My first experience having Portuguese style pork chops, and they were to die for! Seasoned just right, and not too over the top. If you're in New Bedford, this is a must!

Found this restaurant on Google and thought we would give it a try. It feels like a special local find that you don't stumble upon at random. It was busy with regulars but we fit right in. I had a few questions about the menu and the waitress was a great help. The food was really good and I would like to go back to try some other items. There is nice bakery next store too.

Don't let the location and the size of the place fool you. One of the best restaurants in New Bedford for Portuguese food. Definitely the best in rotisserie chicken meals which is the volume of their business for take out. Had the shrimp Mozambique one of the best I've had in town. Their rotisserie and kitchen area is viewable from the dining room and it is spotless.

A very authentic Portuguese restaurant where all the locals go. It's very small and in the middle of the neighborhood. Men are hanging around outside shooting the breeze with each other, some come inside & have a drink at the small bar in the corner, all speaking Portuguese. They are known for their rotisierre chicken which you can see them roasting inside on a fire pit as soon as you walk in. It's very tender & delicious and come with a big heaping of perfectly fried shoestring fries and the best tasting rice I've had in a long time. And coming from an Asian, that's a big compliment. My friend had their Jr. steak which he said was very flavorful and tender as well. It came with a fried egg on top and the same rice & fries. We also had a bowl of their kale soup, which I enjoyed so much that I made some similar when we got home. I highly recommend you stop in for a bite. Don't let the looks of the neighbour scare you off. Everyone is extremely friendly & like to joke around.

Wow... Went here for dinner the other night. It's a tiny little place, lively and packed with locals. I wanted to try something off the appetizer menu. They were out of the Spanish style clams, which I heard were fantastic, so I opted for the fried calamari. What a treat. Fresh crispy on the outside soft on the inside just enough chew...lovely flavor, lovely sauce that accompanied it. The bread was really wonderful. I guess it comes from the bakery next door, New Bedford baking company. It was crispy on the outside and fresh and slightly chewy on the inside. I also got the Portuguese style BBQ half chicken that came with the lovely fresh salad and a boiled potato. Very hardy portions. I'll definitely be back.

I've been in numerous times and for the most part I can't complain but today service was just not it !!! Greatly disappointed in the service today. Order two appetizers one of them came the other one never did and even after when the check came we still didn't get the appetizer.. I literally had to go up to the window and grab it myself. I literally asked three times about it before, during and after the meal and got told I know one time, that's right a second time, and oh yeah the third, and still never got it.not impressed at all..

Always tasty chicken with great piri piri sauce. Nice garden salad too. Would love to see ribs back on the menu. Look forward to eating there again soon.

Honeymoon trip with my wife found us close to this place so we decided to adventure a little. They do a lot with their space.. it's cozy but not loud or crowded, bright and not intimidating. Service was excellent.. the server took pains to make sure she heard us and that our needs were met. Kale soup for me.. reminded me of collard greens and ham down South but it hit the spot and gave me a hint of what flavors to expect. Wife had a steak Portuguese (excellent all around) and I had a tuna steak Azorean. The tuna wasn't bad, but if I go back I'll get the chicken.. I'm not normally a seafood guy but this trip is my 'hall pass' to eat it. Grandma's pudding for dinner.. light, sweet, and a perfect counterpoint to the spice from our entrees. Worth the hunt for parking and I need to learn enough Portuguese to give the staff the praise they earned.

I was so happy to know that I would be eating at an authentic Portuguese restaurant. And The Churrascaria Novo Mundo did not disappoint. We had large orders of chicken, ribs, rice and fries. Friends, the chicken was flavorful and juicy, they cube the ribs and they are fantastic. And um, the rotisserie chicken was at the table less than five minutes after ordering. To close, I had grandma's pudding.. Delicious!! Want to eat like your at home?? Stop by, and Service is excellent, they check up on you regularly and it is prompt and caring, really Great top to bottom.

Twice drove 45 minutes to come and try their chicken and both time was told no chicken, how can you be a churrascaria and not have chicken. Wouldn't recommend to no one, don't be disappointed... Even though they close at 6pm we were here at 5pm...
