👍 The memorial pavilion newly built in 2018 to commemorate the 1972 Munich tragedy repeatedly broadcasts live records of that year every day to warn future generations! It is only about 50 meters away from the old monument, and a few hundred meters away from the dormitory where the athletes were kill... People often mention Olympic, Munich, memorial,

In my opinion this place is heaven for skiers at Olympiaberg in Munich, every skier can find just the right slope. The highest hill in the city offers a variety of options for descending: gently descending slopes for everyone who wants to learn to ski and bobsled, and steep descents for those who like to fly across the snow. The Olympiapark München (English: Olympic Park Munich) in Munich, Germany, is an Olympic Park which was constructed for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Located in the Oberwiesenfeld neighborhood of Munich, the Park continues to serve as a venue for cultural, social, and religious events, such as events of worship. When the Olymiapark was planned for the XXth Olympic Games in 1972, the designers had the long-term needs in mind. In contrary to many olympic sites in other cities around the world, the different centers built for the olympics are still used and the Olympiapark has become one of Munich's major tourist attractions. A memorial to the Israeli victims of 1972 Olympic games. Many people walk past this memorial site and have no clue what happened in the Olympic Games of 1972. You can Google: "Connollystraße 31" to find the house where two of the athletes were murdered. I think its terrible there aren't signs directing you to these two memorials, this one and the stone on Connollystraße 31.

The mourning beam to commemorate the Olympic attack in Munich in 1972. The memorial bears the names of those killed. The monument seems too massive and not aesthetic to me.

Pedagogical and well documented memorial. It is worth taking time to read the biographies of the victims, it enlightens the history of the time being. The park around is also very pleasant to walk in.

An enormous piece of solid rock and engraved are the names of the Israeli participants of the Olympic Games who fell victim to the terrorist attacks by the so called "Black September". For 45 years it was the only memorial in the Olympiapark. Better this one than no one at all, it is absolutely inexpressive, since it is located just in front of the foundation of the Olympic Tent and looks like it's being a part of the fortification. Anybody who's walking by is doing this without noticing it at all.

...One of the modern olympic villages when it was built 1972, with nice buildings and green terraces with flowers, nice streets with waterfalls etc. Unfortunately, many sport fans remember this site, as the whole olympic games for the big massacre of Isreal olympic sportmen...

Sehr traurig was da 1972 geschehen ist.

In Hebräisch.
