Delicious asparagus! And the schnitzel made an excellent balance. Surrounded with a great red wine. Very attentive service, thank you. All that for a very good price. I will be back

I had my first ever schnitzel here. It was enormous and superb. It came with a massive salad and a mountain of fries. Staff were friendly too.

If you’re looking for ok food with a fancy environment that’s your place. As Schwenningen is a small village with limited restaurant options in general, vau will be one of the best places to visit. The waiters are super kind and instantly embrace you to the local, which makes you feel super comfortable and welcomed. They have knowledge about the menu and give good food and drinks recommendations if asked. For being a so called italien place, the cuisine is not much italien. They offer a variety of dishes with a huge german influence in every single one of them. Unfortunately not many of the dishes are freshly made which comes through the flavor of the frozen food, that they heat up and plate very nicely. The meat is ok but definitely overpriced, pasta is overcooked and the sauces you get for the dishes are really fatty and far away from being self made. The best plates would be the salads, for which I would highly recommend to order it without the dressig, as the dressing is a heavy fatty white cream that takes all of the flavor from the “fresh” lecture (canned corn mostly) and salad away. Although olive oil and vinager are brought to you from the polite service. The drinks menu is huge, giving a big choice of non alcoholic drinks, cocktails and beers. The vines and champagnes are good but you may ask for a proper storage of the vines before ordering them. Beers and juices are all from local brands and very tasteful but again, not fresh. If you’re a coffee fan you definitely find a considering variety of coffined drinks, sadly the beans of choice aren’t the best and the maschine has its good days behind it. The teas diversity is there but as from the food, don’t aspect anything fresh. For first impressions you feel in a really nice and chic place, where you’re happily served. If putting an eye to details you may get confused by the vibes the environment is trying to give as everything is not so homogene. Lamentably the presence of the locals owner downgrades the whole vibe and workflow which comes all the way through to the client, so you may choose a day where she isn't there to get an explandet service and resanable food ;). Overall good place for a small town as Schwenningen but you’ll find definitely better and price worthier places in the surroundings if you’re looking for a high quality gastronomic experience.

Stopover dinner while on the way to Calw. Had vegetarian bowl and mushroom salad. They were both great! Service is great and the indoor decoration is classy as well.

Visiting my Sister, she invited me to her favorite restaurant in Schwenningen so we went to VAU, perfectly located right next to the university :) Great atmosphere, beautiful furniture and really nice food for a reasonable price. The staff is very nice and caring as well, definitely gonna eat there again!

Poor waitress was running wild. Food was ok but not great. Well we had only breakfast but the scrambled could do with seasoning. Was a job to order. Food came reasonably quick. Paying took a while and my second coffee was forgotten. Overall ok

The service reaches its limit when it is crowded. Sometimes you wait several minutes before you can order your drinks. Fancy food, maybe a little bit too fancy but good anyhow. They also offer tasty cocktails or just beer, depends on what you prefer. This place is one of most frequented in Schwenningen..

I absolutely recommend coming to eat to this place. The food and service is wonderful. Awesome waiter, full of energy and he was serving group of 30 ppl. The food...goat cheese with salad and fruits with honey was just amazing. When I got the meal, I thought to myself wtf did I order, but it was fantastic. For main meal we took the waiters advice and decided to try german steak. In my opinion, we didn't made mistake. It was really good and it was really big portion. Definitely would recommend!

I had high hopes for a delightful dining experience at [Restaurant Name], but sadly, it fell short in several aspects. The ambiance was lackluster, with dim lighting that made it hard to appreciate the food. Speaking of which, the menu promised a lot but delivered little. The dishes were bland, lacking any distinct flavor or creativity. Moreover, the service was slow and inattentive, making the whole meal feel drawn-out and tedious. Definitely not worth the price paid. Overall, a forgettable and underwhelming dining affair.
