassador of Aloft Munich. He is fun, care, attentive and smile all the times when interact with guests. He make us feel at home and Aloft Munich will be our firsr choice when visit Munich again in the future

If you are in Munich for a short stay, the location of this ALoft is perfect as it rt next to the Hbf and downtown. It's convenient as it's a perfect place to disembark from the S-bahn from the airport (~41min ride) and a 15mim walk to Old Town

My wife and I didn’t even stay here, but our experience with the staff was incredible. We were struggling to find bathrooms and water after leaving Oktoberfest, and the staff was so incredibly kind and helpful to us.

A practical, no frills hotel which meets all the needs for a great location, good value for money, known hotel chain - so a consistent level of quality. All in all, if you are looking for a hotel which all the essential needs - Aloft ticks all the boxes. True to its brand name and positioning.

best hotel experience in Munich. strong wifi. but no charger for electric vehicles. simple power socket would suffice for an one night or two stay to explore Munich. breakfast buffet was decent. room was clean and comfy.

Great location right across the station. Rooms are modern but rather basic. Upgrade to junior suite indicated in the app didn't materialize - ended up in a regular room. Simple breakfast. Would stay again but not for 180€.

Arrived almost 11pm, greeted by a very pleasant Sasha who checked us in quickly, gave us our thank you gift drinks from the bar, answered our questions & made suggestions on where we could find food so late. Location is right across from the train station & tram stop, but we heard nothing. Room was clean, quiet & cool. Bed was comfy. Shower was hot. Slept in a bit and started our first day in Munich from a convenient, Central location. Would definitely stay here again.

Huge rooms, very clean and king beds for us tall guys. Located across from the train station which has "that element" not all the great hotels in Munich are along this sketchy area. While the people look "low rent", it's actually a very safe area. Walk up old Town and that's where the sketch ends. Ha ha. Seriously everything about this property was perfect. Even the breakfast had a huge assortment of warm and cold foods. The underground parking garage is clean and perfect for us driving visitors.

I am unable to remember his name, but the man behind the counter at midnight 8/23 was the most helpful employee I have ever encountered. I definitely was a lot to deal with and appreciate his patience with a drunk American. Incredible place to stay !!

The hotel is located right in front of Munich Central station. The area nearby hotel is a cultural melting pot packed with oriental grocery stores, shisha bars and kebab places. So, worth to explore. Despite busy streets around rooms are quite and spacious. The only issue is breakfast - super small area and very limited options.

We stayed here for 10 days. Hotel and staff are perfect in all ways (clean, big rooms, toiletries etc). We chose this hotel instead of an apartment because of the communal spaces (courtyard, bar etc). However, the Bar was out of service and there was loud construction work in the courtyard almost every day, so that was also inaccessible. This should have been made clear upon or before booking!! I'm sure the hotel will be perfect once all their construction is done.

Really disappointed as an ambassador member. They charged me for breakfast over a few days (at 48 €) without telling me and after I paid my invoice (which did not include breakfast). In addition, as an ambassador member I told them on two occasions that I will take free breakfast with my status rewards. The gym is weak and many weights were missing (highest weight was 18kg dumbbell and no 10kgs). One of two elevators was down my entire stay which could mean a 5 minute wait at times. Overall, I’ve stayed in over 100 Marriott hotels and this was one was far below Marriott standards. The only positives are that the location is beside the main train station, and they have free laundry facilities on site. I would not stay here again.

Poor service, not up to standards. All around the zone plenty of hotels available of same category. We decided for this one not being the best rated because is member of bonvoy marriott. I booked thru the app bonvoy to avoid any inconvenience at the time of checkin. On arrival, staff was unable to find the booking. Once issue solved, we were not recognized in our bonvoy status. When noted out to them all the benefits i should have (they were not very aware of them), they started with the usual excuse: hotel full, etc. Not to stardards…

Arrived in Munich by train at 5pm. Walked out of the station, across the road, and into the hotel. Modern, impeccably clean, and quiet (which surprised me given its location ) Very convenient for 06:45 train the following morning

Best location in front of the main train station. Great hospitality of the front dest stuff. Will be back...!

The staff went over and above to be helpful, the location is great and the room overall was clean and comfortable. I had a delay in my departure and the front desk staff and manager went out of their way to help me. Thank you to them again!! I would stay here again for comfort and location and above all the kindness shown to me.

A nice space and well located, right in the center of things. But don't expect TV service, at least ours didn't work. We were informed they (apparently none were working!) were out of service. And no music in the bar downstairs, which was weird. But the staff were all very nice, although not particularly knowledgeable. We asked about local restaurants for breakfast but the desk guy didn't have a clue. Aren't they required to know these things? But the worst piece of misinformation was when we were directed to the soccer stadium. THE WRONG STADIUM! Again, aren't they supposed to know these things? (Naturally, by the time we got to the ticket gate of the right one, it was sold out!! And don't get me started on the lack of signs in the stadium!)

Nice hotel and room, but beware if you are staying here soon (writing this as of 6/15/22) and relying on laundry that the washing machines are all currently out of service with no date in sight for them to be fixed. A real bummer when you book the hotel specifically for the laundry facilities, and there aren’t many other last minute laundry options besides sink laundry or spending hours of your vacation at a laundromat (FYI Aloft will do your laundry, but prices are high with a single pair of socks costing €3.50).

Stylish hotel with nicely furnished rooms. We spent a weekend here with our daughter and slept comfortably in a room with two large beds. We chose the hotel for its central location as we arrived by train and just had to cross the street to get there. Old town Munich is a short walking distance away. Breakfast was good as well and the staff was mostly very friendly.

  • 5/5 Brad K. 1 year ago on Google
Convenient location, clean rooms, trendy bar & lounge. Breakfast was decent but strangely they make you pay extra for water. There is a small amount of candy/snacks/beer for purchase in the lobby as well. Located directly across the street from the Hauptbahnhof (central train station).

  • 1/5 Victor L. 1 year ago on Google
I paid for 2 double beds which clearly says it in my itinerary and when I get there they didnt have any available. I had to share a bed with a friend which i do not like doing at all. They offered a roll out bed but there was no room to put it. Then i could barely hear or speak to the front desk guy because of the loud party they had in the lobby.

Aloft is a great place to begin your travels in Germany. Directly across from the train station in Munich. There you will find a friendly staff, comfortable, clean and air conditioned accommodations. I highly recommend regardless of whether or not you are a Marriott member.

  • 5/5 Didi D. 1 year ago on Google
The location can be defined as dodgy, but it's the same with every really big city. It's located near 5 dunner places if you like these and just across from the train station if you need to come by train into the city. Rooms are big. Be aware the gym was closed when we were there and there was no warning on the site, so worth asking.

  • 5/5 Lital A. 1 year ago on Google
Exactly what we expected from Aloft in the center of Munich. Spacious rooms. Great service. Breakfast is decent. The only complaint: the gym is closed due to construction and we weren't informed in advance about it.

A very pleasant stay i would say..i was with my family there.. receptionist are so supportive, friendly and helpful. Location is so accessible! There is a billiard and some games where the kids could have a bit of fun in the hotel while we could relax. Rooms are clean!! I would recommend this place and will definitely consider coming back again soon!

  • 5/5 Lisa L. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent location, just cross the street you could get to the central station. Room is big and cosy and the stuffs are very friendly. The laundry room is free for usage with our own detergent (or just buy the pod at the reception). We really enjoy our 3 night stays here.

Nice staff. Great location. Very good breakfast. Super comfortable beds and pillows. Second time I’ve stayed here and not been able to enjoy the free arrival drinks. Next time maybe I’ll get triple ;-)
