If you're still looking for your home away from home in New Bern, stop scrolling. This is it! Denise and Michael are the most lovely hosts that I've ever had the pleasure of staying with. Yes, the space is BEAUTIFUL - the rooms, the living spaces downstairs, the home itself. But what really makes the Jarvis at 220 special is the hospitality. Denise & Michael do everything in their power to make sure you're comfortable and happy during your stay. From freshly made pancakes in the morning (don't miss out on the smoothies!) to leaving out umbrellas when it's raining outside to having the most beautiful Tiffany blue bikes available for guests to use during their stay. And they're always up to converse and share a good story. :) The room itself was perfect - the beds are extremely comfortable, the bathroom is cleaned meticulously, the robes are fluffy and the aromatherapy soaps are just the icing on the cake. The property is centrally located - walking distance to Downtown New Bern's many shops and galleries. You won't regret staying here.

The Jarvis at 220 is the most magical place! Denise and Michael were the most amazing hosts on my wedding weekend! They made sure everyone had plenty to eat and drink and was enjoying their time there!! They are top-tier hosts and so accommodating!! Not to mention, Denise's smoothies are heavenly!!!! This B&B is to die for!!! It's cozy and inviting with so much historic beauty! It made for the dreamiest pictures!! The cellar downstairs was PERFECT for people to come to visit and for the guys to get ready for the big day! And the courtyard was picture perfect!! I would not hesitate to stay here again, for a wedding or just for a weekend getaway!! I am in love!

Wow!!! This is a special place. The Inn is spotless, cozy, classic design, with gracious hosts, delicious breakfast and an excellent location in historic New Bern.

The Jarvis is the most perfect inn for a delightful getaway that provides the best of a historic property and the pleasures of modern amenities. The spa like luxury from our enormous shower was an experience that made us reevaluate what we expect in future B&Bs. But the attention from Denise and Michael, the owners, was what made our stay so much more than just a nice stay. Each morning was like going down to breakfast staying at a dear friend’s home. But a friend who makes fabulous apple caramel pancakes with crispy bacon! They are the really fun couple with the really cool house that you wished you had already met years ago. And their fetching golden doodle, River, just adds even more love and fun to this home. New Bern is a such a wonderful place that takes quite a bit of travel for us to visit, but now that we’ve made friends there, the distance is short if it’s for the joy of staying at The Jarvis. — Mike & John from MD

We recently spent a long weekend here with our two daughters. The Jarvis is really a beautiful B&B, but what really makes this place special is Michael and Denise. They could not have been more hospitable. Everything was top Notch. Thank you two for making our weekend so memorable.

We photographed a wedding where the bride and groom got ready at the Jarvis. The owners were so warm, friendly and helpful throughout the whole day. The Jarvis was clean and full of small, sweet surprises to make our experience enjoyable and overall really special. Highly recommend for those looking for a place to get ready on their wedding day.

This place is amazing. I mean it has some of the best energy efficient HVAC around... It's gotta be good. The bedrooms even have individual zone control for the heat pump upstairs. This means your room has its own thermostat. Cool bar in the basement, and great outdoor areas. Definitely recommend.

The Jarvis at 220 sets the bar for bed and breakfasts! The remodel is beautiful with modern up-to-date decor that is warm and inviting, the sheets, pillows and mattress were so comfortable I'm buying them for our home, and the breakfast was delicious and Denise catered to my gluten-free, paleo needs. There wasn't a detail that she overlooked. We will definitely stay there again.

This place is simply amazing, I mean that. The special part of this place isn’t the gorgeous home, immaculate bathrooms, and cloud like beds, it’s the hosts. D and M have thought of everything you could possibly need and want. They make it simple to have an astonishing time. Your brain can actually take a break and have a stress free time. The relaxation you experience at the Jarvis is truly invaluable. Breakfast is better than any Resturant and they are prepared on your schedule. They also have a list of activities that will fit anyone’s interests. To top it all off they know everyone in New Bern so you do not have to worry about getting into any restaurant or missing out on a local event. The Jarvis is a special place because D and M make it that way. My wife and I still talk about our stay there last and smile.

My husband and I were able to have a weekend getaway so we chose New Bern and to stay at the Jarvis. The house and rooms were beautiful and cozy, the breakfast was amazing and the hosts were above and beyond welcoming to each of their guests.

What a wonderful experience it was staying at The Jarvis. The rooms are beautiful, the sitting areas are cozy, the downstairs is a hidden gem and the courtyard is perfect for outdoor events. The owners have taken care of all of the details and they make sure that everyone is comfortable and happy. The breakfasts are delicious too! We will definitely be back to stay at The Jarvis and play in New Bern.

Denise and Michael are awesome! They made everything for our wedding so perfect and wonderful! They were excellent hosts and made our experience so much better than we could have ever hoped! Would definitely recommend their setting for weddings or any other type of event. The space is perfect for a smaller wedding setting and they provide four rooms with amenities to include breakfast which was a treat in itself! Do not hesitate to book a stay or an event because they will help facilitate whatever it may be!

Our stay was amazing!! Michael and Denise were extremely helpful in our stay and where we should go in town. The rooms and decor are beautiful!! Our bed was great and our bathroom so nice and spacious!

We had a wonderful weekend in New Bern which was made so much the better by our delightful stay at The Jarvis at 220. The historic home has been delightfully restored but with modern needs in mind. The bed and bedding was very comfortable, our room was beautiful, and the bathroom modern and supplied with delightful soaps, shampoos, etc. Denise and Michael are delightful people who feel like new friends. They answered all our questions and directed us to local attractions and to the best beach access on the coast about an hour away. Coffee is great, snacks are abundant and breakfast was delicious including tasty fruit smoothies. Oh, and we don't want to forget the bikes that were available for our use to tool around town. We absolutely recommend staying here and we will again someday on a return trip.

The owners, Michael & Denise are so very welcoming. They will make you feel right at home, and treat you like family. Your comfort, is their pleasure. The Boutique-like setting, gourmet breakfast, and location in beautiful downtown New Bern completes your getaway experience. I would not hesitate to come back to the Jarvis @220!
