A very nice beautiful natural place with a beautiful lake and walking path. Equally beautiful in summers as well as winters. Can be easily reached by car or train. If coming by car get prepared to pay heavy parking charges. From railway station and parking lots lake is only 5 minutes walking distance. A small market with a lot of coo Koo clocks as main attraction for tourists. And if you are here don't forget to eat the Black Forest best special thing that's is Black Forest cake. The lake is beautiful you can take boat on rent and even there are spots for swimming so if you in summers don't forget to bring your swim costumes. There is nice garden and lake side walking path. If you are coming by car then the route is also very sceneric and wonderful. It gives pleasure to your eyes. Overall a nice and must visit place. Don't worry about toilets at parking lots free public clean toilets are available.

The Titisee was formed during the last ice age. Just 10,000 years ago, a glacier extended from the Feldberg to the present-day lake. The basins gouged out by the glacier and the terminal moraine now form the basin of Lake Titisee. The lake is 850 m above sea level, 2 km long, just under 1 km wide and approx. 40 m deep. Lake Titisee is perfect for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, pedaloing and for a stroll along the water front. Lake Titisee is located in the southern Black Forest approx. 30km east of Freiburg Size: approx. 2km long and 1km wide Facilities: swimming, wind-surfing, sailing, pedalo hire, sightseeing tours by pleasure boat

Lovely place. The water always calm, and in August they are warm and fun. Also the pedal boats are nice and not very expensive. Only 7 euros for half an hour. But need to be in a bit of shape to pedal. The streets near by the lake are wonderful and nice to walk in.

Tour on a boat seeing around the lake is really recommended. It's wonderful view where you could see the hilly black forest which is famous for its legend. The water in the lake is so dark. You will see small town here as well where you could get some souvenir before going home such as cuckoo clocks.

The place is great for relaxing and enjoying the weather, it quite pleasant to walk around the streets looking at the shops and the building. The lake is very clean, and I liked that they use electric boats not to harm the nature. Even the water in the lake is drinking quality. The down side is that restaurants closes early.

It was the most refreshing place in Europe toure. It is tinny village at black forest and it is famous for cuckoo clock. I have one cuckoo clock just beside of work desktop. It is beautiful village and we have experience german band performance by school children which give so much peace in eye. Thank you.

Whether you choose to stroll along its shores, go boating, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery, Lake Titisee provides a rejuvenating escape into nature's beauty. Ein schöner See im Schwarzwald. Allerdings wird er von Touristen überlaufen. Das ist dann weniger schön. Dementsprechend sind im Zentrum auch die Preise für's parken. Wegen dem ganzen Rummel nur 4 Sterne.

It is a smaller lake and it attracts lots and lots of people. The city is not prepared for such a huge number of vehicles as there was no parking and we had to circle for at least 30 minutes. Even the ones further away from the city were all full. We ended up parking in a residential area. It was very crowded, not sure if it is always like this on the weekends, but too many people for my taste. Restaurants and cafes were overflowing with people, tables were super hard to come by. Lines for paddle boats and other water vehicles were also very long, not worth the wait.

Beautiful scenic lake, with a lot of restaurants and shopping options. One can also avail the boating rides either in large cruises or paddle boats. For people having fishing license can also fish here. There are specific areas where people can also go for a swim in a barricade area. There are lot of parking options around the area. Also there is a hiking area near the lake. People can enjoy around the hiking in the black forest in the hills and enjoy the nice view of the lake as well.

Very nice! One can shop in the variety of stores. There is also areas where one can relax in the sun and go for a swim. The other great thing is one can walk around the lake but half of the way, one must walk in the side of the street.

Beautiful place for a boat ride or just to spend time around it. Lot of little shopping places around the lake. A good spread of restaurants to match your taste palette. We spent a whole day at the lake.

It is a nice place for going in a weekend. We went in November and there weren’t many tourists. The place is still great with November’s weather 🤗

  • 3/5 Liana 10 months ago on Google
Beautiful lake, great for boat pedalling, in my opinion a bit small for a bigger boat ride, if you are happy pedalling yourself of course :). But bigger boats as well as motor boats were also an option 15eur per hour for the pedalling one My issue was that the boat seats all in plastic were very uncomfortable for the back, really hard and hurting after one hour of pedalling. The water doesn’t seem clean enough to swim, but people were swimming from the shores. A few nice terraces on the side and hotels with a view.

Swimming in lake is great in the municipal swimbad (lido) area. The parking is a little frustrating as had to download app which didn't work. Lovely peaceful area for short trip in countryside

It's a nice place to visit. The place is very crowded, especially during weekends and public holidays. There are a lot of stores around to buy souvenirs and several restaurants to have a nice meal.

Absolutely beautiful stunning lake. Theres souvenir shops, restaurants and even some shopping stores too. Also, there are toilets in the shops or there is one near the entrance of the lake. You can walk around the lake and it will take approx 3hours. Theres boat riding (for a fee), atms and benches all around. Great place to spend half a day. There are public transportations, however, we drove there so no information from me on this. Overall, i highly recommend you visiting the Titisee.

Visiting Lake Titisee in autumn was an enchanting experience. The crisp air and tranquil ambiance made it a refreshing getaway. Highly recommended for those seeking natural beauty and a peaceful retreat. There are several shops where you can buy regional products and souvenirs. Some popular items include Black Forest cuckoo clocks, local crafts, and traditional German liquor. Don't forget to try and bring home some Black Forest ham or cake. Plenty of small boutiques around the lake offer unique keepsakes.

Titisee Lake can be reached by Train as well as personal vehicle. Reaching by private vehicle is better as the road to here is really amazing with green Fields and horses and cows along the way. In this area you would find a lot of souvenir shops as well as eating places. There is also a kookoo clock store with some amazing watches and a huge display of a moving clock that happens every hour

Perfect for a day trip. There are lots of hiking trails around the lake. We spent about an hour viewing the lake. There were boat rides that one can enjoy. The town around the lake is really beautiful and the train station is about 5-10mins walking distance.

Nice location. Very touristic. Quite a few people despite pandemic. Recommend a boat ride around the lake, and an ice cream at the ice cream parlour overlooking the lake.

  • 3/5 Melina C. 2 years ago on Google
Nice views and good walk along the lake. The town is nice. The only issue is that nothing is adapted for foreigners. Only German. Restaurants closes at 7pm!! So you need to have a extra early dinner.

Would be so perfect if the other side of the lake is accessible to public. Otherwise, it is a really beautiful scenery.

Beautiful lake. Town very touristy. Parking is a nightmare and fines are ridiculous! 20 Euros for 30 mins overdue. Not a welcoming town. Boat cruise was great.

Beautiful place to visit. I've rent an electric boat with my kids and we had great fun on the lake. Swimming from the boat is not allowed. If you want to swim I recommend the small beach on the North shore. Nice place, clean and free entrance. City is very touristic.

  • 5/5 Alok P. 1 year ago on Google
Don't take the conventional route to this place. Rather, try taking internal roads through the Black forest to reach this beautiful place. It's absolutely worth to be at this place. Immersion in nature. Sadly now there are lots of pvt becahes, but grab a good place to sit & chill

Camped for two nights at one of the camping sites next to Titisee. Though it was quite full we genuinely enjoyed it. Great hiking area as well and from the friendliest locals you'll ever meet. Looking forward to going there again.

One of the natural beauty of the Black Forest. A very small town, just enough to accommodate people who like to wander around the Nature. Prepare your daily activities properly, since the stores are closing quite early (around 18pm) and also some cafes. Restaurant could be open until 22 pm. But other than that there’s pretty much nothing. The nearest supermarket is around 4-6 km from the Lake starting point. If you plan to do the winter sport, it is a right place to stay. I would prefer to stay in Freiburg then do a one day trip to a small cities around.

Nice lake with high quality water. Boats can be rented and also guide tours are available. Tourist shops around the lake are opened also on Sundays. They have a wide selection of gifts. Ranging from local honey and jams to traditional clothes and cuckoo clocks. Also a wide selection of restaurants are available to choose from.
