Palais
Thermal
is
a
nicely
preserved
old
Therme
built
in
1742
to
replace
an
even
older
structure
built
in
the
16th
century.
Originally
built
for
the
use
by
the
prince,
it
was
expanded
to
add
baths
for
the
nobility,
the
citizens,
and
even
the
poor.
The
architecture
in
the
old
part
of
the
Therme
is
stunning.
Especially
the
moorish
Hall,
where
the
dining
area
currently
is.
Parking
is
hard
to
find
in
the
small
parking
area
(P3
-
Kuranlagenallee
2)
close
to
the
baths
(but
try
your
luck
anyway),
and
if
you
fail
to
find
a
spot,
I
recommend
parking
at
the
Kurzentrum
car
park
(P4
-
Kernerstrasse
39)
and
walking
the
rest
of
the
way.
On
busy
days
there
is
a
queue
to
get
to
entry
tags.
From
the
changing
area
there
is
a
long
walk
to
the
baths,
with
confusing
signage.
The
Therme
is
textile
free,
but
there
a
some
days
when
bathing
suits
are
allowed,
if
you
happen
to
be
sensitive.
Overall,
you
go
here
for
the
architecture
and
to
experience
how
baths
looked
like
in
renaissance
Europe.
The
saunas
are
limited,
and
there
is
only
one
steam
bath.
The
modern
swimming
pool
on
the
upper
deck
is
very
nice.
Dining
in
the
Moorish
Hall
is
an
experience
worth
having,
although
it's
hard
to
find
a
free
table,
and
the
food
(which
get
after
standing
in
queue
and
carry
from
the
cafeteria
to
the
hall)
is
nothing
exciting.
Overall,
it's
worth
the
visit,
but
if
things
were
optomized
a
bit
organisationally,
this
would
be
a
great
Therme.
