Very cute and comfortable Swabian restaurant. The building alone is gorgeous! The food is incredible and they have a lovely selection of drinks. This place is good for a full on meal or just a afternoon drink with friends. Dogs are allowed and are adored by the staff. We love coming here!

nice and cozy atmosphere. Very authentic interior with lots of locals. The food did not disappoint. My steak was precisely made and the side was very good as well. The acoustics are not great so may be hard for a large group of 5+.

This restaurant is elegant, historic and so cozy that we ditched the rest of the plans for Esslingan and stayed here.. the food is delicious and their desserts in particular are something to be on everyone's wishlist to try. The feeling at the end of the meal was true satisfaction..

Best German food, especially the Schwabisch cuisine. The atmotshpere is so great, just like going back to the 15th centuries. Highly recommend.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!! Where do I even start, nestled in the heart of the beautiful medieval town of Esslingen, delicious traditional food with a great variety of options for vegetarians! The interior is beautiful and it transports you to another era and the service is super friendly and nice! The elderly gentleman who is the owner of the place was a lovely host and so were the amazing staff of this place even for non German speaking customers! I can’t wait to go back and it’s truly a gem 💎!! Thank you for such an awesome lunch ❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Wonderful Swabian food and atmosphere. I think you need a reservation to sit in the basement but it’s worth it. Would go back in a min.

Cozy, whimsical, off-the-beaten-path restaurant that's worth the trip. The attendants were quite nice and accommodating (I have to admit, being an Asian tourist can be off-putting at times). Unicorns everywhere as tipped off in a blog I read (have to find that again to give her credit). Comforting food--I would recommend not going solo so you can share the food and try out more dishes (and dessert!). Dinner must be a better experience since you get to dine in the cellars (I went there for lunch). Overall, it's a place I will go back to when I visit Germany again 😊

Such a great experience walking through the streets and to stumble upon this place. The service was great and accommodating for not speaking German. The food was phenomenal and just blew my mind. Savory, down to the last bite. Well worth the effort to come here.

There was no deer which was the main reason we visited the place but it didn't really matter after all. Amazing food, drinks and atmosphere. The service was nice and didn't hesitate to get straight to the point with suggestions. Would certainly visit again and recommend.

It has a rich heritage of 13th century old restaurants. They also have a history of 300 years of selling wine. I loved the architecture and the interior design. I tried the Swabian dish which was just amazing and the service was great. I visited on Thursday and the restaurant was quite crowded during our visit.

If you want to taste good quality German food, this is the place to go. Forget about sausages and have a great dinner inside an undergeound dinning room.

An amazing meal in a 700 year old wine cellar. Staff were excellent and managed an onion intolerance with ease. The waiter knew the composition of dishes and didn't have to bother questioning the chef! Brilliant atmosphere. Australian visitors should look for the kangaroo that's been in place for five years. A big thank you for a wonderful evening. While the restaurant handled our walk in, reservations are recommended.

Such a nice place in the middle of Esslingen 🥰 The service is so homely. Although it was a Friday night and pretty busy, the service staff made space for two of us to enjoy some dinner there. The food was amazing!!!! Totally worth the money, and the atmosphere compliments perfectly with the Schwaben cuisine. Will definitely go there — especially for special date nights and intimate dinners 💖

Old wooden building, didn't get to be in the wine cave but the upstairs was rustic and cozy. Food was nice, good beer and wine, friendly service.
